Thank you.
Yes, the game was never off the menu, I just ran into a lot of issues, from 2 computer crashes, to losing my coder, but things are back on track, and while things are still slow going, they are going. He is trying to fix the bigger bugs right now, so we can at least post the beta to the supporters soon. *fingers crossed*.

I wrote this with the story first, and the sex stuff last. In fact, that is the one part of this not really planned out ahead of time, I wanted to leave room for what my improving skills allow and what the fans request.
It's still not too late to make those requests for ch2.
Woof, that's a lot to deal with. Good on you for keeping going, not sure anyone sane would have blamed you had you just called it quits at all of that. I've loved what I've played so far, and look forward to as much more as you will give us.

<Ramble>
While I appreciate f95 doing the abandoned tag overall, I do hate how it hits (and hurts) projects like this where there's work being done, but its being done according to a plan that is benchmark based more than time based, and/or where there have been "welp, RL sucks" setbacks. I think at this point I'm more likely to look for a discord the dev of a game I like is active in (or their own discord) to track if a game is still being worked, vs trusting the tag.

I wonder if f95 has considered adding a "setback" tag that devs could ask be put on a project--if something major and unpredictable happens that won't kill a project but would 100% be reason for it to have a delay, give a X month delay to the abandoned tag being applied. (3? 4? 6?) Have a dev note in the first post explaining in broad strokes what happened and expected recovery time to get back on track. Can't do it more than once every year or two maybe.

Thanks.

Closest thing would be an On Hold tag, though I didn't think that fit me either, since I never really stopped working. Abandoned will be added after (I think) 6 months of not hearing anything from the dev, and 18 months no matter what. Several of us slower devs have run into that issue, it's frustrating, but it is what it is, I only hope they remove the tag before they update it on the latest page when it comes out. lol

But yeah, my primary goal was to put this game out as each chapter is done, not time based, though some of the later ones I might break up some, depending on how things go. Each chapter was planned to be larger than the one before it, over all (can't be helped, since I need to keep adding people. The cast is too large. lol).

The good news is I played the first official beta test not that long ago, though it had a problem with saves, so I wasn't able to share it with too many people. We are adding the Easter Eggs and navigation arrows to the free roam parts now, then I will get him to do another beta build, and see what is left to add. I am hoping to see that one this month, but we will see. It should be mostly feature complete, but we can always add more sex scenes if anyone has any good ideas we can work in.

I am not sure have completed Version 1 or not as does not seem to be anything else avaialble.
I finished the Main quest and appears to be no more main quests or even side quests.

Was it only just one main quest that was available?

I actually liked the Main quest looking forward for a new Main quest in Version 2 with maybe a side quest that links up to Version 1 Main quest. If that indeed at all makes sense

Yeah, sorry about that, the main quest was just an intro to the main characters and the world. Though you can run around, look for hidden extras/eggs, have sex with some of the characters, and things like that. We intended to have a message to let you know the story part was done, but it didn't get into that build.

That arc will be continued later, though we have something more important to take care of in chapter 2 (but you will get to see Kelle again soon, she is persistent).

Other than the sex and stuff, I have a rough draft for most of it planned out. Each chapter will be pretty much longer than the one before it.

This was me trying to keep the intro chapter simple. lol

Why Bonds of Blood is abandoned ?
It is not, just in development hell.
I lost my coder, my computer blew up, and a lot of other shit.

But things are back on track, and my new coder is learning as he goes, but he is improving, and we are close to done with chapter 2. Should have our 3rd beta test next week or so.

Small spelling mistake in the French translation, saying “and let out a sigh while YOU* (to YOUR) eyes observe the half-naked mortals present.” must give "et laissez échapper un soupire tandis que VOS* yeux observe les mortels à moitié nue présent"

I've noticed at least one spelling mistake per sentence in EVERY scene of the game for about an hour of play. I don't want to be mean, I don't know if the translator is fluent in French or if it's their native language, but the translation is pretty disastrous. It's obvious that you didn't use a translator to do the translation.

Sorry about that, that sucks. Sadly he quit on me part way through the first chapter, and my replacement hasn't done more than a few lines, The only ones that were complete were Spanish and Russian, and my Russian friend vanished a couple years ago. :(
So, at least for now, I will only have Spanish in Ch2, unless I get some more volunteers or use AI or something (might be my only option for one character starting in Ch3).

I will talk to my coder about options soon, see what we can work out. Need to get that going soon anyway for ch2.

Thanks for letting me know.

I understand, it's not a criticism! I used Unity Auto Translator for the French translation. I can get by in English, but when it comes to narrative games, I prefer to read in my own language. Your game must be in its early stages, because I've completed the first quest and I don't have any more quests to do. Maybe I've finished the first chapter?

Yeah, I totally understand. I used to try playing the old Japanese VNs that were only partly translated, and it was a challenge. XD

The first chapter was just in intro to the main characters and the world, so the main quest was really short. But you can run around, look for secrets, and have fun with some of the women in the game. The Mistress and ghoul have quite a few sex scenes, and the maids all have a tiny bit. I plan to add more for everyone I can with each chapter, though 2 has been a bit complicated with the new coder having to redo it all, but it should be better when we get there.

My goal is to have each chapter to be longer than the one before it (story is mostly planned), so hopefully it will go well.

Thanks again for checking it out.

Yes, I don't speak English fluently, but I can use a translator and then correct any spelling mistakes, syntax, expressions, and phrasing that the translator might not catch.
Well, if you are interested in trying, you can join my discord and we can talk about it.

Fair warning, chapter 3 will have a character with a Cajun accent, and I tried to write it out, like a mix between Gambit and Rogue (X-Men). I really feel for my translators on that one, though, being French, you might find it strange in a different way. Not sure if you know what Creole is, but it is a mix of Southern American English and French (and some other things). lol

I am working on the scene where we start looking for her now.

Yes, Cajun is a Louisiana dialect spoken by Acadians, a mixture of French and English. I saw a program about it. Cajuns originated in Acadia, Canada, and settled in southern Louisiana in the 18th century.

You say that like we're part of an ethnic group or something! There are all kinds down here that continue the tradition of butchering French. Kind of the quintessential melting pot. And colonial French is actually the origin. Later Acadian influence changed it, but it ended up being a mixture of both. So Cajun French is really Acadian + Colonial combined. Dialect also varies a lot depending on the area. You'll get a lot more Acadian dialect near Bayou Lafourche, more modern Cajun in cities like Lafayette, and old school impossible-to-understand Cajun in places like Ville Platte.

It will be a while until we get there, but she arrives in Chapter 3 (mentioned in 2). When I wrote her, I was channeling a mix of Gambit and Rogue from the X-Men, if when we get there, you take issue with anything she says (or rather the way she says it), feel free to message me about it. I am always happy to take feedback from native speakers for this stuff.

I wouldn't sweat it - just seeing us represented here and there tickles us plenty, even if it's not quite correct!
If you're going for accuracy, Gambit does get it wrong sometimes. I'm not too knowledgeable of the character, but I've heard him say "chere" a lot, which is Parisian French - here we say "sha" (love). Things like that. They're nitpicks though, not a big deal.
