VN Ren'Py Abandoned But I'm the Bad Guy? [v0.081] [DLGB]

DLGB hasn't appeared in the discord for 2 months, it seems we can slowly start to worry and talk about abandonment again
I think if he doesn't appear by the end of this month, this could be the end, for the near future for sure.
The question is whether something serious happened to him IRL, or he is fine, sees all the anxiety in his discord channel and just keeps quiet.

I'm one of 50 subscriber star supporter and after 24th November just radio silence. I was worried and last week I wrote a DM but until now no reply. I'll wait until April last day to put abandoned tag for me and unsubscribe

I know I'm off topic for the thread and the game.
But so many Americans have told me that the French (although I'm not really French) are lazy and, etc ... (sorry, it's really only Americans that said that.... English say it in another way )
And then I like words so much, whether they're French, English or anything else... writing, communication... This kind of message always makes my skin crawl. And then you can so easily make them say whatever you want... It's really a shame and even dangerous.
OK, sometimes I feel a bit too old for this age, but when you see what some people are starting to make statements and social networks say, I still believe that writing in full sentences using whole words is much better.

Anyway, for me, it was, really a good unique game and I do feel bad that it is abandoned

Oh yeah, it's possible he had to enlist for his country. That game was so good, I really wish I could’ve seen how the story would continue with Riley’s family. I’m really drawn to very dark AVNs like this one… Aaah, such a shame!

Right now, nobody "got sent" to the frontline; there are enough dudes willing to gamble their lives for the pile of cash. DLGB gets at least $1227 monthly, and that is more than enough to live on in Russia, so I doubt he is on the frontline.
Let's just hope he will come back with an update.

I've not seen any messages where he's stated that.

Even if he hasn't said anything, it doesn't mean it's not abandoned. At this point, I assume every game that isn't finished is going to be abandoned just so i'm not disappointed if it happens

That's exactly the kind of realistic thinking that makes the House always the winner in gambling. Sure, a fraction of a percent get lucky and win big, but that's a drop in the ocean compared to all the other suckers and addicts who give their money away thinking "i'm the one in a million who will win!!"

With AVNs/games the House bet is on all projects being abandoned. Every once in a while we get lucky and a good game gets finished with a complete and logical ending that isn't rushed and doesn't ruin the story. But for that trifecta it's almost the same odds as winning a national lottery.

Lots of garbage money-grab games get finished. Lots of games get an abrupt ending slapped on when a dev wants to move on to another project but doesn't want to get labeled as an abandoner. But it's by far the smarter bet to never assume a game you really like will get finished in a satisfying way, because you are only setting yourself up for disappointment. Better to just appreciate it when you find ones you llke and then be pleasantly surprised if one or two of those breaks the House and makes it all the way to a satisfying ending. (And maybe then consider throwing that dev - who has accomplished a rare feat - a few bucks if you haven't before.)
