NEXT UPDATE.
C-Plan v0.04 (80% - on hold*)
*Following our private message to you guys early this month, for now, we decided to focus on re-coding the whole game to comply with Patreon's Community Guidelines and Terms of Services.
We will keep the current characters design, but we might have to change this game's story/narrative. We're also doing some research right now whether to keep the current game engine or to change it. With that being said, the next release will be like a reboot for this project.
Don't know why they would need to rewrite the game though. A patch is very simple and easy to make. If they don't want to release the patch on patreon, just upload it through this forum instead, when releasing a new update. It's not that hard, guys.

The dev was already caught breaking their rules so he probably doesn't want to risk getting in trouble with them again. He will probably make significant changes to the story so there is not any hint of incest.

There isn't any risk to releasing a patch on another site. Hell. F95 even provides a link "lewdpatcher" or something for developers that would want to stay anonymous. You can replace whole lines of dialogue with ease through a patch so really. There is no benefit to rewriting the whole game and changing entire scenarios. Just replace the lines that hint towards incest if the patch isn't applied.

If he had done that from the beginning there wouldn't be any problem, but he was linking the incest patch that was on this forum, on his patreon. So I get why now he doesn't want to risk it.

He can still link the patch to the forum. Patreon doesn't want incest on their site only.

Not sure how many patrons they have however I think they are only playing for time now. The development was slow anyway and they might think they would get much more patrons at the early stages but that didnt happen.
Just my opinion

i don't remember exactly and i don't feel like going back through the thread but i think they got caught linking to this site or suggesting a patch was available on this site. So i think their fear is pateon will check up on them here

I'm no lawyer but Patreon has no legal right to demand they shut down creator's uploads on other websites.

right but, again this is just my recollection, Patreon can ban them from their site because that is against their ToS
it was a rookie mistake. Plenty of devs get away with the "questionable" content perfectly fine and stay on Patreon, they're just smart about it.

no i don't believe they do .. but they can close down sites links that link back to them .... if i'm not mistaken .... which means ... and game they deem unworthy of their site .. that links back to their site can be shut down ... their rules are hard to get seeing there are so many that are confusing ...

They don't but they can shut down the page on their site which is what they did.

If you are going to host your game on a site that doesn't want incest, don't link to the website or patch that adds in incest that's just common sense.

These devs decided to bend common sense over a barrel and butt fuck it dry now they are trying to avoid any and all connections to anything incesty and redo their story.

They nearly lost everything once, doubt they will try and do it again.

No one said anything about linking to another site that has the patch. I said the patch should only be uploaded to another site. Common sense should tell you, that a game that has incest in it, somewhere has an incest patch. Upload it anonymously somewhere else before you release your game and Patreon can't get you. What "other people" mod in, Patreon can't blame you for. You're literally giving away an incest free game to patrons, while still providing people with a means to experience the story, how it was intended. It's on the patrons then to know what Google is.

The devs here DID link to the patch/website that is why they ended up having their page shut down.

It also means Patreon are going to be watching them so if they have anything that can be patched to incest they will likely fuck them over again.

The only way to avoid that and appease Patreon is to avoid anything incest related which is why they are rewriting.

They don't want to lose too much income. Even if they followed some of the less than sensible ideas people have of moving to Subscribestar they would still lose that money because Subscribestar has a much much much smaller user base.

No they won't. Do you think there is a guy who looks at the developer's potentially encrypted code, sees that some words could be replaced by literally anything, then decides that it has to be incest and shuts the game/developer down? Did this EVER happen, because I seriously doubt that. Like I said, Patreon can't prove the developer uploaded the patch. Even if the developers rewrite the story, some other guy who's unrelated to them could develop a patch through a mod thread. Literally every game on patreon that has an incest patch right fucking now, even ones that originally didn't have incest, would be in trouble if things worked out the way you described. These patches came into being in the first place to not get in legal trouble with patreon. To solve their problem they only have to upload the game without incest and any patch link. Nothing else. The incest isn't even in the code. What they upload to other sites anonymously doesn't concern Patreon.

I talked to a couple of developers, and I'm obviously not saying any names because I don't want anyone to get in trouble. But from what they said, patreon has people searching through this forum to see if they can catch anyone breaking their TOS. That is why the devs don't really talk about the patches even outside of patreon.

Good. They shouldn't give out that they uploaded it.

But who's fault is that ? the dev or patreon ? if the dev was stupid enough to link to that he should not cry that patreon took action against that. But he linked it from his own patreon page. that is the mistake on the dev part not patreon part.

Oh yeah it's 100% the dev's fault, I don't even understant how he thought that it would be ok to link a patch on his patreon for something that he knew was against their TOS.

The rule shouldn't exist in the first place (for very obvious reasons) but the developer should have had the foresight to remove the link to a patch, especially once the cash really started flowing and he was more vunerable to a ban.
