People should read previous posts a bit. There is no real alternative to Patreon because of Paypal. If he'll leave Patreon he will lost everything. He can't mod or alter BB cuz Patreon is being harder to deal with and they don't want anything related to BB on their site. He can't put an empty site and develop BB elsewhere as he might be perma banned and he can't risk it. People should understand that BB is dead until real alternative for patreon will come. And it might be years for that. Glamour looks more than decent and I see no reason to blame DS for anything as it's clearly not his fault.

DMD's Dev won't go with the dummy project either. Too many haters waiting for them to make this mistake I'm afraid. And those who think DS will lose all of his supporters because of the incest removal are wrong. Sure, he might lose a good amount of patrons (the die-hard incest fans) but a lot will stay too, and he'll gain more in the long run (the non-incest crowd) and he'll be able to promote his game on different websites that support adult content but not necessarily incest. In conclusion, I think the removal of incest will benefit the devs in the long term giving them access to a broader audience.

Dating Ariadne has a huge following but the graphics are horrendous. Imagine if Ds or Mr.Dots would make a similar game. I'd like to remain optimistic and believe that there's a huge opportunity for the devs here.

Today is January 27, one year anniversary of Big Brother on Patreon. We had very productive year, our game has earned a lot of followers and we had a lot of plans for it in the future. But, unfortunately, Patreon has decided it doesn't want incest content on their website anymore. First we couldn't mention it in the description, then we couldn't have any adult content on our page for non-subscribers and now our game is banned altogether. And we can't cut out incest out of the game to unlock our page either, so here's what's going to happen in the near future:
1. We're still going to finish 0.13. We won't get any money for it and it's going to be free (you'll find it on the torrent sites, there will be links on discord and telegram, etc.). 0.13 is going to be released on time because a lot of players are waiting for it.
2. Big Brother is going to be frozen and 0.13 is going to be considered a final version of the game for now. We may continue BB development if we find an alternative to Patreon.
3. Our Patreon page is going to be completely reworked and restarted without Big Brother.
4. Our team is going to start working on our new project Glamour full time. You'll know more about it on our new updated Patreon page.
5. We're going to continue giving you regular updates. New screenshots, gameplay mechanics description, interface, etc. We love making adult games and we're going to continue making them, regardless of the temporary setbacks. Stay tuned!

As far as ban is concerned: His work on Patreon will (officially) be for that new game Glamour (or whatever). There is no hole in that. As far as his private blog or another (payment) site is concerned, thats none of Patreon business.

(Like I have said earlier, in real life no employer cant forbid you to get 2nd part-time job to earn more money. So there is no conflict in ToS.)

Not mentioning it on Patreon will make those who will visit Patreon unsure. Playerbase is on Patreon. If they will see a page for a different thing they wanted they won't pledge.
Patreon can do anything. As I said they specifically forbidden gathering funds for BB. Risk is too high. I know people are horny but when it comes to your life income you can't risk. If he would do so he would be most likely banned sooner or later and no game would be developed fo us.

That's just how it is. If DoD will go down (I think it will soon) dev will most likely do the same thing. I am not really die-hard fan of any specific theme at all (incest, ...etc.), but I hate when some mind police tells me what can I play and what I cant. I am removing my funding to all guys who abandon their project just because Patreon said so.

It seems that the proposals are still repeating and not making a new one.
I think that you just have to wait for the development of events.

Patreon is not his employer, so employment law isn't relevant (and it varies from place to place in any case; see "at-will" states in the US). In theory, the setup you're describing is possible, but it seems like in practice, DS considers it too great a risk. We all thought the DoD/DMD unofficial patch approach would work, too, but it seems like Patreon are serious about this.

This is getting ridiculous there is so much woe is me chest beating.

@DarkSilver was giving a choice by Patreon, granted it wasn't a nice choice but it was a choice.

You can choose to support him or not, I never really cared about the incest value of the game and just played it as a dating sim.

I am going to point a couple of things out, relationships with step siblings/ parents is still incest in US law in certain states the same as with foster parents, it is like having a relationship with a teacher it is considered an abuse of power.

Patreon is a business they have every right to say what is allowed on their page (even if I don't agree with it) it is not fascism, if your supermarket stops selling your favourite things you have a choice stop using the supermarket or 'suck it up buttercup' as you are one person and they don't care about you.

For the people that say Paypal doesn't allow porn, have you been on vixen, mofos or Naughty America lately all those sites you can now pay with paypal.

I am not sure if DS did not calculate with the end of BB.
Why should just not his game be taken under review by Patreon? He should have known better! All other incest games (DMD, DOD, and so on)... That should have told him something. He had time to alleviate this problem. He had time to find a solution. But he does not have?! Why?

Everyone wants a continuation of BB. However, he denies almost all payment options offered to him. He hold fast onto Patreon and is under Patreons thumb with all their zero tolerance to almost all sexual content. What the hell?

As will my support. I didn't have any interest in Glamour when it first came out, and based on what I've seen and read so far in discord, I still don't. As others have said in this forum and elsewhere, when DS was first suspended, many people gave him suggestions for continuing the game elsewhere, and as far as I can tell he did nothing. I, for one, told him in a post and PM that he needed to make a plan B as it wasn't over, and that Patreon was adding more employees just for reviewing content alone. And again, he did nothing. Other games (like DMD) at least tried to start a website elsewhere for the game, which is why I'll continue to support that creator. I do wish DS well in his future game, but after I get this last BB update, that's it for me.

For starters they can claim your 2nd job infringes with your main job and fire you for that. Or say you drug the company name through the mud. And a dozen other things.

Do you think that people working in sensitive jobs like with important court cases, in industrial research, in important pharmaceutical research, in military facilities etc can just get another job and be paid by others?

Exactly, I have clauses in my contract preventing me to work for any competition companies. If I leave for a non-competition company, they take all my notes and creations during my contract with them as intellectual property. If I leave for competition, I have to pay them a big indemnity... as I receive more every month just that anything like this doesn't happen. It depends on your contract.

I would be surprised if Patreon doesn't have any kind of clauses against you taking your project from them and going for competition if they don't allow it. (which doesn't seem to be the problem here as Patreon want DS to stop BB)

The dummy solution seems to me the better solution for all parts, DS has a problem, even if he just wants to go "Glamour" only route, he knows some (probably many) won't follow him as let's face it, he isn't one of the best payed adult creators by giving us "vanilla sex", the fetishes sell!
If he goes the "dummy" route, all of his current patreons will move with him anywhere he wants, I don't even mind upgrading my pay just to see this happens... But I want BB not glamour. If it turns out glamour is that much better than all the competition, well then he can start to box BB & give full attention to Glamour.

Those who attack DS for not taking any actions should remember that he at least was developing Glamour for quite some time. Thanks to that he's not in such a deep shit as Dots. He seems to know he has no alternatives than Patreon and he's at least prepared to keep his page opened with some quality game. Look at Dots - he has to create new game from scratch, it has to have amazing quality to gain people's attention, he wants to keep DMD alive outside of Patreon which will make him develop 2 games at the same time which means at least 2 months for each update. That really unhealthy for both games and sooner or later something will be ditched or cutted off. Not to say about all other devs like Sin who really think they won't be banned at some point. Adapt or die is Patreon's policy and devs should remember that.

Like people have said. Patreon is the Facebook of crowdfunding at the moment. As it is NSFW content is only about a quarter of Patreons revenue and they really dont seem to care that much to lose it since theres not much competition at the moment. If there was any serious contenders right now Im sure Patreon would lighten up since no business in their right mind would risk a quarter of their revenue. Now seems like a good time for anyone given the climate over a lot of content to start their own website.
