VN Ren'Py Completed City of Broken Dreamers [v1.15.0 Ch. 15] [PhillyGames]

I switched computers since the last update so i replayed this game from the beginning. I have to say that this game is by far - i mean by far, far, far the best adult VN. The renders, the graphics and the overall atmosphere is simply in a league of its own. Also the way the story is branched is also genius work. There are no harshly different paths, but the way certain actions delicately influence the story and lead to different outcomes with the different ppl in the game is amazing. This is the game where you do replay the whole thing with a different choice in chapter 1 or 2 and you end up with a different situation in chapter 12. Also i like that the scenes are not only vanilla but you can indulge into a bit of rough stuff if you like to.

My recommendation, get a big pendrive an play your games from there. When you erase one keep the savegames folder. So you don't depend on your pc's user folder for the previous version saves.

I agree, my friend. I picked up an external Toshiba ssd with 1 TB of storage. I keep all of my AVN's and porn videos on it. Currently, I have around 300 GB of AVN games and stories stashed on it and another 200 GB of porn video. Eventually, I'll need to get one for each but I still have over 400 GB left at present. This ssd allows me to play my games as last saved on my laptop as well as my tower by just swapping the USB cable. The external ssd was right around $40 USD, just under $45 with tax and free shipping. This allows me to play City of Broken Dreamers and all my other favorites on any PC I have available.

I also have several usb thumb/pen drives as well. 256 GB size run about $15 USD, still under $20 with tax and free shipping.

I always explore all paths in Philly Games! Depraved Awakening is totally unlocked for all scenes and City of Broken Dreamers is fully unlocked through chapter 12.

my renpy folder is bit over 1.2 gigs and there are saves of games tested and sent to dev null and finished and permasaves to continue from ep/ch/whatever 1 to 2 etc.

My apologies, i wasn't clear The big pendrive is to have multile ren'py games 'installed' directly on it for an average of 3-4gb/game, unless you go for compressed versions.

Now, i usually have my Ren'Py games on a all purpose pendrive in my keyring, 64gb, half of which full of work stuff and a good chunk of the rest occupied by RPGs adventures i'm writing on the sparetime, since a volunteer as a master on recurring tabletop rpgs events in my regions. I still menage to have 5-6 Ren'Py games present in there at all time.

I also don't understand how anyone can't like a girl like her Victoria has everything what a man looks for in a woman she is smart tough sexy as hell and on top of that she has feelings.

People have different tastes. Victoria has nothing I look for in a woman (nor what MC looks for in my playthrough, though neither do any of the other girls... Katie comes closest but I can't get excited by her facial model). I'm not interested in finding out anything about her and I don't like the gratuitous nudity cutscenes of her we get because I have no desire to see her naked (or otherwise).

One thing caught me by surprise - as I've avoided almost all Victoria contact, I didn't get why MC suddenly decides that he has to go see Victoria because he's got a feeling she's on the side of the angels, somewhere in chapter 10 I guess?? What happened to bring him to that conclusion when it's been ages since he last had contact with her?

I've been putting games on external drives for some time now. I still have my first external drive... an ancient 100 GB Seagate Barracuda HDD. I call it "the Brick!" No kidding, that thing is twice the size and about three times the weight of my first Walkman cassette player! Hahaha I have at least one extra 123 GB usb pen drive, place for key ring on the end, retractable usb connector... (not the brick... that thing is a door stop! Hahaha Would cost more to ship than it's worth!) it's just laying around blank if you need it... 64 GB is awfully small these days. Any way, just send me a PM if that is beneficial to you, my friend. Why not some boobs! So, I did rework part of an earlier scene slightly, this is one of the new ones from that. Hope you enjoy
So, doing an early post today since I will be out most of the day today and I am not sure if I will be able to post when I normally do. Let's keep this quick.
Sitting just under 600 renders now, and I have to check the animation count but I believe 4 new ones are there bringing it to 37 animations.
Now to get ready to geek out with some Gloomhaven with friends. Yes, you can make fun of me for loving that game

It looks like Philly has completed approximately 80 static renders and 4 animations in the last two weeks, an average of 40 statics and 2 animations per week. Overall, he's currently averaging ~54 statics and 3.4 animations per week since Chapter 12 launched. Here are the charts:

If we assume Philly maintains a pace similar to his overall average going forward, it looks to me like we'd reach the 950 static render threshold of a typical update around the first week of 2023 (with a typical ~50 animations a couple weeks earlier). That would probably give us a release in mid-January, which seems like a reasonable estimate. Still, it's possible this chapter will be oversized (as we approach the finale) and the holiday season could easily derail us a week, so we could easily wind up waiting longer than that.

Nice pic of Gloria. It's not clear if the scene he reworked is from Chapter 13 or earlier in the game. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

No, the story will end after 2 books.

Book one is chapters 1-7 and is out on Steam as book one.
Book two is currently through chapter 12 and will likely go 2-3 more chapters or 2 chapters and an epilogue. We are nearing the end of City of Broken Dreamers yet still have time left to wait. Philly puts and enormous amount of work into his games and it is slow going at times. All of the characters and environments are custom renders. That takes time. I'm hoping to see the end by mid summer 2023 but I'm not holding my breath. A genius masterpiece of this caliber takes a ton of time and effort. So, hang in there. The end is in sight, just not right around the next corner. I've been following this title since chapter two or three and have loved it all the way. This is a rather special story. After book two is complete Philly will take a well deserved break and resume with his next title. It is not a sequel to CoBD but is in a similar sci fi environment.
