Have you done Alice story all the way yet, if not you should go do it and pay attention to ever line. If you treat her as a bitch from the beginning you will not see most of the hints that shows she has a great attachment to Max and it may even be love. Treat Alice as Max's best friend and chose lines along that path and you will see a different story unfold.
