I personally don't find Venus attractive - I mean I don't mind her proportions, but I don't like the shiny skin which appears sweaty / clammy / wet to me, and I don't find the face or hair attractive either. Plus she's a robot, which isn't my thing, either.
Is this female form an artifact of this game engine that's too hard to... edit? Or are these female forms really popular?

Female forms, figures, formats, I'm approaching it from a technical aspect because this may be a game engine design limitation that these game creators have to work with. I've read some smatterings here and there in this forum that custom edits of some of the females is hard work.

Hence the broad nature of my question. And this figure is not "extra-sensualized" it's comical, for my tastes. Also hence the broad nature of my question.
Like you said, it's not exclusive to Ren'Py and porn games. Many ( I would even say most ) Hentai and Doujinshi tend to portray exaggerated figures with oversized boobs and hips. Not my taste either but the trend clearly has a substantial amount of fans. As for Venus, that's the point of the character. She's meant to fulfill a fantasy in a comical tone.
You didn't ask a generalized question, you asked about Venus. As you've been told, Venus is purposely exaggerated to appeal to those who like lots of curves, nothing to do with technical issues. As evidenced by the other women in this game who are not Rubenesque.

It *can* be an assumption, and a false one. I've seen a lot of people complain about the comical forms, I haven't really seen anyone *ask* specifically for these comical fantasy figures. So I'm curious if this is just a trend build on an assumption, or not. I'm also curious as to what anyone would see in these hyper-curved forms, why they would prefer them or desire them.

Given the skill displayed by Philly I'd say it's fair to assume the way Venus looks is intentional. Maybe to have a slight dip into the uncanny valley since she's a (sex-)bot? But then there was that one back at the party which was a lot more inconspicuous in this regard. We'd need to hear it from the man himself what the intend behind the design is.
