How do you progress with mom if the basement scene is blocked?
That's literally the next step for me in the diary...

I figured i ask directly, Can you fuck the mom in this game?
Yes, but not right now. You can do it because one of the important steps towards it is blocked for a rework in the current version (0.19). You will be able to do so in the update 0.19.1 (supposedly it's coming today or tomorrow).

it's kinda sad that these people are whining about slow update in a site where you pirate games... i'm sure most of those people isn't even part of the supporter and yet they act like he owe them everything.
This is a terrible argument. You don't have to be scammed to be upset and voice concerns about someone who is participating in scam-like behaviors. The real moral good here is to pause your subscriptions if you cannot work on the game. Period.

Okay so this is where I might be considered naive by some. Because I see that argument thrown around a lot. But like I said, I'm approaching this from the perspective that he enjoys making the game. Yeah it's work. But it's not the kind of wage slavery most people deal with day to day. In this case his work is more like that of an artist than anything else. It's creative expression and totally within his power to explore whatever avenue he wants with it. Doesn't that sound liberating? Why stop? I mean someone suggested cocaine and hookers so that's a possibility I suppose. But barring some sort of drug or sex addiction I'd think any normal person would simply continue working on a passion project.

And one more point about milking games like this: is there an end anyway? Imagine Bones worked harder than any dev ever has on one of these games. If he doesn't want the story to end it doesn't have to. What are we going to do? Complain the game is too long?
I was a subscriber back in his patreon days (when the manor was on patreon). This was at a time when he released semi consistent. I don't remember the direct cause but I think patreon dumping the manor for the beasty content and him having to find subscribestar was the first big break of the manors development. People still paid him during this time when he entertained other projects, and had things like kofi or whatever the fuck the coffee thing is for content creators. At this point he realized people would pay him in the HOPES that he would release the manor.

I've been following this project almost since the beginning, and there is no telling how many starts and stops he's pulled. It essentially has become release twice a year and spend the rest of the year doing nothing, maybe releasing a teaser to hold over the desperate until the other bi annual release happens.

Of his excuses I remember the patreon/subscribestar switch, the I'm worn out from working on the manor bit, the I need to work on other projects to avoid burn out, the I'm sick with kidney stones (now gall stones). There are probably more things I'm forgetting.

The hookers and drugs thing is something we make fun of him here for because on his discord, during the height of his kidney stone situation, he told all his discord followers he was going to spend his birthday getting drugs and hookers. That is from him, not us.

If bones could guarantee clowns spending 4000 dollars on him every month for the rest of his life because people hope he releases sometime, he'd never work again. This isn't a passion project, it's a project he's forced to do occasionally because he can't make that money in Uruguay doing anything else.

He'd should've just done a webcomic instead of an actual game. Or collabed with Jackerman since Jackerman is always on his discord, but seems to be 1000 percent better at releasing content.

The best idea anybody has had was that at the start of every thread the updates having a timeline of their release dates so people can actually track releases and see how sus they are when they are released bi yearly. Remember this game has been going since 2018. We are now on the short end of 2022 not that far away from 2023. He's also done some shady renumbering of his releases. Remember this is supposed to be like 17.1 or 17.2. Not 19.0. 19.0 gives the implication that he has released more than he has.

That's true, look at this game and everyone will remember how many excuses he made to fool people who pay.

Well I can't argue with that. I know virtually nothing about the situation. I just find it surprising that someone would do something this niche and it not be a passion project. Again, maybe I'm just uninformed and naive but developing a porn game seems like something someone would choose to do for fun. Profit being welcome of course but more of a "Oh shit you guys will actually pay me to do this?" vs "I am doing this to be paid." If that makes any sense at all.

Ah well. At the end of the day it is what it is. We can only wait and see. Thanks for the context though.

This is no shit the best idea anybody has had on the subject. It'd be nice to be able to just point at the overall timeline and show the repeat offenses instead of having this same conversation over and over and over.

This discussion is ultimately pointless. There is no common ground that can be reached, no arguments that can be made for either side to change the other's mind, and all it will be in the end - as has mostly been the case - basic name-calling and the flinging of insults.

The problem is that we have here two different, wholly incompatible interpretations of the situation, both of which are arguably valid and either could possibly be true.

One side believes that Bones is still a genuinely nice creative who doesn't really care about the money and just wants to make a game. They think he just hit some hard times and needs all the support he can get, and that the other group is reinforcing a destructive cycle that is somehow preventing him from recovering from the stresses of creative endeavor. Thus they believe that the lack of progress can, at least in part, be attributed to those who speak out against Bones for continuously demoralizing him. In short, they believe we are to blame.
The other side believes that Bones was once a genuinely nice creative, but that he got corrupted by his own staggering success and, possibly after some hard times, realized that he has a loyal following who will continue to finance an extravagant lifestyle for him even if he only does the bare minimum (while simultaneously redefining what the "bare minimum" even is). This side thinks that the support he receives will only reinforce this destructive cycle of megalomania and greed, and that he must be called out and held responsible for the funds he has received, the promises he has made and the lies he has told. Thus they believe that the lack of progress can, at least in part, be attributed to those that support Bones for rewarding his bad behavior. It short, we believe they are to blame.

Diametrically opposed and entirely incompatible. I'd say that the evidence is mostly for one side rather than the other (though I won't say which), but really, I'd recommend each side to mostly ignore each other. We won't change each other's minds, and insulting each other won't change anything besides potentially escalating the conflict.
In the end, the only one who can prove one side or the other correct and end the conflict is Bones himself. Whether that is going to happen... well, let's just say that remains to be seen.
I'm just going to drop this quote from a post of mine for a while back, since it seems even more relevant now than when I first wrote it.

Unless bones learnt how to code save compatibility, there's no points in playing 0.19 cuz you have to start all over again in 0.19.1 anyways.

Actually you'll have to wait until .19.2. 0.19.1 will be filled with the same bugs that plague all of his updates.

...is that really it? I had honestly thought he was going to surprise people with a larger update than what he'd been saying. I usually like to sub for a month on an update I would actually play, but I'm not getting scammed like this. And I hate to call it a scam, but this is just absurd.
i think this update was just a way to announce his return, who knows. Big stuff might be coming.
