This problem is tied to the method used to manage translations.Also, there are numerous lines of dialogue that appear in Russian even when the selected language is English, is this also a known issue?
Usually renpy translation files are maps of "sentence in original language" - "sentence in translated language", and so if some translation is missing is easily fixed by the user (better than nothing using Google translate).
In this game they have used another feature of RenPy: the translated sentences are not associated directly to the original sentences but to a label composed by the nearest RenPy label and a trailing number which is automatically generated...
...so if the translation of "спасибо" is missing, I cannot fix it by simply adding "спасибо"-"thanks" to the translation... Because the key to which "thanks" must be associated is not guessable
IDK why RenPy offers also this feature for managing translations: I guess it's more difficult to manage even for the original developers, and not only for other people who would like to work as a translator (pro or amateur).
