VN Ren'Py Between Humanity [v0.2.1] [DebatingPanda]

Well I just asked because I figured the dev would be familiar with this problem, it seems very common in renpy games. The game exe has write permissions (windows). I was moreso asking what file needs to be given permissions, because the exe already has them.

But I realize you were just making a guess, maybe somebody else knows exactly what the problem is, as I said it's pretty common with renpy I've noticed. Some games save volume settings, some don't. I've never had dialogue mess up or the game become broken.

What's the path you've got the game saved to? If you don't know what I'm talking about then click the thing in the folder above the game files, looks kind of like an address bar like you'd see in a web browser, and copy paste what pops up. Unless you've got some fucked up permissions set up on your pc you shouldn't be having that happen commonly with renpy games unless you're installing them somewhere they shouldn't be.
You haven't run into problems yet, at least that you know about, because persistent variables often aren't used for games pathing but it absolutely would break a few games I can think of off the top of my head.

Okay, that's strange. Are you the primary user of your PC, and does your account have administrator access? Unless you've got some strange permissions going on with your e drive or your appdata folder playing games from there shouldn't be giving you issues.

Try this out, place the savedir.rpyc file inside the folder "game/". It'll switch the save folder from appdata to the actual directory in E:

Hello everyone!
I’ve got three updates to share with you today!
First, I’ve decided to put the Shader update on hold for now. I couldn’t get the characters to look the way they originally did, and even after reaching out to other devs, the issue remains a mystery. So, I’m sticking with my (g)old characters, they’ve got that special charm, and I prefer and love them a little more.
Second, in the last dev log, the word count was around 18,000, and as of last weekend, it’s grown even more up to 22,000. There’s been some rewriting and fine-tuning up until earlier this week, but now I’m mostly focused on rendering. The exact word count might shift a bit as I continue to add small tweaks during the rendering process to make the story flow more naturally.
Rendering is going smoothly! I'm currently using maps I created in previous chapters, which makes for steady progress. Over the past few months, I’ve still learned more about lighting and other techniques, so I’m making small adjustments here and there to improve the quality bit by bit.

While I can’t fully grasp what it’s like to experience such a devastating loss, I truly hope that things improve for everyone affected by these events. Yes, I am the owner and only user of my pc, and the account is an administrator account. It's the only account on the pc, even.

Technically all incest patches need to officially be considered fan made wishful thinking. Expecting the dev to explicitly confirm that it's official, to share it themselves or to confirm it's intended would just kill their patreon page. This game it's written well enough with incest off that the story makes just as much sense with or without the patch. So unless you have an actual incest kink then there's no point in using it, but it's just as good with the patch.

I honestly never played this game with said patch but I don't think I ever will. Story and everything feels perfect without it and probably would make it more enjoyable for me tbh. Especially cause im super picky when it comes to incest LI in games if I like them just because of that relationship.

If it was intentional then the dev wouldn't admit it. They'd actively deny it even if it was true. Even if they did admit it they would've long deleted the admission.

Either way I don't get why people are so hung up on whether or not it's official. It's there, the game plays well with it, it plays well without it. Use it if it's your kink, don't if it's not. You won't run into any "but we can't, I'm your landlady" BS without it so it's not mandatory but it is done extremely well and the "evil community modder" who made it worked quite hard to make sure everything made sense.

1) Because I'm re-tagging all the games on my list, and so I'd rather have accurate info at hand.

2) On a personal note, idgaf wether a games has incest or not, but I DO prefer playing the game the dev intended, regardless of wether they can say so or not because of fuckin patreon... so yes, there is a difference in it being intended or not... if it's just a patch made by some incest fan who can't live without it, then I don't really want anything to do with it because that's not the vision of the dev...
