It is precisely because Alphas and DIKs dislike each other, and Sage is aware of this, that she decided to have a party big enough so that neither DIKs nor Alphas would have to talk to each other and cause such big problems. I'm not saying that this will last long into the future, but it might work temporarily during the first such party. Then there is a possibility that the Alphas will find out who is really sending the blackmail letters and the problems between DIKs and Alphas will eventually be solved on their own.
You might be right. I just don't think Sage would take such a massive risk just to keep Dawe happy.

And why only Dawe (and by extension, the Alphas)?
Because their parties suck. No one else will show up to them unless the HoTs are strong armed into going.

It might be funny to see the scenario where there is a "joint but separate" party between Alphas, DiKs and HoTs. With one side being DiKs partying with the campus and HoTs people and on the other side Alphas being miserable in their sausage party.

I think this might be the only scenario I could see happening, but it would do little to resolve any issues between the frats.

I'm using your own argument against you, the claim that just because you're not seeing a lot of people in the background means there won't be a lot of people at the party and that the room can't fit them.

It's you who provides that ridiculous argument when clearly it means nothing since there were other people in that room where Heather was, you just didn't see them because of the angle of the shot just like you're not seeing the other people in the rooms at the NYE party because of the angle of the shot.

Your absurdity in trying to deny there are more people in that room based purely on a single angle is laughable and pretty sad, honestly, as is your claim that 87 people can't be there when the DIK party room, which is smaller, packed in close to 60 people.

Dude, I only see six people in the trailer, and that's in a wide shot. Damn, even Chad is totally confused because Arieth is already watching another girl dance. I see Sarah and Melanie, who, given the emptiness of the room, are glad that at least Sage's boyfriend, the MC, is still there. The MC is sitting on a stool next to a bar table, or he's leaning on that bar table. Yeah, here comes a foreign word for you. It's called logic. There's a bar table, even if we can't see it. Why? There's a candle in front of Melanie. Either the candle is huge, like 1.5 meters tall, or it's on a bar table.

So, the angle, which is significantly wider than the Heather portrait, shows the party's dance floor. Out of 87 people, only the pregnant Arieth is dancing with one other girl. Yes, I know, the other 81 people are in the gym's locker rooms and showers.

Logic You can write whatever you want, you can only see 6 people from a relatively wide angle.

The Alphas wouldn't be able to do anything during the party anyway, given the number of potential witnesses. So if they want to do anything, they'll try to do it after the party itself, when everyone starts leaving. During that time, however, they might overhear some Beta members talking about further plans to start a war between the DIKs and the Alphas. This could lead the Alphas to focus their attention on the Beta fraternity members, and this would likely start to tighten the noose around the real culprits of the DIKs and Alphas conflicts.

Sage: "The thought is nice, but could you imagine a party with DIKs and alphas?"
Sage: "And I don't mean like our party with just MC and Jacob; I mean a full-scale party with everyone."
Riona: "That would be a disaster! They're hardwired to hate each other."
MC: "Yeah. Even if one or two of us might get along, there are too many of us that never would."
MC: "Like, imagine if Dawe and Tommy had to party with each other. I’d give that party two minutes before it went south."
Sage: "I think you’re being too narrow-minded on that one. Imagine if the party was huge, bigger than this one."
Sage: "Do you think it wouldn't work when there are that many guests? The DlKs and the alphas wouldn’t even have to talk."
MC: "Maybe at first, but you know how alcohol brings out the worst in some? I just don’t see it happening."
Sage: "Well, you'll have to think about something. I doubt we’ll be able to fool the alphas easily after this."

Sage did suggest a big party, but then rejected the idea.

Maybe she finally changed her mind. After the DIKs found a loophole in the agreement between them and the Alphas, she was forced to start thinking about how to settle these allegations of breach of agreement without creating even more tension between the DIKs and the Alphas after Dawe started arguing with her about the breach of agreement.

There was no loophole in the agreement. The DIKs had a party, and some HOTs, not all, were there. As Sage already told Dawe, she can't and won't dictate to her sisters whether they go to a party or not.

If anything, it's Sage and Dawe who are breaking the agreement. The HOTs were at the ALPHAs' Christmas party, and both sides agreed that the HOTs would be at the ALPHAs' New Year's Eve party. It was actually the DIKs' turn.

That's true, but Dawe will still blame DIKs for the HOTs showing up at DIKs Christmas Party for the DIK fraternity. Sage is probably aware of this and sees that the old way of partying isn't working. So she'll have to start looking for new ways to please everyone involved. So she'll have to rethink her original idea of having a party with everyone.

Wait a minute. I'm really wondering what happened. Dawe told his guys he organized the HOTs for New Year's Eve, and that was before the ALPHA Christmas party. Whether the MC is Sage's Boyfriend or not, they're still good friends. Sage wouldn't just ignore the MC like that.

What if Dawe forced Sage to do it? What if Dawe blackmails Sage into doing something she doesn't want to do? This could potentially be related to the letter Tybalt receives later.

Sage is a door away from MC, it doesn't really matter how it happen she and MC work out a party on neutral ground to try to keep everyone happy path isn't a factor it leads to the same place, of course something will go wrong by the end that isn't MC or Sage fault

Dude, stop calling this GIF a trailer. This is not a trailer, for God’s sake.

And another thing, this GIF is probably just showing the dance hall, which in other episodes was near Tommy’s room, and guess what? There were always only a few people dancing there. Not all 87 characters are required to be in the dance hall.

We don't actually see Sage agreeing to a NYE party with the Alphas, all we have is Dawe asserting that they're partying together. (Unless I missed something)

I think Dawe is talking out of his ass.

Dawe might talk nonsense, but then he's lying to his buddies.

There is literally the entirety of the room to the MC's left, right, and behind him for other people because this is just one specifically small angle.

Stop weirdly fixating on one angle as if it's the entirety of the party and the entirety of the space.

In fact, to further prove my point of how wrong you are, consider these:
ep9_wave2_33.jpg ep9_wave2_49.jpg ep9_diks_ph2_camila_dance_event1.jpg ep9_diks_ph3_prg_event1.jpg

Just a few of the angles in Ep 9 showing just a handful of characters in otherwise large rooms but we know there were other people also in the room in different places and there were over 60 people all over the DIK mansion.

Your notion that 6 people in that one shot means there isn't anyone else in the room is ridiculous and laughably short-sighted.

Sage did suggest a big party, but then rejected the idea.
It's gonna happen though, clearly, because she's attending a big party with 87 people.

Which part in this do you think is Sage rejecting the idea? If anything Sage is more determined to do it. She simply acknowledges that there are problems that need to be solved. The NYE party happens because Sage is confident in her solutions. Then it goes south because she was naive.

This conversation is practically proof that it will happen. It's called foreshadowing.
