They seem to have a weird obsession with their other game (first project syndrome?). I've played it and it's not really that special, it's a very episodic/railroaded porn game for the most part. I'm pretty sure their fanbase is more interested in this game because it's a niche genre followed by a refugee crowd of people who wanted Breeding Season/Cloud Meadow, yet they insist on making that game the forerunner of their "studio".I don't play the other game... why wait for the other game to release a update?

They also could be buying time as someone else said, I don't imagine this is their day jobs so they're fitting it in around that plus life, but I remember the last big update was delayed a week with a "we will definitely get it out by X date" only for it to be delayed for a month, so I imagine they have a habit of being overly optimistic of deadlines.
Both issues seem like symptoms of early project managers/developers, they'll learn the ropes but means we get weird responses like this until they figure out how to plan properly/sensibly
