To be honest I don't want to hear about glamour anymore. Even if he goes through with that then what's the point? That game will be poisoned from the beginning. What you are essentially describing is two different games with the focus of one. Good luck with that. This 'compromise' is not a good idea.

Either stick with male POV or female POV. They want to do female POV and understandably, some patrons want to have male POV. This fear of losing patrons will damage them in the long run in term of credibility. The patrons will just be annoyed for not getting enough monthly content of whatever POV they wanted.

Big Brother was a great albeit unfinished game. I have no doubt they can make quality games. I just question their discipline. When people pledge money on patreon, they expect a finished game. If you tell them that you're not likely to finish the game they pay monthly for upfront then good luck getting your project funded. Sure Patreon threw a wrench into their project. But that's all it was. A wrench. They didn't destroy it. They could have easily went with Max being a transfer student or some BS like that. (Teacher's pet did that I believe)

They just decided oh better give up and make a new game. What's to say they won't do the same to this glamour game? I'm sure this game at the rate that it's going will no longer be the 'game they envisioned' either. Right now they have no credibility.

Probably DMD, 0.17 was the last release for now I think.

What he wants to do wouldn't bring him the same amount of $, or so he believes, so he opted for compromise.
Can't blame the guy, seems that his patron numbers aren't on the decline any more, but aren't really on the rise either.

It will be the next pledge that reveals the true numbers. It's most common to loose Patreons a few days before pledge. Now the news about BB is out so thoes in doubt will leave right before next pledge. This may be the reason DS announced the "maby" adding of a MMC later on. I can't say for sure but the comming months will decide both Glamours and BB's fate based on Pateron numbers.
(To be clear i don't blame DS for this. He has to make a living and thoes numbers is what he currently lives by.)

I too am skeptical of what DarkSilver says now as he lost credibility. I try to make my arguments with facts given by DS so as to be sensible. Regardless, I would believe DarkSilver's claim that patreon suspended his account. The reason being is that it would be easy for Patreon to disprove. If he told a lie and is dragging Patreon's name in the mud, I'm sure someone from Patreon would respond. So far, they are silent. DS is not a small account either. He's getting a minimum $11,000/month for his project. (Over 2000 patrons) For now, I would believe DarkSilver's claim until stated otherwise.

To that end, I believe project developers shouldn't rely on patreon unless they get full creative control. This is so damaging to projects in general. If Patreon doesn't like what you do, you're booted. In the end, while ignoring the patrons, Patreon has the final say. There needs to be competition. Przewodo is part of adultpledge, a competitor for patreon that wouldn't discriminate. It's not a perfect but any competition is better than no competition. (I don't know anything about payza or their commission rates)

Regardless of the whole patreon competition angle. What patreon allegedly did was throw a wrench into his project. I criticize the way Dark Silver responded to this wrench. In his posts he basically said he's using this as an opportunity to go do glamour as big brother is 'no longer the game he envisioned'. At the rate this new game is already going, I have no doubt that glamour too will have that issue. What's to stop him from quitting this new game as well? Right now he has no credibility and a track record of 0 completed games. (and after all that money as well) He could have changed up Max to be a family friend on vacation. (or some other bs) That way at least the game could be completed. The way DarkSilver threw away the game is disheartening.

Patreon projects are already unstable as it is. I've given money to projects before. I now have to think twice now because of this.

That may be everything. You can be right. But what should have been mourned? I guess now the part of the incest ... that's in almost all games there. Then they would have to change something. or even have to. but that's not the case. In the game "Adventures of Willy D", this performance is even worse than BigBrother. Of course, Incest is a NO GO in real life, that's for sure. But whether it's in a game, the mother is or just an unknown woman. If that is pretty. That's just a game. So I do not believe the Darksilver. What is there to play, then it should only meet him otherwise no one else?

He took the money. And will never finish a game. That's a crime for me personally! As already mentioned here. People have a right to a finished game. But if you continue to pay for the new project. they will be disappointed again. I'm sure. Darksilver has to lose money. And that very much. He has to fall under 1000 people. Then he will most certainly stop. Or go on with Bigbrother. And both are better than what the state is now. Whoever gives him money now? He is more stupid than the police allowed.

Being a patreon creator myself I know they did Big Brother was a clear violation of Patreons terms of agreement . Though I do not agree with patreon that incest in games and animations is against the law because it is not real and no Human Beings are being hurt. Therefore no crime has been committed.
What is truly needed is an alternative to Patreon so that we can boycott patreon and not the creators.
I know of only one but I don't know if I'm allowed to mention their site name here.

The reason why I place more blame on DarkSilver is because of Teacher's Pet by Irredeemable. That game also had incest in it. But recently the daughter has been changed to foreign transfer student. I was wondering why at the time but now it makes sense. They also get funding from patreon.

Since the change, Irredeemable is still on patreon with seemingly no problem. I don't see how Patreon would not have accepted Big Brother if DarkSilver had changed Max's character to remove incest. As I said before, Patreon's alleged action is a wrench. DarkSilver let a wrench blow up his project. That's my complaint.

edit: let's not forget about what glamour is going to have instead of incest. It's going to contain blackmail. I wonder if Patreon's thought police would have a problem with that. What else would they have a problem with?

Of course, MAX would have made me an exchange student. would be a very simple solution. If one gets so much money, he can not take it. only if he does not feel like it anymore. Everything else is not logical. 11 000 in a month is a lot of money. If he was good enough in his job, he would probably be with big companies. But since he is with patreon. More like 50:50, Patreon decided to ban incest and Darksilver decided the best course of action would be to do nothing. Take a look at Man of the House for example, just one simple file and everything's back to normal.

Blackmail is not specifically mentioned in Patreons TOS
police cant prosecute for fiction, well at least not yet.
Teachers Pet is made with Ren'Py and names can be changed easily in it or by using a script. With my project, I changed mother/son to stepmother/stepson and so forth. in hopes that I can get away with it on patreon will see they may have a problem with that as well. For me, the lack of Taboo just takes away from the story and let's face it is the taboo that makes us want to play the game in the first place even though we would never consider it in real life.
Big Brother is made with Unity I don't know how hard it is to change it's probably just as easy but I can say that I wouldn't like the game if it was changed.
