i was fiddling with what are the expected endings are so i played a pure victoria solo route and had her purposefully get killed by the red moon and somehow i still got the ending with victoria, no variations or anything at all... like wtf just happened?

I played a second playthrough just right now, didnt felt that different and while i played and at the end i recognized, it felt like Philly lost interest in the game and just wanted to find a way to finsih it somewhat so the dissapointment will not be that big.

Have to agree. That's the overall feeling I got too from playing it again. The game started almost perfectly having a shitload of potential for action, quality content and lots of top-notch fucking with those gorgeous women, but sadly for us, things cooled off along the way.

Not gonna deny there are quite a few good sex scenes and a lot of high-quality renders, but storywise, it could've been better, and all the subplots you and I mentioned there that are forgotten, up for closure in the next game, or simply dropped for 'reasons' only prove that either Philly got burned out, suffered from writer's block, or got bored of the game and just wanted to move on. Sincerely hope it's not the last option, cuz it wouldn't make sense, considering how passionate he always seemed about his work and doing COBD-related stuff, it'd also mean the next game won't be a saving grace for him.

Seeing how the story 'ended', there's enough hints dropped about a sequel, where the fuckers at Vostok become Baynard 2.0, supposedly bigger, badder and uglier than them, thanks to that idiotic cunt, Shanlon, selling them important secrets for money and some futuristic male sexbot army to tear her asshole apart or something batshit crazy like that.

A prequel about the Augment program, Henry and his companions' 'heroic' deeds, MC's army and mercenary days, the Caracas incident that affected him, Sonya and Gloria so much, Victoria's upbringing, Meredith's fall into narcissism and darkness and more information about Baynard, some stuff that Philly should've gone into detail about in the current story, would make for a good prequel, there's a shitload of canonical material to work with, but I don't know, bois. Was left terribly disappointed by how things unfolded in the second book of COBD and how the story ended leaving most of us disappointed and having a big WTF moment at how Philly basically pulled the plug on the game.

Neither Chandra nor Abby (or both as one) had an ending.

The only consolation is that you can watch the final sex scene with the two several times as you go through the main LIs endings.

Yeah that was how I got it, went to the messages the author did and got the updated PDF WT (Even though it has a slight error on the conditions for the No LI "Victoria+Gloria" ending, btw same error is on the multi mod lol no idea if the code was confusing for both of them set it wrong, it was another player that pointed out the error some pages back in this thread). But the author of the PDF WT should have edited the post that is linked in the OP like most modders and WT writers usually do

I agree with you. If Philly is even considerating to write a sequel for City of Broken Dreamers, he need to pick which ending is the canon one. However, just like any RPG game, I think the canon ending for COBD is the one where you defeat Baynard and Gloria is free.

But, like a certain mission on The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt says: "When something ends, something begins." So, with Baynard weak, now Vostok will be the villains for the Philly's next game.

Honestly, I'm still unclear about the actual setting of Philly's next game. I've read some vague statements that he supposedly made some time ago, but everything seems to be a bit fuzzy to be honest. And I don't think it would be a good idea to follow COBD's story either, neither with new characters nor with some we already know.

Anyway, there is some very important advice I'd like to give in case Philly should read me: I believe he should stick to shorter games like DA. He should plan and write the story 100% before starting any further development, and then complete it in 2.5 or 3 years TOPS.
This is just a humble opinion from someone who's been enjoying his work for 6 years now.
