It's just romantic feelings are no go in such a setting to make sense for such people (like me). For me even putting theme aside BB has so many structural problems that it doesn't matter what kind of relationships are there. From what I could decipher I can say this - I am a creative too, not the same kind as DS obviously, but I do creative work for a living. Customers come and go. You cannot please everyone all of the time and sheer enthropy will make some of them leave and new ones to come aboard. People get bored, want something different in life and entertainment... this is how the world works.
Sacrificing your creative freedom to try to please everyone is a sure way to lose your soul and fuck up everything.
