I don't really mind the minigames, they're tolerable. The only time I get annoyed is with the season 1&2 english tests since you can't use the keyboard to rapid fire answers like you can in season 3. That being said if minigames were removed other than party planning and the mansion repair (or any kind of future minigame like this was) i wouldn't be upset about it lol.

Someones trying not to get caught by the wife or kids huh :ROFLMAO:.
There's definitely an element of that , but I also find the game sounds distracting and generally tend not to enjoy the chosen music. I play windowed and I'm usually listening to my own music, or I'll have YouTube on in the background listening to the news etc.

It was a very productive week. I finished all the remaining writing. Yep, all of it, as previously stated - is written.

Moreover, I added new patrons since episode 10 to the credits, added the Vault digits to the episode, double-checked that they worked, and ensured that all special renders were added.

I've now started working on the remaining art.

Here's an updated checklist and my current thoughts.

Unfinished writing
  • Analyze if any branch needs more writing during polishing. Other than that, all scenes should be written and ready for art and polishing.
Unfinished art
  • I haven't counted the exact number of scenes that need art, but it's ~20 scenes of varied length.
  • Static renders and animations for a small lewd scene
SFX & Music
  • SFX & Music for the scenes mentioned in the art section; the rest of the episode should be close to completion.
Coding & other tasks
  • Rooster needs 1-2 more clucks.
  • Analyze how much more the phone gallery needs. It's near completion.
  • Phone chats are near completion.
  • Add Bios to the entire episode. It's a couple of hours worth of work.
  • The end of the episode report needs to be written.
  • Add Discord rich presence functionality for Episode 11.
After the above comes the polishing, proofreading and beta-testing process.

My thoughts on all of this
Creating the remaining static renders and animations will be fun and not pose any greater difficulties. I will have to design some new environments for the remaining scenes. I expect big progress with the unfinished art over the upcoming weeks.

There are two big remaining hurdles before beta testing and proofreading - one labor-intensive and one limited by hardware.

Rendering the remaining animations is one of the hurdles, but I'm seeing a decent speed on what's rendering. 60 animation files are currently in the queue.

Polishing the episode is the labor-intensive hurdle. I'll have to play it many times in different ways and make changes where needed. During this development cycle, I have only played the entire episode two or three times, with some gaps along the way.

I scrutinize the episode during the polishing phase and adjust art/code/writing accordingly. This is one of my favorite parts of the development cycle because it shows all the hard work since the last episode. It's when the episode starts to feel complete.

I plan on working on art until I'm done posing every written scene. I might do a coding task or two along the way, but the primary focus will be completing the art now.

Next Friday, at 16:00 CET / 09:00 CST, I have a special announcement you won't want to miss. You can join my Discord server for the event, but I'll also post the news on Patreon.

Have a nice weekend

Dr PinkCake

Since Most of you here are Programmers or Know about Software development so you most likely understand what i am going to say below.

Forget about the time it takes to taste and polish (i.e. polishing, proofreading and beta-testing ), b/c he can do it while the animations are being rendered.

Therefore he can do "polishing, proofreading and beta-testing" while the animation is rendering.

"polishing, proofreading and beta-testing" - does NOT have to do with the remaining animations on the queue and them being added to the game, because the animations just playable WEBM files he can just add whenever they are ready and don't interfere with his "polishing, proofreading and beta-testing".

That means he does not have to wait until the animations are rendered to completion, unless he wants to intentionally prolong the release date.

so waiting the animations to be completed all before "polishing, proofreading and beta-testing" does not make sense.

so by the time all the animations are rendered to completion, all the "polishing, proofreading and beta-testing" should ne completed

ANIMATION speed
Two weeks ago, we had a whopping 68 animation files in the queue, and that's not even counting the planned animated cutscenes.
(let's not forget about the cherry on top - throwing in a little sex scene, Which is Small LEWD scene.) Probably up to 10 animations.

HARDWARE LIMITATION.
Unless DPC buys another Computers to speed up the rendering, it is huge obstacle for early release.
/\
Let's be real here: at a rendering rate of 10 animations per week, we're looking at a total of 6-7 more weeks of rendering hell (i.e. if some of the animations are shorter length, rendering could be little faster).
the queue is set to balloon to a lovely 70 in a doomsday scenario.

So, buckle up, folks. We're in for a wild ride of relentless rendering until January 10-20. Get ready to dive headfirst into the grind!

So In CONCLUSION : -
"polishing, proofreading and beta-testing" does NOT have to take additional two or three weeks after the animations are rendered.
Do "polishing, proofreading and beta-testing" while the animations are being rendered, then once they are done rendered, add them to the game, and release them within one week.

Otherwise he just need the additional time for something else.

but woo, no one have the balls to tell him that on his Patreon. even if they do He Bans them.

Anyone thinking otherwise is probably does not know about programming or software development.

so = is STUPID.

Animation is not equal to animation. Some of them are longer, some of them are shorter. So if the rest of them are shorter, then we may get a Christmas gift. If not, then some single guys will have something to do at Valentine day

the worst part about the interlude is that only one choice really matters, the rest is basically just introducing a new character and her friends who will likely not be involved in the story anymore.
This is not true. You shape Zoey's personality by all those little choice. It is true that for those who don't want to replay the interlude for each path, dpc implemented that one big major decision, and that decision alone determine Zoey's personality, whether she is a more of a Dik, or chick/ neutral leaning girl.

But, if you play the episode, you can pretty much shape her to be a Dik-ish girl, even if she forgave to the Tattooed bitch. Just make enough Dik response, and in the end, you can chose to forgave, and she still have the Dik-ish personality later.

But if you decide to skip it, than yes that is the choice what determine her personality.

I doubt he will put in voice acting. It's way too much work and hard to get done right. And if he would, he would proberbly wait until the remaster he has hinted about maybe doing at some point in the future.
Did he hint about a remaster, or did he just reply to a question about it saying that doing a remaster before finishing the original is out of the question?

(...which doesn’t rule out a remaster after the completion of the original, but doesn’t suggest there will be one either)

the worst part is that it was a half trick to bring the time from 7 to 11 months without anyone noticing right away

on the episode itself, the fact that it can be skipped completely also says a lot about how much DPC believed in it, you still have to take care of the little fish in the aquarium, not Zoey 's story

I love this fan art by "Vargas" that showed up on the BAD reddit two weeks ago. The wristbands and rings and muscular tone of the unseen male give him a real "alpha male" vibe.

My internal story for the scene, from Sage's concerned expression and Elena's eyes closed and mouth agape, is that the guy is a dom who has already blackmailed Sage into his harem and is now turning his attention to Elena, and Sage is watching as her HOT sister succumbs to pleasure:

Nice render.
Don't get me wrong, wish I were able to do such things, but Elena's titties are quite smaller in the original. And that's part of her charm, in a world of mostly medium to enormous boobs.

There were 68 animation files 2 weeks ago, not including the planned animated cutscenes. I think it's fair to calculate a rendering rate of 10 animations per week. Including a small sex scene( I assume it's Madame) the animation queue will grow to 70 in a negative scenario. That's a total of 7 weeks of rendering.

The end of rendering animations - January 20.

Add to that three weeks of beta testing - and the episode release will happen on February 21, 2025.

I could be wrong by a couple weeks, but that's probably the approximate release window.

Ep 11 isn't coming out in January, we can live with that.

If DPC hurries up, ep11 will come out on Valentine's Day -February 14, lol.
Thank you for taking the time for this analysis. Again. MUCH APPRECIATED.

Of course not, he's not dumb enough to spoil what in his mind is the reason we're anxiously waiting for the episode.
Not only in his mind...

I agree, but that's also why we are allowed to skip it, so it's a somehow good tradeoff.

I wish that ALL the episodes could be skipped once played once, in order to explore different branches just focusing on different choices and and different consequences without having to waste time in clicking again and again in boooooring free roams and minigames that can't even be fast-forwarded.

Let's face it: free roams may be fun the first time when you discover by exploring, but when you are playing for the second or third time just to change branch they're a boring bunch of forced clicks chores... even for players that love free roams (when they are new)!

and the burden takes away the will to play the fourth time

The same goes for mansion repairs and party planner.

You can skip taking care of the fish too. I always do, even if I have to mod my status or affinity (can't remember which it is) temporarily when Nick gives you the option. If you're DIK enough, you can say "no thanks" and never have to deal with the fish tank again (so far). So if applicable, I switch the levels, say no, then switch them back right after

When I was doing my repeat saves to set up the files I wanted going forwards, I would skip the Interlude because there was an option to and I was looking for the speed of it. If I was playing "properly" I would include the Interlude, as it's part of the game, even if it's a step away from the main characters (which is why it's an interlude and not a chapter).

Almost three years have passed, but people still cannot calm down because of the Interlude.
I saw someone say the whole thing could've been condensed into just 5 renders or something like that, which I disagree with. But then I thought about some of the other short little stories concisely told, like the original Zoey story we shared with Bella in Episode 3. Or more recently, that flashback sequence for Stephen or the opening with Helen and Patrick.

I liked the Interlude well enough, mostly just for Zoey herself, but now I'm wondering if the whole thing could indeed have been told in a short and sweet sequence: things are good with MC, grandma dies, train station, then it's sort of split the rest of the time where we see Zoey enjoy herself in San Diego while MC is alone and miserable, their text messages growing colder and less frequent. Zoey eventually misses home and MC too much, decides to come back, and MC has already tried to let go and move on. Bing bang boom.

It's obviously just a summary, but I can envision the whole thing in my head. The only thing is that with such brisk pacing, the Zoey lewd would have to also be shortened or just not included at all, which would suck because I like it a lot. There's also the consideration that DPC intentionally made her story this whole big thing regardless of what was necessary, very indicative of his dev time ballooning out of control for the next 3 episodes.

Well... By "polishing" I'm sure he means also playing the finished game to evaluate if the user experience is what he had in mind.

And this can be done only when all the WEBMs are ready, otherwise he can't evaluate if the game "flows well" cinematically speaking in the final user experience.

Almost three years have passed, but people still cannot calm down because of the Interlude.
I think it's the mentality many have on this site or this industry community in general that whenever there is content of no interest to them it feels like the effort spent on that should be spent on stuff that would interest them. They feel like they are owed something in that place, like someone stole interesting content from them. For others it might simply be painful memory if they were present during its developement because of the long wait and no fruit kinda thing. Like I said earlier, only when game will be finished people will see Interlude as nice part of the game or people who discover the game just recently at least. Sure there are many things that could be cut or done in more efficient way in this game, but if the community really got the hands on power over this project it would be picked apart by vultures and only carcass would be left. Then the same people would later type that this game fell off and they need to find new project with such grand details and content. Just my thoughts, it varies case by case of course don't wanna generalize too much.
