Thats where you are mistaken. In Game Development same as in writing you cant just make stuff up and hope for the best. You have to adapt to sell your work in order to make a living. And if your audience/customers/Supporters/patreons do not like what you are doing you either adapt asap or lose alot of money.Not the same. When patrons become your bosses instead of your supporters (which was the reason why Patron was created in the first place) the artist loses his passion and we end up with a game like this.
And lets be realistic here. No one likes to lose money.
Hell if i could sell books by writing what I WANT to write i would write books about the downfall of humanity with no happy ending. And the heroes die for sure. Sadly no one buys that kind of Books ^^
