I started following dwarf fortress development when I was 14. It didn't release until I was 31. Not every long project turns out bad.
I'm not going to disagree. I'm more pointing out how long this is taking. And for it to be taking this long, the improvements with each update should be more substantial.
What's present in Arena is decent. But at this point the devs are like construction workers you hire to build you a house, but they stop at the halfway point because they insist the texture of one random wall must be a
certain way before they build the rest of the house.
I've been watching this project since 2018 with a mix of lukewarm interest and long-standing exasperation. I was even subscribed for a few months, but I'm sure most people would think that's just not wise.
