You act as if Patreon is the only place in the world he could release this game.....
Even though the game was released today without any help from Patreon.

Yes Devs deserve to get paid for they work they do...
DS got paid for the work he released today!
And he got paid at minimum $2500 bucks a month for over a year to develop this game. (That assumes every patron paid only $1 and doesn't count all those $40 patrons he had).

Those people employed him for an entire year and I can certainly understand why they feel they deserve a finished product regardless of his collecting anymore money from them as he has made quite a bit already.

They were loyal to him especially those 40-50 some odd $40 patrons.
Yet at the first sign of trouble he pretty much abandoned them!

He should at least take some time over the next two months to work on both his NEW paid project and completing BB as he always planned.
If he wants to make money for that work then he can find a temporary pay site to use until the game is final and completed or live off the few who are going to stick to his Patreon payments that was supposed to go towards both games before all this happened. Maybe he will have to take a one off payment and send those folks the completed game when he finishes it.

But to just drop it when it could be finished in as few as two more releases is ust a slap in the face to all those who had faith in his product, gave him PLENTY of financial support to complete it for over a year, and deserve to not hear excuses that Patreon won't let him collect any MORE money from them so all the money they already gave was wasted ...sorry sucker!

It was released h ere because he found out a week ago and the game he said was mostly done already. There is alternatives, but not one thats going to bring him enough money. If he shut down patreon right now, guess what? he has to start from scratch meaning 0 money coming in to start. Right now, he has 2,200 patreons and has 88 percent of his goal. Now lets thinking. start over or try to maintain the 88 percent income he's getting now? Also, working on both games at the same time isnt going to happen, it would be half assed updates for both games a month and people would bitch that he's milking it even more.

He also said i believe here, that he's looking to make a website and to possibly continue the game.. which is why he said its on hold. Could he be blowing smoke? sure, but all we can do is wait and see, none of us are in his position. He has people working for him and he has to make sure they can pay their rents, feed their families ect ect. I think people lose sight of that part.

Anyways, i would love to see the game continue as well.

What kind of promise did DS make, and where did DS make that promise?

As far as I can see, the so-called "transaction" that you'd like to believe is:
1. Patron donated monthly (every 1st day of the month)
2. DS provided update of the game monthly (every 2nd day of the month)

And he did provide update of BB up to 0.13 when Patreon forced him to take BB down from the website. So for every single month that you pledged to him, he provided an update of the game. Where exactly is the problem? Is there ever a month that you pledged to him where he did not provide a game update? Absolutely no.

There is no promise/contract/agreement that DS will provide full completed game in return of your monthly patronage that may or may not continue/stop.

I'll put it this way. You have received from him BB game from 0.1 to 0.13. How many months are you a patron of his? Did you pledge for 12 months to support him for each update? If not, you're getting more updates than the month that you pledge. And you're complaining?

It's flabbergasting to see how pissy people are, despite the fact that it is DS who actually lost his income. People who are patrons will save money. People who are not patrons don't have any monetary investment to begin with either. Once again, people who are angry simply don't understand what Patreon is and have nobody but themselves to blame.

All the bullshit we went through, all the money he/she gladly cashed, and now all of a sudden he/she can't work on his/her project because Patreon "told em' to". If Dark Silver really is that much of a push over, I fear where his/her projects will lead to. It shows that the slightest disruption in monetary gain will make Dark Silver bend over and jump ship on the project they are currently working on. "Glamour" reeks of desperation, the main character being a female is a horrible fucking idea. The majority of us who play these games are males, we like to be males in games, we can't put ourselves in the situation of courting and fucking a guy. No offence, that's pretty gay. Even going for chicks while playing as one makes our skin crawl, it's just not us playing and making the decisions, we are conforming to a character that we can't and never will relate to. If you're a female, maybe that's great? But let's be honest, how large a portion of the market is female? Now I'd be highly skeptical of supporting any project with the name "Dark Silver" on it.

In the end, did we even get to take Lisa's virginity? Seems like a huge dick move if it doesn't even end with that.

i would have done the same fucking thing if i was him. He has people to pay, them people have families and rent to pay. What other reasonable way that he could set up in a matter of days would net him income to over expenses of his workers?

This is like early access video games, some of them, never make it out and are abandoned for whatever reasons. It happens. 99 percent of us here didnt even put any money down for his patreon, so it shouldnt matter to anyone that didnt spend any money.

Btw even if I wanted to play as female MC - just look at the render of Kate (Kate from Glamour, not BB Kate) - she has completely unnatural face, it's like a different person made the 3d model of her face. Nose, the base of her nose and even her eyes are all wrong.

Well that`s true, on the other hand you can`t get the game without pledging(legally, not pirating). So it`s kinda buying the game itself, it`s not all black and white to be fair... Supporting the dev would be the donation system for a game that he gives out for free, not this whole patreon thing. This pledges are more like encouraging them to actually do/finish something you like and it`s in the early phases of development. So after you are pledged for about 1-2 years, you kinda want a finished product for all that money, otherwise you can even look at it as some sort of scam.

You do get the game for free. The patrons only get early access to the latest release. Those updates are eventually released to the public for free. Having early access is a perk that is given to say thank you for your pledge. It is not a transaction where you pledge and be a patron in exchange of buying the game.

And this is more on a general level, not just DS/BB:
I`m no dev, I don`t really know what goes on in making a game, but: Why would someone need employees, as long as they take 1 month for an update which contains... let`s say 150 images. You, as a creator, allready know the story and how you want to put it, story wise it would not take that much time to write the update. There are not even that many "lines" to write. Do you really need almost a month for coding and rendering 150 images? Maybe if you`re alone...
When you add employees I would expect updates more often, or the monthy updates to be actually big, not the same as before. I really do feel like most creators are just looking to take as much money for the longest time possible, not actually doing/finishing something worthy, that him and his fans would be fond of.

That's why you're not a developer. What you said clearly sounded as if that person has no life but to create the game lol. People need breaks (they need sleep, eat, shower, poop, etc). Things don't always go smoothly (that's why bugs happened). People don't work 7 days/week for a whole month (that's why weekends existed). People don't work 24 hours/day (normal full time working hours is around 7.5-8 hours per day). So in a month, a full time worker usually work around 180 hours. How many hours to render one image? How many hours needed to test the product? How many hours needed to fix problems?

I don't want to burst your bubble but none should ever expect porn games to be finished. When you support a developer on Patreon, you are essentially paying for development time and not a finished product. The outcome (finished product) is like playing Russian Roulette, only that the revolver already has 5 bullets in the chamber. Almost no developer whatsoever has any code/business acumen. I don't know why people can't drive that in their heads.

While I agree with you to a certain point, you as a patron/supporter also need to curb your expectations. Imagine how easy it is for random smut games to flop when multi million game projects do the same (and by random I mean relative to triple A+ standards). Also (personal opinion here following) what kind of developing standards are we talking about? Everyone literally jumps the patron bandwagon the first moment they see a good DAZ render.

If I come in a thread and find that there are 20 new pages of content and can't find any relevant news in the last 2, I prefer to ask and not get an answer, than lose my time and search around for info about a porn game that I was not even pledging. I'm sorry that this bothers you, but I value my time and nobody is forced to respond to my questions.

I value time too and using the search option is even simpler than asking questions and waiting for a response.
