I'm really happy that that we were able to confront Sonja about how much of a bitch she was in the previous episode. I still think that Sonya is annoying as all hell, but at least I'm no longer worried about having her forced on us in the future. I can't stand it when games offer you a ton of choice and then suddenly strip that away in order to stick you with someone you don't like. So it's nice to see that we are allowed to decide how our character feels about the other characters.
I am a bit confused as to why the two are still married though, especially now that Sonya has said that "I'd never try and make things uncomfortable with your girlfriend." I had previously assumed that she was wanting to weasel her way back into his life, so I was rather surprised that she seemed to now be supportive of him having a girlfriend while they are still married. So, uh... do they not have divorces in the future or something? What's the deal here?
Although, it's starting to look like we might not need a divorce after all, what with that rather ominous mention about how she wouldn't hold back if they found themselves competing for a contract, and then the episode ends with them competing for the contract (and her holding back). It could be that we're soon to become a widower.
Anyways, I enjoyed the update. Especially the multiple path approach to dealing with Chandra. As wonderful as the graphics are, it's the gameplay that I'm most impressed with. I love it when a game is designed to give the player as much control as reasonably possible. I'm liking Chandra more than before. She's still a distant third behind Ellen and Katie, but seeing her genuinely care about someone other than herself was huge, and the fact that she's willing to come clean and be honest when pressed was a big plus.
Ellen's still my favourite, and I do hope we get a chance to do something nice for her in the future. It's been a bit of a one-sided relationship so far, and it hasn't been in her favour. We cost her money by not taking the jobs she wants us to, we don't tell her about the not yet ex wife, and then we get her to agree to go to a fancy party (that doesn't want to go to) as a favour to us without telling her that the person she hates the most will be there. So, we're a real shithead for taking her for granted so far. I'd say that we need to be apologizing to Ellen way more than Sonya does. Then again, she did once threaten to kick us in the nuts if we said we were sorry, so, umm... maybe we just focus on getting Gloria back safe and sound. That would probably make Ellen happier than anything we could say.
