Honestly, at the very least the MC could've been like "Yea, this just got more complicated. I need some time to think on this because I feel like I may be the one that ends up burned." Would still have pretty much played out the same but it would've been a lot more subdued which could feel flat in a VN since it's just a bunch of stills with some animations. I feel like DPC might have ran the scenario to be something like that at first but then ran into the problem of how boring that is for a plot device. He seems like the type of dev that really emphasizes setting the correct mood.

Nah, he still has 40 animations left (rough estimate) and he has mentioned that they are long and complex animations and he averages 7-7.5 animations per week anyway, so still has at least 6 weeks of animation work left. If he takes 6 weeks, he'll be done by 25th November and then you add the two weeks of playtesting and we get the update somewhere in the 16-23th December.A November release is still possible. If DPC winds up adding relatively few animations to those already in the queue (or these animations themselves are smaller) and ups his rate even slightly he could finish in time for a release on the 25th of November. It's longshot at this point, but as long as DPC is finally in a trimming mood (as opposed to constantly looking for things to add) we've got a chance.
I have plenty of opportunities for pessimism, I figure I might as well celebrate all these numbers with some rose-colored glasses.

That's ways off still then. I'd say rn my most anticipated updates are Being a dik Episode 9, Where it all began CH2 and Summers gone CH 4.5
I'm sure WIAB CH 2 will be out before being a dik ep 9 but I'm also sure they'll be a pretty close release so that's nice. SG CH 4.5 will most likely follow shortly as well so another plus. Sucks that it's gonna be in the holidays tho cause that's usually the time when things are most chaotic for me with family stuff and traveling so no time to just sit back and enjoy the updates sadly
