lmfao I actually do to a certain extent if the set up to the encounter bores me or isnt exciting I move on sometimes it can take me an hour or 2 to find something I want to "research"

what I ask myself everytime I come to this thread when I see there is a notification lol. Ive yet to play this one been wanting to give it a try but the patreon being gone does make it look like it's dead dead not a case of a game that might return.

What do you mean with defenders? The game doesn't seem like it should warrant defenders or haters, just playrers with different tastes and opinions. Personally it was a good game that didn't get to flourish, did it have some porn logic to it, yeah, but it was alright.
It had so much potential at the beginning, and some of the girls were very cute, but holy fuck did they manage to screw it all up spectacularly.

Surprised this one wasn't abandoned sooner. The start was interesting but it just kept getting worse and worse with each update.
I mean, it's not that surprising, considering that the game didn't do well on patreon and people really dunked hard on the dev. Yeah constructive criticism is fine and all, but sadly that's not what most devs get on this and other sites.
I'm not saying the game was great and that dev didn't deserve some criticism, they did for some of their odd decisions. And it was mostly eh to meh level game, that had potential with the setup but failed to achieve anything good. But they were not first, nor will they be the last, dev that abandoned the game after being dunked like that. And you don't have to take my word for it, there's plenty of threads here were the dev basically says that they are abandoning this place and possibly the project, because of people basically being arseholes that can't give actually useful criticism and only resort to dunking on the dev. Sure many of the devs had unrealistic expectations on what they could deliver, Icaruslab included, and their game is shit, but that doesn't mean you can't tell them that and how they could improve the game in civilized manner.
Or maybe the devs can't handle it they are the ones that know the story and when devs say one thing and do the opposite this dev said many times the Mc would not be a beta bitch boy and yet he was a beta bitch boy the dev put himself in this not the people playing.
The main girl, Kate, was the only girl I really was interested in. Even the Kate AI program was removed, which is a real bummer. If anyone ever makes a spin off game with just her, I'd pay top dollar.
Well, to give dev in this case benefit of the doubt, they said that MC would not be such an pathetic loser after certain point of the story, iirc was meant to be about half way point for the story. And we didn't reach that point based on what the dev said in some of their posts. Iirc MC was meant to be taught by the older lady, whose bracelet one of the Bitch Squad stole, on how to be less of a pathetic loser and more of a ruthless and calculating character. Now i can agree that this took too long in the story to happen and should at least have started to happen by the chapter three.
But that doesn't negate the point that i made, that devs who constantly get barraged on and dunked on will lose their motivation to continue. Anyone who has ever actually spent time creating something knows that if all the feedback you get is just people going on and on about how what you do is wrong and not even being civil about how they express it, that it will kill any desire to share what you create with those people. And to emphasize, i'm not saying that you can't critique their creations, by all means go for it, just try to take the time and make it constructive with thought out comments. That way devs don't get so defensive, nor lose their motivation in creating games. And perhaps they might actually adopt things from your critique and change what they were doing. Bitching and moaning to them clearly isn't working and instead causes devs to leave this place.
Exactly. The whole beginning of the game heavily led players to believe it was going to be a satisfying revenge story with some laughs along the way, and the MC would ultimately get back at the cunts that made his life hell. It was stated several times in multiple places, by the devs, that he would not be a complete cuck bitch but then guess what happened...
The game was all over the place frankly. OMG let's turn this into a cheesy conspiracy with like this old chick that used to be in the sorority who is now rich helping them on the sidelines, and some of the chicks having super powerful dads that can pull strings from the shadows, and the administrators at the school are in on it on some level, and, and - that entire bit was straight up retarded. This is a big problem with VNs nowadays, way too many of them want to turn the story into some kind of fucking spy thriller and it doesn't fit 99% of the time.
As if that wasn't bad enough, they made this really bizarre choice of trying to make it so the player would feel conflicted about getting reveng. They clearly wanted to create paths where the MC ends up making friends with some or all of his enemies, and literal fucking romance paths for them - that is a really questionable story choice and makes the game INSANELY COMPLICATED to design, build, and maintain. When they started to realize the problem, their solution was "oh no worries we will just force some key choices so it only seems like the player can control their destiny" - right cause that usually goes over so well. Case in point, people were livid about the bit where the MC doesn't want to leak the footage of the one semi-nice girl from the evil group blowing him, but the game just forces it to happen no matter what options you pick. STUPID.
It kills me because again, this one started back when there weren't a million good VNs with visuals at that quality level, and it had potential. They NAILED some parts of it. I thought the beginning was hilarious, and they really could have struck a good balance of working in some silly hijinks with the MC and his semi-idiotic but technically savvy friend sometimes failing, but sometimes managing to get one up on the bitches and embarrass them. I also thought the stripping game in the dorm early on was really well done, it had a bunch of different possible paths and you could keep rolling back or reloading saves to get different outcomes. However, I can also see how shit like that scales up to an insane level of branching paths, dialogue, images, etc. - and would be extremely challenging to keep up. They should have realized that from the start.
