Not entirely true.
DPC is a control freak. He is clearly not a perfectionist. One only needs to breeze through BaDIK or AL without paying too much attention to see shit tons of mistakes and clear breaks of logic in his writing. He HIMSELF has said writing is his weakest link. He clearly should come up with the over arching ideas, and then let better writers write, and let the proof reading and editing team actually do what they need to do, instead of tread around his huge ego.

Not going to comment on his personality as I don't engage on his patreon or discord, all I know of him is from this thread. But surely he deserves the money he makes, which is what matters the most. Theres quite a few people in this forum who holds a game developer tag but can't even boot a PC. There is also game devs who are lazy and take advantage of people's support. This pinkcake guy, you can tell by the gameplay itself he was working hard to drop an update, whenever it comes out.

One of the few good devs in adult games today.

The problem i have with this forced mentality, because of personal impatient. Yes, it might be achievable what you say, but it's not Risk free right? You admit yourself. and thats alone enough to not risk it, because if it's not work, he end up in a worst position.
The blame is on him no matter what, so why he should rely on other people's. Instead of developing the game in his own pace, he would spend time overseeing the other peoples, to do the things the way he want them to do, and even then its not gonna be they way he would done it.

Cristiano ronaldo can be the greatest player all time, but if the other 10 is not on his level, than the team is weak. Tiger woods don't need to rely on anybody.

by doing the things the way DPC doing, he does not have to rely on anybody , the failure and the success are both his. But it is his failure if he has a team too, however the succes would be considered " Team effort " .
Yeah I would not need this either. and the truth is it has way more chance that the game would suffer, if DPC hired a team. The risk is to big to take it , it is obvious so its not gonna happen.

Many popular game on this forum have taken this step. I'm not saying teamworking is effortless or risk-free, but the challenge is achievable. There are even projects that have survived thanks to this move.

You're just not getting it, as shazba explained in excruciating detail, DPC isn't running a business per se, he's monetized his hobby/passion. He wants to write the story, do the code, create the renders/animations. He's said he has no intention of using a team, as it would ruin his vision of the game, he'd be a terrible manager & it'd hurt his productivity. And he's making much more money than most in this scene, hiring people would likely reduce his earnings if anything.

None of your points apply, it's simply about people wanting faster updates, rather than what's best for DPC or his game.

DPC has in fact stated the opposite. He has already thought about what could be next after BADIK. I think he talked a little about it in one of the Q&As, but I only remember that he intended for it to have less LIs and be located in a small town or similar.

The worst part of this is peoples reading comprehension, now some of it might be due to a language barrier, but I think some people are just understanding it the way they want to.

'Weakest' doesnt mean weak, it's a comparison to all his other skills like rendering, coding, time management and animations.

The 100 meters were Usain Bolts weakest race, yet he still holds the world record by a mile and won every olympic gold medal, he just happened to be even better at the 200 meters. Is DPC a 1 in a billion writer ? Ofc not, but he spins a nice yarn and for a 1 man show, its surpringly entertaining and fun.

Prob best to ignore people who constantly repeat the same thing over and over, they're just fishing for someone to bite.

This is a false claim which directly contradicts what DPC has said himself multiple times in the past (incl. the most recent Q&A).
Actually, this isn't the first time you have said something in the name of DPC and added 'he said so on Discord' or something along those lines even when he hasn't done so or has said something similar but in a different context. You twist DPC's words or make some claims and then support them by adding the 'DPC said so on Discord' line each time relying on people on here not checking for themselves or just taking your word for it (which would be the wrong thing to do because 90% of those are false).
I don't see a reason why would you do it, but you still do because no one has called you out yet.
This post about Badik being 'DPC's last game', your post about 'DPC coming up with the Interlude during work (or smth like that)' even though it was meant in a completely different context and said by him about the start of his AVN journey in general and not the Interlude separately, claiming that 'DPC has confirmed that he uses Blender on Discord' which he never did, etc.
Enough is enough, don't make outright false claims because sooner or later people might and will catch on...

I am genuinely curious too, and ask for recommendations; I have not played many of this genre, already without much confidence left when I ran into games like summer's gone in the first page of top rated game while in the process of trying out other VNs.

Usually the titles I remember being called,besudes SG, are City of Broken Dreamers, Depravens Awekening, and Pale Carnation.
All of the previous games I mentioned are more dark and for sure have their apealing to people invested into science fiction and social corruption. Personally I dont have any special interest in both themes, less related to sex, and when it comes to sex games, I think narrative and sex appeal are connected.

Now, I am not an expert on the subject couse honestely never really readed almost any of the games i played here except Badik, the reason being I wasn't looking for normal fantasy escapism. I did readed some of them, one i really personally like was Battle of Lluvia, sadly never got enough support and is pretty much dead by now, even on the first act of the story. Also the porn was awfull.

Even if I am not an authority on the subject I still find better BADIK than all of them.

I can give you my opinion on some games that I like and are a bit alike to BaDIK. In no particular order.

The Deluca Family , however if you decide to give it a try, keep in mind that updates are at a snails pace, an incapacitated snail at that.

Intertwined , school setting and the game will confuse the hell out of you, its a good hell tho. If Dalli_x ever discoveres it, we will have lost him forever.

Leap of Faith , nobody MC meets superstar Singer, gotta warn you tho, suicide is an important part of the game, so if you're sensitive to that, it's probably best to stay away.

Chasing Sunsets , Stepbro + Stepsis, nicely written with not many, but sufficient side stories and the best humor I've ever seen in a game. 'PHRASING'

You already mentioned Summer's gone, so that's 4 games where I can say 'give it a try, maybe you like 1 or 2'.

Final disclaimer : I dont think any one of those rise to the overall level of BaDIK, but they are 100% enjoyable for me.
