Just remember. As much as I don't see a need for Zoey, there was a time when she was pretty.

Still not my cup of tea especially in the face and hair, but I agree she looks much better without all of the ugly ink. The body is a temple and overboard tats are like putting spray paint "art" on Taj Mahal.

I hope in DPC next game he can get his smiles to look more natural like this one below. I understand that Jill smile was created several years ago and we are stuck with it now without an in-game trip to a dental specialist, but wow the difference is night and day between BaDIK and the small time dev who created the image below. I think both creators use Daz. The one below looks so natural while smiles in BaDIK (teeth asset issues aside) often have this odd gaping mouth grin.

4) MC is still in a relationship with Jade:

The only other scenario is he's never been intimate with Sage, but he's been fucking Jade. Jade really likes the mc, so he's not gonna have any drama with her, but he's gonna be sitting there with her daughter and her husband with the knowledge that he's fucking with their family. I think it's reason to be very uncomfortable.

So really, given all those potential thoughts going through the mc's mind. I don't find it being far fetched at all that he panics when he finds out.
did you forget about fucking both until the Ep.8 end but choosing others?

I sure hope he doesn't, at least not to look similar to the example you've provided in the post
No disrespect to the dev at hand, but it looks creepy and is similar to the smiles/expressions characters and people have when you use those AI face apps to sing and whatever o_O

It's certainly not any worse than Jill's hideous smile, but I get that at a certain point you approach the uncanny valley. I just like how the smile is natural, teeth look normal, and the eyes reflect the smile (i.e. if you cover the mouth you can still tell the happiness just by the eyes).

It could be misdirection, but DPC isn't usually especially good at that.
When has he not been good at misdirection?

Half the players were convinced Mel or Sarah was fucking Chad.

Huge number of players were sold on Geoff being Sage's dad.

Nobody suspected Josy's "boyfriend" was a girl.

He's successfully played that hand so many times now, whenever something seems obvious everyone is like, "Hold up motherfucker! This be some bullshit right here!"

did you forget about fucking both until the Ep.8 end but choosing others?
I just put that into the "Dumping Jade" category, since Sage handled it fine, and they are still good friends.

I think Jade and the MC are adult enough to work this out in a private conversation.

Jade: "Did you say anything to Sage about what happened."
MC: "No, of course I didn't. I kept it to myself."
Jade: "Thank God. I just don't know what got into me, why I did that. I don't want my family to know about it."
MC: "Jade, they won't, I promise you. But why did you do it?"
Jade: "When we first talked, you made me feel something I've been missing for a long time. The feeling of being wanted."
MC: "Jade, you are an attractive woman and desirable. But you're married and I'm in love. Who knows what would have happened if it wasn't for that."
Jade: "Let's leave it at that, okay."
MC: "Okay, I don't have a problem with that, and if you need someone to talk to, I'm here for you."

Pass the other one but those two are pretty revisionist. Dude literally played a rigged game of omission to get the twist on Sage's parents, and had to really shove Mel and Sarah into the Troy/Chad deal in S2 because pretty much everyone had gotten the hints in S1.

Red herrings are one thing, but cheating to get one up on your readers isn't being good at misdirection. It's just wanting to shock at all costs.

The smiles could be more natural, less grimacing. The path that has been taken since the uncanny valley is impressive, but there are still details that bother me like the synthetic skin or the teeth that are sometimes too bright.

I don't agree with that at all.

Mel and Sarah did have something to do with it, and we still don't know what (Mel is Troy's sister is my guess, but only coz they both look gothic). But there was evidence to prove it couldn't be them even while they seemed the obvious suspects (even Sage suspected them), and there was evidence that Chad was gay, and even that he was with Troy. Some people got it before the reveal, and some didn't. That tells me DPC played it really well. He risked putting too much out there totally spoiling it, but still a lot of people were shocked at the reveal.

Same goes with Sage's parents. There are significant clues on Sage being a Burke, but then the (literally) red herring was Geoff at the party. But in hindsight it's kinda obvious Geoff was Arieth's dad. The only other HOT who should have been at the party and wasn't. Once again, some guessed it, and some were duped by the red herrings. Once again, DPC provided clues and misdirection, risking exposing too much but found the happy medium.

If everyone guessed these, then he overplayed the clues. If no one guessed them, then he overplayed the red herrings. But with a good mix of both, what more could you possibly ask for?

DPC only wants to shock those who deserve to be shocked. Personally, I was surprised but not shocked that Sage's parents are Stephen and Jade Burke. Why should I be shocked when my MC did nothing wrong?

But DPC also led me astray, just not with Geoff. I guessed that the guy with the red short hair was Sage's father. He fit the personality profile.
It wasn't a surprise. I thought she was a Burke or funny man-bun guy's daughter.

Likewise, i don't see it. Mel and Sarah had to come out of nowhere (at the very end of an episode) and start talking all ominously to offset all the hints about Troy being the likely culprit and for the red herring to hold any weight. Just a needlessly heavy handed approach. And as far as Sage goes, her parents being freaking Burke and Jade is not something that needs to be clued in, it's something that just naturally comes up in the 8 episodes and howeverlongithasbeen that MC's been around her and the HOTS and everyone who knows of that shit (everyone). It didn't because twist.

I'll give it to you that Maya and Josy was slick, but if you ask me it was slick because he didn't resort to cheating to preserve the mystery once some folk had figured shit out.

This week I worked on static renders, a bit of coding/writing, and environment renders for one of the bigger free roam events of the episode.

Some scenes have been pretty complex to create due to the number of characters and details in them. I've completed a long scene with ~160 renders in it and some shorter scenes.

Somewhere over 1500 renders are fully produced. A rough estimate is that it puts image art at 35-45% completion.

Regarding animations, I've almost finished work on 8 lewd scenes, with more to come. I need to work on another lewd scene soon to build up the animation render queue.

It's hard to estimate how many animations are left to pose, but a gut feeling tells me we're somewhere along 40-60% completion with animations.

All writing/coding/phone content should be somewhere >80% complete.

Music/sound effects are ~20-30% complete.

I wish I could give a better estimate than this, but it's impossible, and guesses only make for disappointment. I don't want to limit my freedom during development by promising things too early. It would cause bad stress for me, and the best episodes are made when I'm enjoying what I do.

All-in-all, steady progress is being made.

This weekend, a new 2D poll will be live, with some side girls candidates for wallpaper and animation. Sign up as a +$10 patron to participate.

Have a nice weekend

I still think it's OK for the mc to get worried when he finds out who Sage's parents are, for all potential paths leading to that point.

He did come on very strong with the "Fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck." reaction at the end of ep 8, but as has been dissected many times now, that reaction has been reduced based on the path that lead the mc to that spot.

The different scenarios:

1) MC rejected Jade from the beginning:

You may believe this is a non issue scenario here. And yes, the mc hasn't done anything to be ashamed of.
All he's done is reject an extremely forward Jade, who has literally sexually assaulted him twice (once in the cafeteria when she grabs his cock through his clothes, and the other with her foot at the back of the gender studies lecture hall).
When he turned her down, she threatened him:
Jade: "You should spend the time left in this class reading and be quiet..."
Jade: "That way I might not fail you..."
And that's what he did. The next time they even acknowledge each other is when he finished the class:
Jade: "Fuckface. Pass. Next."
All the other students she chats with them, even mulling over whether to fail Derek with the consequences of him repeating, but she can't get rid of the mc fast enough.
Her actions have made their dynamic extremely awkward, I mean he could press charges for real if he wanted to, so him coming along with the girls to ask for monetary help for Maya, who knows how she would see that, or how he would think she would see that.
2) MC is fucking Sage and Jade:

We all know why this is awkward, so it doesn't require further discussion.

3) MC dumped Jade in ep 8:

Jade was really pissed. This scenario requires no further discussion.

I don't find it being far fetched at all that he panics when he finds out.
being, those listed by you, 4 profoundly different scenarios how can they have exactly the same reaction? and having decided to choose the maximum reaction, that becomes "average" completely exaggerated, a WTF moment

that was such an obvious exaggeration that DPC himself had to remedy it already in the interlude, where, finally MC reacts differently depending on his situation.

probably DPC wanted to press the pedal because it was the close of the season, but the result was quite alienating.

Oh man it's simple why some characters don't disclose everything about themselves. Because they don't want to.

- Maya had to trust the MC first, not only because she is introverted, but also because she has made the experience in her past that certain truths should remain hidden, because otherwise she harms herself with it.
- Sage wants to stand on her own feet, ergo it would be counterproductive for Sage if everyone knew that Sage is the adopted daughter of the Burkes. On the one hand she is a member of the Burke family, but on the other hand she is not 100% Burke because she was adopted. I even assume that Tybalt makes Sage feel this, because he is at least a 50% Burke, if he is the biological son of Jade.
- Jill is slandering her last name herself because she wants to meet normal people and not only snobs.

These are only 3 different reasons why the characters in the game don't want to reveal everything. To be honest, this is even realistic writing from DPC because he includes the characters' pschye.
you didn't follow the reasoning

whatever Sage's motives were for keeping her family hidden, they are motivations that by the time she asks Mc to accompany her simply no longer make sense.

and not telling her at that point is either very stupid, or very selfish. indeed the more she wanted to hide it from him before, the more she should reveal it to him at that moment

Sage is worried that the meeting might go badly, and involving MC in an argument with two college professors is a risk he must be aware of, it cannot be a surprise
