The work done on this game is just tremendous, if you compare it to most other games, it's a standard of quality.
I'm not saying it's perfect, but it's clearly of a high standard.
If you think this game deserves only 1 star, show me the games that you think deserve 5.

Sometimes I come across reviews in the threads I follow where people only focus on one thing they don’t like about a game and end up giving it a low score just for that. It’s pretty clear they haven’t even read the thread rules because they’re not being objective at all; they just want to vent their frustration. So, whenever I can, I report those comments to the moderators to get them removed. I write reviews myself and make an effort to stick to the rules. I know there are a lot of factors to consider when scoring a game—like graphics, animations, story, characters, music, and so on—so I try to be as fair as possible. But yeah, some people just don’t care…

I would not call it retarded, but there is some quality drop in the story in the last few chapters even. Besides still disapointed how Chandra was just used as bait but never got her own ending...

I agree, but I also felt that all of the endings were pretty pointless. They all boil down to an extra lewd scene and not much else. I also think the whole conclusion seemed rushed to me. It was like everything after the stairway was moving at light speed just to get the game done and over with. Maybe it's just me.

How stupid is it that the mc never even fights the red moon? That's a no brainer plot point. Basically this underdog with no hope of winning goes up against the red moon maybe to buy Gloria enough time or whatever. Like how he fought Henry in the beginning. It was badass that if it wasn't for Gloria, Henry would be a goner.

Honestly... I'd much rather play as Henry. Atleast he was a good character with real convictions and man goes out like a badass.

Whereas the mc is a milquetoast protagonist who is also badly written. If I wasn't playing as the mc I wouldn't give a fuck about his character. Philly majorly dropped the ball to the point where it felt like he didn't really care about the story after a certain point and it was just a means to put more sex scenes in.

That was one of my biggest issues with the ending. The big bad red moon that seemed like a worthy antagonist is swept aside by a quick chat and is just a "good guy" at heart. It makes all that build up pointless. I guess it doesn't matter that he brought on Henry's death, no reason at all to try and get some payback I guess.

He was from the beginning, the idea is that he was meryless to help his people with the corporation money. But when a story goes on for too long and it has to be wrapped quick the execution suffers. It happens with a lot of games and tv series.

I understand that. It still doesn't change the fact that Henry and Betty are dead as a direct result of his involvement. The stairway is also gone. Sure that could me considered suicide and collateral damages but still. He is never held accountable for any of it. I think it's just bad story telling or at the very least a huge unresolved plot hole. It felt like he was more worried about just being done and less about wrapping things up neatly. I enjoyed the game but the ending left a lot to be desired for me personally.

It's not just you. The game became worse in the latest chapters.
Probably the author became tired and burnt out. That happens and it happened in many games on this site that seemed promising at the start. I guess I can't say names but some quite big game about vampires got finished recently and the ending is disappointing, just like here.

Also don't forget about the backers on Patreon. These guys often don't want a good story. They just want more threesomes and foursomes. You have to deliver them what they want. And it's hard to make a good, clever story when the protagonist is banging everybody every five minutes.

Still COBD is one of the best games on this site. Just compare it to the others.
