It's been a long time since the last update, but now I can explain it, because of both family and personal problems
I agree that v0. 2 was not a good enough update, but the update I'm working on right now will take you back to the early days of the game as a genre
I did everything possible to continue to do this job in the right way, currently, the development process is ongoing
I've given up on a dark and tarantino-style story, but that doesn't mean that it will continue in a universe where everything is perfect, of course there will be drama-weighted scenes, but this time it will be much more reasonable.
I am eternally grateful for both your returns and your support so far

hmm i can understand a delay with information because of personal problems but nearly 2 month without communication is a bit much. the info to return to the early days sounds good but this was only the second update (with the first being only a side story)
dosnt that mean starting over from the prouloge version? that there still will be drama is totally understandable damn which daughter/student would be intimate with a man/father/teacher in his 40´s if she didnt have some kind of a problem
.but as long it remains reasonable/realistic (maybe even in porn tropes realistic) it should be ok.
still will be a skeptical cause not even a tiny bit of information why the story did such a drastic turn or why he thought after the succes of the initial release (which really was a different game/genre) this direction of the update would be good or plausible.
i think only time will tell and maybe im a bit pessimistic but i think the announcment has somehow a bit to do with the patreon money wich seems to have stagnated or even dropped after the update (gained a few patreons but lost money)

On topic though, good to know the creator is willing to accept feedback and adjust his plans. I look forward to the next update.
Regarding personal/family issues, I honestly don't hold it against em. I was dealin with stuff for months related to personal stuff last time something major happened. To be honest, I feel bad about dropping my subscription. I would have had to do it anyway (as I have a couple others), since my pre-paid card is almost empty. I'll definitely re-sub once I pick up a new card.
I'll always wonder what direction Betisis was headed. Hopefully, this whole... uh... "happening" won't discourage them from making this game theirs and not just whatever the crowd cries for.

I'm glad Betisis is taking feedback on board and is reviewing the direction he took the game in 0.2. I know getting a negative reaction to something you worked hard on can be a real kick in the balls. I'm hoping he still gets to tell the story he wants to tell, but in more fluid and structured way.
My advice, don't throw out 0.2 but keep it in reserve as a side story to the main game much like he did with the twins back story. My concern is he loses his passion for the project because he feels he has to keep patrons happy so he just goes through the motions.

My thoughts on the statement:
First of all, it's good that the personal and family problems have (apparently) been solved.
What goes through my mind: I am uncertain whether Betisis understood the criticism of the people who argued more factually. At least I expected to some extent rather darker or possibly criticism of the press (especially the yellow press), to quote one of my earlier arguments in which I also argued that the original premise was not bad, but then you took a wrong turn somewhere at 0.2. In general, I think that darker AVNs are not necessarily bad. On the contrary. I have to think here for example of The DeLuca Family, becomes significantly darker particularly in terms of the story of the MC and a female character compared to Buried Desires. I am reluctant to compare AVN with each other because each dev has a different style, which is perfectly legitimate, however, here you have the option to skip certain content and the humor creates a certain degree of balance in the plot. Of course, depending on your experience, it may be harder to find the right amount of humor without it getting cringy. Not to mention the "right" kind of humor, for example, Michael Bay style humor would put me off rather than entertain me.
I think the Tarantino style is not an easy model to follow. Since it's been a while since my last Tarantino film, I looked up what makes up his style and the core elements in this analysis were dialogue, close to reality, humor, violence and profanity, highly stylized characters. I admit that a single update can sometimes find this difficult to reconcile, so another problem: in all this, a not entirely unimportant element was forgotten: The player. In the end, I would say that if any VN I know comes close to Tarantino's style, at least for me, The DeLuca Family is very close.
I don't want to badmouth Betisis, my intention is to suggest that he look at how other devs with a similar target audience handle more problematic content, because at the end of the day Buried Desires isn't a movie or a novel in the classic sense but rather a kind of interactive visual novel.
I'll definitely give the next update a chance and see what Betisis has in store for Buried Desires.

You may be right. Wish the dev would enlighten, though. He’s unnecessarily alienating his fan base with his silence on the subject.
