The way Breeding Season ended was a mess in many ways, that much is not being questioned, but if we refuse to delegate and/or reach out for cooperation out of fear that someone might kick us in the jingles, nothing will ever get done anywhere (within a reasonable time frame). That applies to both game development and life in general.Like others have said: Look how Breeding Season fared
I'm fine with the game taking a long time to finish or update as long as it steer clear of similar drama and burning to death because of some Cloud Meadows asshole.
He Who Shall Not Be Named killing Breeding Season only proved that there are some dunces out there with little regard to what they do and who they hurt, but I have sincere doubts that every professional artist and coder in existence is out to scam people, especially when their livelihood hinges on said professionalism.
Now, I ain't kicking the game in it's proverbial nuts here, I'm honestly rooting for it. I've been starved for this kind of content since Breeding Season went tits up and I want this game to succeed so I (and many others, I imagine) can finally fill that void. However, the vast majority of people aren't patient. The game taking a long time to finish or update might be an acceptable compromise for you, but most aren't willing to stand in the same place for too long with nothing to show for it, especially when they have money in it. This is true for anything between triple A titles and porn games. People will get tired/bored, cancel their pledges and move on to support another game/project. That's what I'm afraid of - that support begins to cease, the dev cuts his losses and pulls the plug. That seems to be a common occurrence when it comes to this specific type of game.
