I love how uninformed people always praise Ren'Py, Flash, and RPGM games of all things and then shit on Unity because they played some Slender clone on their 2.4GHz craptop years back.

If it'll handle KSP and The Forest, I'm sure the 2D porn game will be okay on the engine. Anyways, any way to edit save files?

My only problem with Unity is that a lot of games just don't seem to work for me, for some reason a lot of them just decide they have to run at 1000FPS no matter what settings I choose, even if I use third party programs to limit them.

Tiny little porn games shouldn't make my GPU eat itself when I can play The Forest just fine...

Solid writing there. only shame is that this game just isn't done yet.
The blackout game could have a look at again and the breeding system is interesting.
Also while developing, maybe making it clearer that the end of the build is reached?

That's an issue with the developer, not the engine. If the Forest (running on Unity) can be a full, open-world beautiful 3D game and run with no problems, yet a short 2D hentai game is causing your GPU to crash/overheat, then it's clearly how the tool is being utilized, not the tool itself. Unity is great, some devs aren't.

Calling it "Version 0.1" heavily implies there will be updates or further versions. 0.1 is almost always "first public release of unfinished game". Their Patreon suggests more content is coming for those games as well. Where are you getting your information?

Yeah I'm confused by the Unity hate and RenPy love here, I have RenPy threads blocked because it mostly all seemed like low effort shit and people spamming premade assets to make shitty VNs. Wadding through that sea of shit is worse than trying to find decent RPGMaker games here. They flood the entire site and I couldn't find anything decent without filtering it. I mean look, there are about twice as many RenPy threads as RPGMaker and Unity, doesn't say much for the quality if they're that easy to spam. They all look exactly the same to me.

I can't recall having issues with Unity specifically. This was one of the only RenPy threads I follow I think (Followed before I found the filter in preferences).

Skipped the 0.3 version on renpy. playing now the new 0.15 on unity, merchant never showed up, talia never moved to forest shop and i dont seem to have a way to return to the elf village. i did both cece dates, tavern and forest (forest without the lolipop option), watched all 3 showers events, did poe quest and already have the elf "volunter" at farm. anyone else with similar issues? hell i dont even know what to do for talia to move to the forest, only know she does because of changelog. also, by day 50 still no wolfboys in the store and most of my requests are wolfboys, and the levels they are asking, wow, something must have went wrong with the values during the port.

Ok I'm just gonna ask since honestly I'm here for the porn not to play a management game does anyone know how to edit this games save files? I wanna give my self a metric ton of money and just coast through but I'm not savvy enough with unity over all to understand how to edit the saves. If anyone knows how I'd appreciate it if not that's fine I'll just have to shelve this until I can figure out how to save edit unity.

same thing over here too. also the black jack is busted too, i think.
so im not sure whats going on with the game. also the time for my requests are not running at all. okay to train a low level bull (with no skills) to level 17-18 in 12 days is not really possible. if the time is not running, i have one problem less. XD

It's a bit weird, but try hitting escape or clicking the save file icon once again. After that, the red "X" in the top right should work correctly.

It's so true. Ren'Py is just a simple way to toss images on a glorified adventure game engine without text entry. Any Ren'Py game with a large amount of images, videos, or minigames will always have issues because the engine simply isn't meant for that sort of thing even if it's supported. Save file sizes can get bloated, rollbacks will quit working leaving you screwed without realizing it if your save is bugged.

Compression isn't that great in Ren, things like asset streaming are entirely impossible (meaning large games will always have large downloads, unlike some Unity titles), startup times on Ren'Py can get ridiculous (I have an i7, 16 gigs of RAM, and only SSDs, yet Summertime Saga can take up to 15 seconds to do anything after clicking the .exe), you have to use an extractor program to grab images/assets from game files or even install some mods.

Unity isn't perfect, it's as good as the developer. RPGMaker is quite limited in the games it can make, but it's stable, well-documented, and easy to understand/develop for. Ren'Py is a visual novel tool being used for porn games, and works about as well as it should in that capacity.

I'm not saying developers should hop over from Ren'Py or anything, I'm just baffled why any time a Unity game pops up people complain about the engine. I guess it's just a meme from all the shitty Slender games and PewDiePie videos from the mid 10's that gave Unity a bad name. Also, I guess the Unity logo popping up before any title made with the free version is partly to blame, as people unwilling to invest money into their game probably don't make great games.

I know but the problem is it's such a common issue that it makes sense for me to avoid Unity games because they're so very often poorly optimized. Compared to Ren'Py where I almost never have any problems, basically only with outdated saves and stuff.

Unity can do some amazing things but I haven't seen many adult game developers use it all that well. Ren'Py is pretty idiot proof it seems.


FYI I don't have this issue with Breeding Farm, seems to work well for me, not slating these developers here.

No, I didnt think it was directed to me. You spoke generally and I felt included since I was one of the people who had a complaint about Unity. We disagree on platform preference. Reasonable people can disagree.
No harsh feelings was received or intended. I was just reminding the thread that it wasnt just a discussion about features of Unity, but functionality, in my specific case.

Doesnt seem like there are very many actual scenes at all, only a couple scenes for the monsters and none so far that I have found for male monsters.

looking for a save editor for the game I found out that it uses Naninovel for unity and from what I have read it makes the game a whole lot easier to mod if people want to make mods for it when the game is complete looks like the creator of the game thought ahead and knew how crappy unity is for VN and modding so thought about us and the long term playability of the game and with Naninovel the mod maker can make it where all you have to do is download the mod onetime and keep the updates on google drive it has a lot of good features check it out
