Yeah but it's a bit forced.
Just by playing the game you kind of instantly realize that this is not one of those "incest-but-not-really-due-to-patreon" deals but that they're really just a seperate family from the MC, and honestly it works better that way imo.

Have you actually tried with the patch? There's a little bit of weirdness but the rewrites are more than sufficient for everything to make sense. I was one of the beta testers for the patch and I know the patch maker put in a lot of work to fix the issues I pointed out about it. It ended up pretty good imo.
Now because it wasn't blatantly "but we can't, I'm your landlady" the game plays really well without the patch, but it's just as good with it. It's not one of those games where you need the patch, it's more for people who actually have an incest kink and not just people trying to avoid bad dialogue.

No I haven't tried it with the patch, but that's also the main reason why I'm saying that it feels a bit forced, as the original game does a really good job of framing what they are to the MC and how they interact.

And yeah of course, it's there for people with an incest kink, but it really is one of those games where it really doesn't feel like it needs it, even though I am partial to incest content when done well.

No dev is going to confirm that an incest patch is official. I also wouldn't snitch on him knowing that patreon trust and safety pigs trolls this forum to investigate witch hunt. I won't say that the patch is official. Whether or not you read anything between the lines about how I chose to word that is entirely up to you but if you take that as me implying that it's official I won't confirm that assumption. What I will say definitively is that there are some deleted comments by someone who I won't identify that would contradict your assumption.

actually didn't think about that usually when I see a link to another thread or a download link from another user in a thread instead of on the front page I take it as it's unofficial especially if I don't see landlady or roommate in the game. But for me this game feels perfect and makes sense without it so i'll keep treating it as a no incest game haha.

This is the teacher. The mother is the nude character who is showering in the 6th picture on the first post. There's no photo of her face as far as i can tell. Except maybe the wide title picture at the very top. The mother may be the black haired lady on the far left, behind Lucy and Anya.

Hello friends!

I’ve been hard at work finishing up the remaining story elements for the next update. The scenes are all written, but I’ve found myself revisiting and rewriting some parts - especially when it comes to branching paths I initially overlooked.

For example, having different dialogue routes depending on whether or not you’ve lost a girl's path. Imagine you're talking with Amber, and afterward, Jade approaches and makes comments about her. If you're no longer on Amber’s path, Jade’s comments wouldn't really make sense. So, I’m adding alternate dialogue to maintain context and consistency. It’s a small thing, mostly basic storytelling, but not something I often see utilized in AVNs, so I wanted to explain where my time is being invested. Of course, this might have changed recently, but I haven’t had the chance to dive into every new or updated AVN lately.

Now, back to the main topic. Besides rewriting the story parts, I’m also working on the renders. I’m currently debating (pun intended) whether to update my characters from Hanmen Shader Version 2 to Version 3.X. There’s quite a bit of work involved in getting the characters to look like their original Version 2 models. You might be wondering - why bother updating? Well, the new graphics mod comes with some useful fixes for common HS2 issues, like those annoying dark lines on the body parts, among other things, and those need the new shader version. So, it could be worth the investment in time, but I’m still weighing that decision.

I’ve attached some previews so you can see the differences. There are still some noticeable differences between V2 and the adjusted V3-B (V3-A is just switching out V2 with V3), but they’re getting closer. I’ve been especially focused on Chloe, but despite my efforts, she’s not quite looking like herself yet with the new shader but Lucy on the other hand seems rather easy to update.

Lastly, I’m off this week from my day job and will be dedicating my time to working on renders, as well as the monthly render where I'll show Anya and Lucy together!

Honestly, this might seem like a small thing but man am I glad to see the dev addressing this. So many games I've played in the past where even if you shut an LI out, you still get the exact same dialogues and sometimes it just breaks continuity all together.

It'll probably be quite a bitch to do and continuously keep track of shit, but I'm hella excited for it.

Hey everyone!

Today marks Between Humanity's first anniversary! It’s hard to believe a whole year has passed since I released the first version. There have been plenty of highs and lows along the way.

I’ve met so many amazing people who have been incredibly supportive in every possible way. Their feedback has been invaluable, leading to some important changes in the game, whether it's providing feedback on newly written scripts, reviewing renders, or the invaluable help from beta testers and proofreaders - thank you all!

This journey has also helped me grow, especially in designing and managing such a complex story, improving my writing skills, designing good renders and locations and so much more.

I'm currently handling everything myself, story, render, sound and coding which is quite a task, but over the past few months, I’ve finally settled into a solid writing routine, which has made a big difference in keeping everything on track, which was one of my weaker points.

I hope you continue to believe in me, enjoy the story, and build relationships with the characters as I keep developing the game.

Thank you so much for your support, both emotionally and financially! It means the world to me and keeps this project alive!

The phone backgrounds, the preferences as well as all choices are saved in the persistent data file. If it resets every time you might be missing write permissions at the save location. The game might not be working probably because if your choices aren't saved, it'll show wrong dialogue everywhere.

Just an assumptions and depends highly on your os and various other factors, I'm not an expert. Google on the other hand knows a lot more than I do.

Well I just asked because I figured the dev would be familiar with this problem, it seems very common in renpy games. The game exe has write permissions (windows). I was moreso asking what file needs to be given permissions, because the exe already has them.

But I realize you were just making a guess, maybe somebody else knows exactly what the problem is, as I said it's pretty common with renpy I've noticed. Some games save volume settings, some don't. I've never had dialogue mess up or the game become broken.
