I like a balance myself. If there's not some sort of quest, then it's just an elaborate masturbation aid that doesn't entertain me beyond getting off. But I know everyone has different tastes and desires.

Hopefully after these gates there won't be further updates focused only on gameplay mechanics, and Derelict will finally start to focus on polishing the essential aspect of a porn game: the actual sex scenes.

Nevermind the sound aspect, all the female characters have the same identical face as the female breeder.
I find it disturbing and distracting, i don't know how other people here feel about this.

A good porn game has to be immersive and make the player instinctively think "I wish i was actually there".
Monster Girl Island is a really good example of this aspect and not because it's heavily story-driven.
It' s also a good example of a dev that knows what they're doing.

It's good for a change that a porn-game dev devices focuses a lot on the gameplay but... yeah, this is getting ridiculous.
When did this game came out, in 2017 i believe?

I love the concept and its "setup", but I'm getting tired of watching SwTFM. (Sex with thicc, faceless mannequins)

I believe as well that the whole "solo" developing is just an excuse to come short on updates.
It's actually not impossible to find assistant developers who would substantially contribute to the game and follow his indications, rather than "destroy" it.

For him anything that involves getting extra help might mean less money for himself, managing this stuff aswell that people do their assigned tasks or someone who might come up with a different opinion on how to do this and which ofc he might disagree with etc.. so i think he just want´s to do it at his own pace and even tho the game is empty at times with new things to do with every build(f.ck these gates) from were i saw it the first time years back it has become more interesting tho a bit more customization is always appreciated.

(Sry if i spelled anything wrong in here, i am rather used to short responses xD)

I'm just going to go ahead and say my peace and probably set this tread to ignore until December so I can finally be free of my thread updates being filled with people bitching and moaning about this game being a one man show every other day.

I've followed this game since it's beginning and in its beginning this game was popping in development. You had basically a page worth of new content every week to 2 weeks with areas being fleshed out, new species being added, and new scenes being developed. But after the starfallen race was developed, production noticeably slowed. I'm not going to pretend to know what happened. I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt since there was already so much that had been done. Then the spirit form stuff came out and my interest peaked again for this game. Then updates 0.727 and 0.728 came out in the span of 3 and a half weeks at the end of 2019.

It was practically nothing and I got worried it was going down the Malise and the Machine path. Then a lot of QoL updates came out afterwards, so I though nothing of it. I went back and tried an old build before all of them and the game was noticeably rougher to look at.

Then the updates with the gates happened. I'm not going to pretend that I think they're a good idea, but I do recognize the want for an actual progression system. And if that's what his discord of patrons (the people who are paying for this game) are asking for, then so be it. If you don't like it, get in there and protest instead of bitching in this joke of a thread. Every single time I come here its some douche with few actual posts saying the same tired crap trying to get internet points.

My point is that I've long since given up trying to defend this guy. At this point I'm just tired of people saying the same thing over and over again and not being helpful or adding anything new to the conversation. It's just become a massive circle jerk of people flooding the thread copying each other for upvotes. Is he going solo to hog the money or to just come short on updates? I don't fucking know and neither do you (everyone reading this). There are many reasons why he could be doing this, but I really just don't care. He's said in the past that it's his passion project and he felt that bringing people on would derail it, which is understandable. Is that the real reason? Once again, I don't fucking know and neither do you. All I know is that's all he's ever said about the subject matter and that's all I ever thought of it.
