In my opinion, another NTR/NPC would be cool. Say another Eric, but not a dick. Someone that actually likes Ann and is a nice guy. The reason I say this is because we have no one to hide our relationship with Ann from. Lisa, Alice and Kira all know. Hell, even the doctor knows. Maybe not even NTR per say where our relationship with Ann isn't affected by him. To me the good thing about incest games are the knowing it's wrong and hiding it, but if everyone knows then what's the big deal?
You are right about this game needing someone to hide the secret from. In most games it is hidden to the other family members until such time as they get caught and get together.
Part of what makes the incest genre exciting is the RISK of getting caught and exposed doing something you are not supposed to do (same reason why an affair is more exciting than just fucking your wife).
A neighbor, a friend of Mom, even a co-worker that comes by once and awhile might give us some of that excitement about getting caught. If he had just kept the secret from others in the family he could have used that early mechanism of Mom barging in and catching you (peeping) to convey that risky behavior.
Even when he does have people get caught recently it doesn't matter because they already know about the sex due to the fact the only way he could come up with for sex with the Mother was making a porn movie and including his older sister! Missed Opportunity.
DS really doesn't understand this genre as it is for those who LIKE incest as a genre. He seems to only understand the abusive versions you read in the papers and not the Fantasy version that is so popular in the erotic stories and plots. This game has ZERO eroticism. There is no LUST other than the lust of the MC to fuck anything that walks by him. And that is why this game fails on so many levels. A game is supposed to challenge you and allow you to essentially role play through a scenario and give you options to explore the many tropes that are included in the genre. But all he has given us is a BDSM plot for getting sex. And once you have played through on one character it's boring doing the same type of thing to the second and third.
The thing about making it Olivia is that 1. Not everyone has played through the Olivia route and 2. Olivia already knows about Max and Lisa, so would Ann really be such a surprise? The neighbour thing would be cool, that's why I said it doesn't have to be NTR per say.
If it's a she then no doubt it's going to end with Max fucking her. There's already too much girls in the game and the more girls, then that means less content per update.
We got rid of Eric what, 5 months ago? Since then the "game" hasn't been as good. I think if you drew a graph for the popularity of this game, it would be decreasing since we got rid of Eric. Why? Because it's been too one dimensional. There's been no contest. When you actually get to a sex scene it just feels too easy.
The issue with Olivia and Lisa GF paths is he didn't plan them to coexist correctly as he should have. It would have been so easy to have them swap partners so you could switch between fucking Lisa or fucking Olivia and instead of making the decision based on picking the right text reply so early in the game (with no hint regarding the possible dead endedness of one choice) he could have put off the training of Lisa until after the first attempt at them having sex and the excuse to do the training.
But Eric forced the issue it seems, just another case of Eric forcing the game to a place it really should never have gone when it did.
He created Eric to give motivation for the incest story to kick off. This in itself, wasn't the mistake. The mistake was having Eric be the center of everything. There was no story without Eric. That was the problem. At the end of the day it's "Big Brother: Incest Story of Your Life" not "Big Brother: Eric's Invasion".
A story can be engaging without a competitor and there's nothing wrong with having a competitor either. Problem is, DS focused solely on the competition. The actual incest story, while certainly not nonexistent, took a back seat to Eric's shenanigans. And the female characters suffered as a result. Ann became a stupid mother. Alice became a sellout, flirting with Stupid Ann's man. And Lisa was hella dense.
Eric might have worked better if he never had sex with the Mother (that you could see anyway) and was just dating and coming over for Dinner so that the Family and the MC would have to hide the incest that was going on. He would be the one they had to keep secrets from and it could have been a plotline where he wondered why Ann wouldn't sleep with him which was because she was getting all the sex she needed from her son.
