Holy shit I played this game two days straight masturbating. 5 hours first day and another 5 hours in the next day. Also I'm sure i'm progressing very slow in the game. Even with the cheats I just left home to meet with Lisa at the school... I hope i dont have to start over to go another "path". I hope there isnt any irreversible paths.

That there shows you that the whole "supporting the artist" idea that comes from Patreon is bullshit. People are buying a product and when they can't have it, they leave. Pretty sad tbh.
I think he will lose more patrons only if they won't like to play as barby-girl and being fucked by every man in the game.
Or maybe they don't like the new product and don't want to support him anymore.

What's sad about it? If the artist is doing something you're not interested in, you'd be mad to support it.
I would still be a darksilver patron if he had started developing something I wanted to play. Play a female MC and select in what way you want to try and seduce Bob the bartender? Bye.

No your post is bullshit, I support the artist not the product being made.
When BB promise romance I was all in but when it came out there will never be romance I stop support.
I was supporting @DarkSilver not BB.
We supporters, support artist that are making product that we like to play not the product being made.
That is exactly 'supporting the product and not the artist'. Like, exactly.

It becomes a little trickier when it comes to game developers. Its easy to see why there's this conflict of ideas, because patrons that support someone that makes drawings or youtube episodes are in fact supporting an artist. With game developers its harder to find the line, because peoples expectations are focused on the game.
Would you support Activision or the development of Call of Duty? Would you support EA or the development of Fifa? Would you support Valve or the development of Half-Life 3?

actually what you just wrote IS supporting the PRODUCT , cause when you didn't get the Product you want to pay for (Romance) , you stopped paying the artist .. supporting the artist meaning you'd pay him No Matter What he makes, or even if he dosn't make anything
from what i read on his patreon page , he's not stopping BB cause he want's to , but cause of patreon site new rules not allowing games like BB anymore. but if that's the case, can't he just move his work to another similar site but without this rule? he can keep working on the game thire and people who supported him on patreon can still support him on the new site.
I think that the whole "supporting the artist" gimmick is more applicable to your traditional artists. Even as a dev, I don't consider myself an artist. Even though I may fit all of "criteria" of an artist, I consider myself the maker of a product. If I stopped making the product, I would expect my patrons to disperse. If I was making a product they didn't want, I would likewise expect them to reallocate their funds to projects they are interested in.
I wouldn't take it personally, that's just the nature of trade.
Now if I was doing a podcast or something that didn't have a well defined end product like a VN, then I think the gimmicky "Supporting the artist" thing still applies.
Same here. On the surface his new game didn't appeal to me. And his teaser shots of empty rooms didn't really tell me anything about the game expect what the backgrounds are going to look like.
That isn't to say I won't come back if his next project ends up being really good. But On the surface, It didn't fascinate me. I'll give a try down the line though and render an official opinion at that point though just to be fair.
