So TL;DR - from a narrative and character perspective it makes sense to me (particularly since neither Jaye or Mal are particularly happy with the open relationship situation), but from a gameplay perspective I can understand why people find it frustrating.

That's my case. While I don't share all the frustration and drama around the assumed lack of content for the SGs, I was still hoping for the poli path with the two MGs. Turns out, it is almost impossible without a detailed study of the walkthrough.
I don't like to be distracted from playing the game to thoroughly study the manual.

Apart from that and rather small amount of lewd scenes, it is a great game. Writing, graphics, plot - everything is top notch.

so I finished my re-plays and checked out the 4 main endings... gotta say, while the ending is fine overall, I do think it's a bit disappointing in terms of production quality, particularly considering the update took around a year to be done... there's not a lot of variation for the different paths, and not a single animation? that's a bit of a shame, it gives the game somewhat of a rushed ending vibe.

but eh, as far as avn endings go, I've seen A LOT worse, so there's that... it could've been worse =P

I don't use it for this, but I believe URM allows you to edit the text in this way. Otherwise, you can manually edit the gui.rpyc file, which is what I did. You'll need to use unren or similar to extract the file (it's archived in scripts.rpa) and then change the following lines:

I've never seen this on multiple lines and I'm not an expert, so I don't know why it's set up that way, but I just deleted all of the lines and put in a simgle entry, which gives a border that is slightly offset:

Using this code, the border should look like this, which is my default:

I've also attached my gui file, which should be stored under game/scripts within the CS folder.

So just finished the faithful jaye route and I gotta say I enjoyed it. Now one part that annoyed me is the fact dev added 2 sentences to make it seem it might be incest. Not really my thing so I have adjusted the two sentences to void that part completely.

If people want it because they aren't into that kink and found dev adding it to the game the most pointless info ever, then just replace the chapter8.rpy file with this one. It just changes two sentences and it's as small as one person saying Yes, I'm not stupid and another saying good. It's such small dialog when you play you won't even notice it, compared if you read the original words.

Before them you could at least kind of pretend the story was serious but once the protags have a cliche genius (you know she's smart cuz she doesn't use contractions!) and an actual sentient AI on their side it's obvious the story has completely left reality behind.

Your concern about a LI that is MC's step-sister (and maybe half-sister), whose main romance history and conflict with MC specifically related to them being siblings and dealing what that taboo, and who routinely call each other Bro and Sis is that there were some intentionally ambiguous lines that implied they might be incestuous? Yes because it's close but not, it's about being blood related. So many couples get together and their parents fall for each other and it's perfectly normal. There's a reason why governments ban one but not the other

Go tell steam exactly how this game plays out and see what happens. A lot of us isn't into that kink. If you fantasize about your real sibling like that then that's a you issue.

Oh, I'm not offended. Just amused that on a path that already leans heavily into the incest kink that two ambiguous lines that already let the reader interpret it as they prefer needed to be fully removed.
