Sage expresses scepticism about the joint party in the first sentence. If you don't believe me then maybe you'll take ChatGPTs word:

The sentence:

"The thought is nice, but could you imagine a party with DIKs and alphas?"

conveys a mixed-to-negative sentiment, with the overall impression leaning skeptical or dismissive. Here’s why:

Sentiment Analysis
  • “The thought is nice”
This opening is superficially positive, but it functions more as a polite preface—a softener before disagreement. It signals acknowledgment, not genuine enthusiasm.
  • “but…”
The conjunction immediately signals a contrast, often negating the positive tone before it.
  • “could you imagine a party with DIKs and alphas?”
This rhetorical question implies that such a party would be chaotic, unappealing, or problematic.
The phrasing suggests disbelief or incredulity, leaning toward “That would be a bad idea.”
Intended Impression on the Reader

The speaker wants the reader to feel that:
  • The suggestion has a nice intention, but
  • Realistically, the scenario would be undesirable, wild, or unmanageable.
  • The mix of “DIKs and alphas” is meant to evoke conflict or absurdity.
Summary

The sentence uses polite framing, but the sentiment it aims to impress is skeptical, humorous, and mildly negative, gently rejecting the idea by highlighting its impracticality or potential for chaos.

-----------------------

Then after the back and forth, we end up with Sage saying that MC will have to come up with something. Therefore Sage did not agree to any parties, she deferred it to MC.
Cool analysis:cool:

Exactly what I was trying to say idk where you are going with this.

Sage was asking the MC on the potential party with everyone including the jocks which he shuts down and she gets annoyed with the MC because he is not helping her to realize the goal. Yes, she leaves it to the MC, but she is annoyed that he didn't support from the bat.

No thats not what happens either...

Sage Imagines a party with the Hots, Diks and Alphas
Riona shoots it down saying it would be a disater
MC backs it up saying they all hate each other
Going on to say Tommy and Dawe would be at each other.
Sage then says no think bigger - massive party, you would hardly see each other.
MC says it might work at first, but it would go south and he doesnt see it happening.
Sage then says to MC he will have to think about somethings cause they wont fool the Alphas again...

Sage is just floating the idea at the moment - which very much comes across in that convo - Basically telling the MC to think on it cause they can't keep playing the Alphas

I'm not entirely sure what we're supposed to be disagreeing on? :D

The original conclusion of the post I was replying implied that Sage is the one who basically forces DiKs and Alphas together, but this conversation doesn't say that at all.

No the original conclusion of the post you were replying on simply stated that the idea of the NYE party with the Alphas, Diks and Hots is going to happen because Sage suggested it here - not that shes forced them to party (she may yet, we are not there yet)

which the conversation between her, Rio and the MC, she does indeed float that idea.

Which part in this do you think is Sage rejecting the idea? If anything Sage is more determined to do it. She simply acknowledges that there are problems that need to be solved. The NYE party happens because Sage is confident in her solutions. Then it goes south because she was naive.
This is what I was replying to. "Determined to do it" and "confident in her solutions" are not words to describe a passive observer.

I agree she floats the idea, even if it comes across as slightly deranged :D

But Roger was talking about a party yet to happen, so essentially arguing about a future we are only unsure about - but confident it is - while "determined to do it" and "confident in her solutions" are not exactly passive - the argument here is if the party does indeed go ahead like we all, bar dali and a few others think it will, the idea stemed from here and it'll be sage that makes it happen one way or another when it does.

Which you kinda agree with, so we are essentially quibbling over nothing :ROFLMAO:

I think we agree on the methods, but perhaps not entirely on the destination. :)
To be clear, there is no doubt about the massive party. I just don't think the Alphas will be there.
It could happen, but it would mean DPC would intentionally dumb down Sage to the point she actually thinks this is a good idea, which I'm not a fan of.
We all know if it happens, it will end horribly.

Fine let's break it down to pieces.

Sage: "The thought is nice, but could you imagine a party with DIKs and alphas?"
Sage: "And I don't mean like our party with just MC and Jacob; I mean a full-scale party with everyone."

At this point Sage is not serious about having such a party. It's a joke.

Riona: "That would be a disaster! They're hardwired to hate each other."

Riona joins in on joking about it.

MC: "Yeah. Even if one or two of us might get along, there are too many of us that never would."
MC: "Like, imagine if Dawe and Tommy had to party with each other. I’d give that party two minutes before it went south."

MC joins in too. They are all joking about a hypothetical disaster party.

Sage: "I think you’re being too narrow-minded on that one. Imagine if the party was huge, bigger than this one."
Sage: "Do you think it wouldn't work when there are that many guests? The DlKs and the alphas wouldn’t even have to talk.
"

Sage starts to play devil's advocate. She is beginning to warm up to the idea.

MC: "Maybe at first, but you know how alcohol brings out the worst in some? I just don’t see it happening."

MC responds semi-seriously. He agrees that having a lot of people might help, but it would only delay the inevitable.

Sage: "Well, you'll have to think about something. I doubt we’ll be able to fool the alphas easily after this."

The idea has been put on the shelf, but it is no longer just a joke.

Next day the HOTs are helping the DIKs clean up and alphas come to complain. Now Sage has to start mediating between them for real. Two months of frustrating talks later Sage is ready to make that joke into reality.

It's how narrative foreshadowing works. Because the characters joked about how a party with both DIKs and alphas would be a disaster, there is going to be such a party and it will be a disaster.

Enough of that. How's this for a change in conversation, will any of the girls go home with MC for Christmas Eve/Day? We already know MC can go see Iris, Bella's status is currently unknown, I imagine we can go to the Royces, the Baileys might not happen, and with the divorce the Burkes are also up in the air.

But Christmas with MC and Neil could be universal, with the probable exception of Bella.

If we assume Sage being dumbed down to the point of being a moron, then I agree with you.

I don't like it, but in that case, I agree.

Sage: "Well, you'll have to think about something. I doubt we’ll be able to fool the alphas easily after this."
This here is the important line really - passing it back to the MC, which, when it comes to him thinking of something, he decides to host a party on the same night as the Jocks, and we know that the HOTs prefer partying with the DIKS, so despite them supposed to go to the Jocks party they choose the better option - now obviously as Sage tells Dawe, she cant control what the hots do, but it does cause her a little headache... She will be mighty pissed off with the situation now.

The fact is, the Hots simply can't be spread over two groups; it's not working, so it's either going to be shared or you don't get us at all.

It'll be a carcrash granted - but if that ultimatum is ever put before the DIKs or the Alphas I dont think either of them would be willing to give up the HOTs

Given the conversation with Neil in Episode 11, I would still like Josy and Maya to go home with him. Afterall MC has already told them what his dad said - That would be one awkward dinner.

I actually really like the idea of the DIK and the Alphas being in the same party but in seperate rooms/spaces.
This could make the activities in the party planning and the actions made during the party itself have more meaning.

For example if you choose good activities in the party more people will join the DIKs side of the party and leave the Alphas to party alone.
It is also possible that we get a mission to try to convince people to join our side of the party similar to the mission in the HOTs party when we had to make all of the Alphas leave the party.
By doing this things in the party we could recieve a massive boost in the happiness of every DIK in the minigame.

That'd be pretty funny if we broke up after taking them home to try and prove Neil wrong :ROFLMAO:
