Claire's Quest version 0.17 (Rathpike Returns!) / Patron Release

Hello patrons!

I am proud to present to you the 0.17 "Rathpike Returns!" version series of Claire's Quest! This version completes the long-running overhaul of the entire game by returning Rathpike to the fold! Download link below:

With 0.17.1, we have re-introduced the city of Rathpike! Subsequent updates will patch out bugs from the newly-overhauled areas, and in the process we'll also re-introduce the outer areas of the island with subsequent updates!

We have encountered some difficulty in this version due to the large amount of new plugins and scripts introduced, which are not auto-packaged as part of the game itself, so it took awhile to stop the packaged game crashing. That being said, it should be largely stable now. With 0.17.1, the main priority is to see if Rathpike is playable.

0.17.2 will come in fairly fast once Rathpike is confirmed playable, and will add in the bullpen and advance the Thieves to the Seaside Cottage.

As usual, a full changelog can be found below!

Please report any bugs you find in the Discord channel, so we can compile every report in one place!

---

CHANGELOG (0.17.1)

* The city of Rathpike has been fully overhauled, and is now in-game. This includes portraits, maps, sprites, and much, much more kudos to Ars. Most areas, old scenes, and quests are present. Old scenes that are now back and accessible include the two brothel scenes, the anal scene in the inn, the three Meat Pit scenes, and the stalker attack on a drunken Claire leaving the pub.

* New scene added to the warehouse (part of Thieves questline) - handjob can be given to the foreman.

* New scene and mini-faction added to the Undercity, the Urchins who can be encountered in Undercity West.

* New pissplay scene in the pub basement (Rusty Shield).

* Anal scene from the inn made easier to unlock; now only continued temptation (x3 times during the cleaning job) is required to trigger.

* Quest indicator system experimentally added to the Prologue area for player testing. They simply denote where quests are with a floating exclamation marker, and disappear as soon as player activates the quest.

* UI has been integrated with outfits; the UI portrait now changes depending on if Claire is wearing a specific outfit.

* Interactive map added to the world travel system. Travel between Valos and Rathpike now possible.

* Prologue routes have been changed, quite extensively; Grey can now drop you at either Rathpike or Valos as a free woman; Shady Sailor's actions now send you to the Meat Pit or lead you to Rathpike as a free woman.

* Item iconset has been changed extensively, featuring a new high-quality set, with many custom ones done just for Claire's Quest by Nikki. Many redundant items (ie. Lingerie, which only appears once and never gets used again) also removed, replaced with new items.

* Meat Pit encounter can now occur in the Undercity (East), provided this route is not activated via Shady Sailor. This is linked to a new "debt" questline in Rathpike can occur, barring Claire from travel out of the city until repaid; this debt can be defiantly rejected, which results in Claire being sent to the Meat Pit instead.

* Restaurant in Valos sells a full hunger restore meal on the spot rather than selling an item dish.

* Costume room added to the Gallery; the costumes are cosmetic only, for players who requested being able to change their outfits on whim. They do not affect gameplay directly.

* Patreon link added to title screen.

* Temporary Tigerlily in the Wash area, to be removed after Badlands returns.

* Increased speed when in Gallery so it's easier to run to scenes you want to see. Speed decreases back to normal upon leaving Gallery.

* After Meat Pit ends, it no longer leads to a potential questline in Sorraine.

* "Life Is A Cabaret" questline fixed up, should no longer block progression and complete as intended.

* New BGM tracks added, but not widely propagated yet; one in Brabannois Club, one in the Casino.

* Fixed erroneous description for Dog Walker quest.

Maybe you're right, then they should explain why delay immediately.
If you go on their Patreon page they give weekly blog updates. click on the 'Posts' tab. The game has a bunch of custom assets, sprites, ect. Things keep getting delayed since most of those aren't getting finished on time, and since this game has gotten a revamp bugs are a huge problem, the team tries to fix as many as they can but you can't get everyone so they rely on players to report bugs.

017, the return of Rathpike is out but its for patron members it usually takes about a week-ten days before the public get to try it out.

Introducing... Claire's Ranch! (Special Blog)

Hello and welcome to a special, patron-only blog post!

Sadly this can't be public as we're discussing some rather lewd things.

Anyway, moving on! With the patron-only version of Claire's Quest (0.17) now out and going through beta testing, I thought this would be a nice time to have an extended discussion on the next couple of things coming for Claire's Quest!
For starters, Rathpike is currently out (city-only) and we've caught a few bugs thanks to players already. After the area is confirmed stable, we'll move onto expanding to the outer areas, which expand the Thieves and Mercenaries questlines, as well as bring in the Shieldmaiden/Viking questline.

You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
This is still a work-in-progress, of course, but I hope this gets you guys excited for the future content planned for Chemont!

But, with all the focus on Rathpike recently, I thought I'd bring up some content coming for Valos for a bit!
A new area has been added to the ranching town of Chemont Town, the Bullpen, which is part of a cattle farm there. This is being added in 0.17.2, with two complete breeding scenes!

This new area is totally inaccessible to Claire, however, unless she gets Breeding Papers II by completing earlier breeding work from the stables, which is a hard requirement for the Bullpen staff to even consider Claire. This is a new item added to the stable questline, but don't worry, if you didn't get it the first time, just work in the stables again and it will detect you don't have the item and reward it to you.

After getting Breeding Papers II, Claire becomes eligible to work in the Bullpen, and upon completion of all Bullpen scenes, will receive Breeding Papers III!
Breeding Papers III is part of a Storyteller questline - which is a questline that has been requested by a patron at the highest pledge, and approved by us as being suitable for the game! We've been working on this for some time, and now it's in a complete enough state for us to tell you more!
This isn't the first instance of a Storyteller questline, by the way, as the Sisters and the Rangers are both also Storyteller questlines!

So, moving on, after getting Breeding Papers III, Claire becomes eligible to BUY a ranch of her own in Chemont, having proven her skill at the craft.
This ranch, however, is empty when Claire first acquires it. And she can't possibly do all the work herself. No, she'll need live-in help, and she'll need to acquire some livestock...

The first of these potential workers is Isobelle, a well-born young lady who escaped from the aristocratic clutches of her family after realizing they intended to send her off to a loveless marriage - and worse, pay for her dowry by selling her beloved pet horse!
Grabbing the reins of her trusty steed, Thunder, Isobelle gallops off into freedom - but finds herself stuck in Chemont, with no wage-earning ability, and a rather large, expensive stallion to feed and house.
In the midst of her dilemma, in comes Claire, who can offer Isobelle - and Thunder - a place at her newly-acquired ranch!

The second girl Claire can hire is Evie, a tough farmgirl, and an experienced hand at breeding, who works at the Bullpen when Claire first meets her. Evie has a soft spot in her heart for a gentle giant, a great bull named Brutus, that is neglected in the Bullpen for fear of his immense stature.
Evie will agree to join Claire if she will give Brutus a place in her heart - and her ranch.

Recruiting a girl, provided Claire has enough money to pay to room them, sends them permanently to Claire's Ranch, starting a kind of minigame within Claire's Quest revolving around trainer and sim management-type gameplay.
The different girls that Claire can recruit all have different personalities, backstories, and of course - attitudes towards the whole breeding thing Claire seems to be so fond of :p
Evie, for instance, having actually worked in the Bullpen, is rather comfortable with it, while Isobelle is initially very nervous and uncertain. It is up to Claire, as mistress of the ranch, to accommodate the girls under her, and unleash their full potential.

For those who don't fancy trainer gameplay, are too impatient, or just downright have too much money to spend - good news! There are always items that can greatly accelerate the process of training a top breeder. :p

Of course, Claire isn't doing all this out of the goodness of her depraved, depraved heart. Buying and running a ranch is an expensive thing ... fortunately, Claire can be well-rewarded for her efforts (and those of the breeders working for her!)
And yes, you read the bottom line of that item description correctly.

I wonder what indeed, Claire?
Anyway, as girls get trained, they become more and more comfortable with increasing levels of depravity, unlocking new scenes, new dialogue, and developments. And then finally...

... Claire will have the perfect breeder(s).

This is still a work-in-progress, of course, but I hope this gets you guys excited for the future content planned for Chemont!

Claire's Quest is just getting better and better. To think that this new Breeder questline was actually requested by a patron along with the Sisters and Rangers, it's great to see that they're implementing ideas from their patrons although they are the highest pledges.

I wonder if a ranch for domesticating and breeding monsters in Rathpike would fit into the game. Since she's already breeding farm animals, wouldn't the next logical step be monsters? They did say in a last post that you could befriend them in the wild.
