Im not sure if the game is bugged. The guy never finishes repairing the helicopter and I have no missions left to do from the general, so i cant go to the dreary desert. anyone have a clue what to do?

If I remember correctly, keep exploring south and you'll find an elf town. On the very right of the town there's a shop where you can buy the elf clothes. After you do a quest for the shopkeeper I think.
Check your quest log and keep exploring until you find the missing elf. It's not that hard to figure out.
Then I don't know what to tell you other than keep exploring. I don't remember the quest all that well.

Raven is actually the "witch companion" (i know it's not rly a species but whatever). Brody is the human companion. After you find and finish the quest for the helicopter guy from the general in Arcton, go to the town to the left of the copter. You will see him being arrested by a cat policewoman (don't ask). Go into the police station, talk to him, and complete his quest. After he can be found on the beach. Talk to him if you want him to follow you.
