He's changed his stance on the quest system and has suggested that he may go with a system similar to a game called "slime rancher" when it comes to unlocking new areas, whatever that means, I never played slime rancher. Whatever he chooses he's only going to use the obscure stuff for out of the way events that won't impede gameplay. The "minigame" for capturing is placeholder. Most of what people find issue here are things the dev is well aware of such as how the tag system is for breeding, the capturing minigame, lack of clothes, ui, breeding board being useless, etc. He prefers smaller, frequent updates but the side effect is that we end up with unsatisfying placeholders for long stretches of time.Having tried it out:
The quest opening is completely unintuitive and at no point does it give any markers or dialogue to tell you what to do with the slimes. That starting quest is such bullshit.
Also, the camera is fucked. You have to be able to click during scenes to keep the character from climaxing but that's THE ONLY WAY TO CONTROL THE CAMERA. Jesus christ. There has to be a way of controlling the camera that doesn't make you instantly lose an encounter. WTF
Other than that the game is way ahead of the curve in terms of graphic design, sexual content, and customizability for both the main character and bred creatures. I just wish the developer would focus on the core gameplay a little more.
Currently he's working on a part of that core gameplay in the form of progression but is finding difficulty finding his stride in introducing limits on a game that most people bought in on being an open sandbox. No matter what he decides he'll aggravate someone, you can't just leave a game open ended from the start for over 3 years only to suddenly limit what people can do without getting some backlash. Part of what I think made people detest it so much is how vague it was to progress, if everything was laid out better and more obvious I think it would have been better received.
