Okay, lets place ourselves in the hypothetical shoes of the original supporters that payed for the original vision of the game like this for a sec.
You are passionate about a thing and payed a sum total of something between 50 and 250$ over the 4+ years, maybe more if you are well off or have it hit all the right spots when it comes to promises, only to one day learn that original vision of the game that you funded is axed and the only way to get it back on track is to hope that an arbitrary goal on another platform is reached and wait patiently for a about a year to get to that special "will be in 3 updates from now" content that you was the most excited about.
Sounds nice, fair, and more importantly, totally trustworthy. Its not like they already payed for the promise of the stuff they wanted for years, only to get the carpet yanked right from under them.
Or that, in cases when there is an actual care about satisfying those customers from creators, as well as about preserving the original vision - a taboo patches of misterious origin suddenly appear in the mod sections of sites like f95 free of charge, or at the very in the cheaper tiers of a payed section on other platforms where creator wishes to migrate, without prerequsites.
I rest my case. I personally was duped in simmilar manner few times too many over the years, and I feel pity for those that are still fooled into paying via bait and switch tactics like I belive I curently observe now, only to get the content they payed for - denied.
One shoud always wait until the content you are interested in to actually appear in the game before supporting it with even 1$.
Or am I actually wrong about you and you also made an effort to advertize refunds as an option for those that suddenly did not get the promised content due to no fault of their own?
You know, kinda like the place that serves food that suddenly ran out of stake and offered refunds for said stakes, instead of serving salad and then claiming that it was the choice of a customer.
