I always feel like hatred for certain characters stems from the very real dilemma of whether anyone is truly redeemable or not. We have our first impressions of these characters, most players have a limit on paths tried/taken in this game, and then there is an overreliance of the skip function when playing multiple playthroughs. Some players form opinions of characters from their limited playthroughs and never see any other side to those characters (Jill, Maya, etc). Some already believe that certain characters are complete trash (Quinn, Nick, etc.) The true brilliance of this AVN or any good story (when it works) is that there are multi-facets to just about all of the characters. If you play enough paths you can usually see a different side to most characters (Fuck Dawe!) But, at the end of the day, this only continues to hold traction if 1) DPC continues to write interesting, multi-layered characters (including redemption arcs) and sticks the landing, and 2) enough players are willing to give those characters and paths a chance in the first place. Because, if you aren't first willing to listen to someone else's side of the story and/or don't believe people can ever change (or at least deserve a chance to attempt to) then you are always going to play the story paths the same way and finish the story with a very narrow view of all the variable details and emotional nuances. Branch out, try new things! (DPC, you can send that check anytime, thanks!) :Kappa:

It’s hard to argue with you on that one. Maybe… he will have a redemption arc?! The real question is, how many people care or actually want one for Nick? Not many, I suspect.
He could have some sort of redemption arc, especially since he probably isn't behind the Cathy Cluck. But no one will ever trust him again.

100%. For first 2 seasons on full-on Chick route Quinn was as close to female antagonist as one can be(she's nowhere near Leah though). But if you play neutral(sorry, but I simply can't associate myself with full-on DIK route), she's more of a relativistic tragic figure.
Someone probably said this but whole Magnar-nerds subplot reminds me too much of a "Bully". When I've seen PrepRel/JockRel counters I knew we'll end up with something like it. Still though, I can't see him in antagonistic light - it's more of a comic relief to me.
Obviously, Chad's secret will be discovered by Alphas. It's actually interesting what will they end up doing.
Caleb is an obvious BaDIK's Goro. MC whooping his ass at some point will probably affect powerplay within Jocks.
And while Caleb is this game's Goro, Vinnie's an obvious Shao Kahn. DPC writes him as disgusting as he can be. Everyone that MC had clashes with had reasons for it and redeeming qualities. Vinnie's just chaotic dude. Although, imo, he appears way too rarely. I hope that DPC won't mess up the build-up towards that clash cause so far I can't take that dude seriously.

I still think that Nick is red herring in all of this and MC's take on him may be pivotal at some point. Like, if MC ends up fighting Vinny and Nick's the one who has to take sides.
That brings up another thing: if MC's take on Nick is important, then why is there one for Tara? One could say that it's only for this episode and to enable DIK/CHICK choices on neutral path when it comes down to dorm girls.
But why overcomplicate things when you can simply give MC few interactions with her without points and let player make only one decision - to Invite her or not?
Maybe it's just DPC playing with us, but MC being cruel/understanding to her may have significance too.

At the end of the day, it seems like there will be some kind of trial where relationships with other fraternities and their key figures will play pivotal role.

Do yourself a favor and try the DIK route. I have a base run in Pure Chick, Pure DIK, Neutral, and (Natural choices, wherever that takes me). You can be a good guy or a bad guy on any of those routes, although DIK is more violent.

On a Neutral or Natural run I never punch Troy. As big a dick as he was, he obviously didn't want the guitar to get stolen, and had already been punched. Sometimes I fight the jocks, sometimes I don't (Dad's mantra gets me to restrain myself sometimes). Other than that, it's mostly attitude and dialogue differences, and there are great ones on all paths in all affinities.

I have to think that this is most likely the case
Or maybe it's a classic case of DPC adding side character who wasn't too significant, but peeps ended up falling in love with.
I hope he stops adding new people into the picture because at this point because %name_secondary_char% fans will be disappointed with things like "no blowjob from Arieth, boo"(I still hope that DPC will add a scene of sexual kind with her just for the kekz and lulz around the ending). Imagine the amount of people upset when we'll see endings.
Also, I never volunteered for Strip Club, so I've never seen any Madame scenes. Does she have any kind of storyline except "Oh, mature woman who gets paid for sex"? Can we count her as secondary LI or not at all?

If you deny Heather, she still fucks Nick, (she apologizes to you whether you turn her down or not).

You lose the scene with Elena if you let Heather give you a BJ.
