Gave this new version a go. I do applaud the dev for dealing with trans issues. I have multiple trans people in my life, including famiy members. But...it's too much for me. I feel like the drama, and violence, and harassment is too often and too much of the game. Really? the bully's dad had to be a major person of authority? It feels piled on. I hope there is a pay off there where they are held accountable but I'm doubting it based on how the game is trending - it feels like the story is just one dumping on after another. It's exhausting. As much as I'm interested in the story, the heavy parts are too much and too often for me. But that is 100% on me - when I play porn games, I 'm not looking for social commentary, it's 100% escapism for me. When I want to broaden my awareness, I have Youtubers, tv, movies, books and other places I go to for that. Best of luck though. Keep it going.

Speaking for myself here, the dumping on is the author way to make us feel things. Yes, it may be uncomfortable. From what I understood of what the Dev said here, this is about to change has Alex is starting to take control of her life. The fact that it isn't sudden is also a writing tool. Also, some of the choices that we make help our version of Alex to be stronger and more decisive.

Other than the flash back scenes, through these initial four chapters we are only dealing with a relatively short amount of time from the start through the current release, just a few short months at most. If Alex' world became instantly brighter without showing all the shit in which she is currently mired there would be no drama and no trauma, only, "Oh, isn't life such a wonderful thing, let's all fuck!" This is NOT that kind of a story. Currently, we have seen only four chapters of what will be ten total. Personally, I am in this for the entire ride and want to see everything so that the joy of the end will be all the more fulfilling. I'm fairly certain that is the the intent of the dev, AVNSnax, to deliver something much more than a porn novel/game/AVN thing. This story needs to be told IMHO. Confusion is a one of a kind story, a first for this digital media art form and I am glad of that. Ready for more when it is ready to be seen.

I get where both of you are coming from. But it does feel piled on and a lot to digest at once. I'm not saying don't have them, it's just feels forced. Like it's dialed to 11 just to make a point. And that feels bad, for me. All of the scenes could stay and if there was a little more focus on some of the good things that happened inbetween, then the pacing would feel better. Reminds me of a multi-part porn series (5 parter I think) that had a long story and there was a trans charater who faced some harsh stuff, but it was well paced. I guess the pacing it what bothers me. Like I get we want to see a character arc, but it's not done in a way that I would prefer it. Again, it's on me. If I was writing this, I'd have backed it off just a pinch, maybe find a way to have some happier moments inbetween of progress made on getting comfortable with herself (there's a bit of this, but it fails to properly balance out the bad emotional for me the reader). Sexy or not. Maybe she takes a weekend trip to visit a cousin who is now trans, and they kiss or something, and she grows from finding acceptance with another person.
I have no problem with dialing it to 11 for a single incident either. That whole thing with the kid and his dad (being vague to prevent spoilers) could totally be dialed up a bit more, and used later in the game when the reader feels things are "safe". A curveball. I'm sure there will be some of those, but this is my exmaple.
Think of it as earthquakes. Right now it feels like one 6 or 7 after another. If multiple people from multiple angles are going to come at her mostly at once (that how it feels from a story telling perspective for me) then I'd rather them be 4 or 5s. Then major progress, then throw an 8, or 9 out there! hahahah, later out of the blue.
Of course, I could just be accustomed to how my ex-wife writes (professional writer of 20+ years). That was her approach and it worked really well for me.

This has to be one of my favorite adult games that I've played. I was getting seriously pissed at the characters who were abusive towards Alex so you've got me attached to the characters and I'm looking forward to how the story unfolds.

You're not alone. A number of people have voiced objections to the pace and tone of the story. Your earthquake analogy is apt. But I feel like the issues that Alex has faced so far are more of the 3 to 4 variety. "Sticks and Stones" and all that. A Category 4 earthquake sounds terrifying if you've never endured one and you have no context. Aside from mean comments she's endured, the worst thing that's really happened to her has been a black eye, and only if you played it that way. Most of her family supports her, even if some have a hard time showing it sometimes. Most of the struggle has been in her own mind. When the 8 comes, and it will, it will feel like it.
As usual, I have to inject my usual disclaimer about knowing how the story will end so I can't really defend much of what's happening without major spoilers. There are 6 chapters to go. Chapter 5 kinda ends with a bang.

It is quite common for us to talk about stuff like that in public.
It might not be a common thing in countries where women are more subdued but Europe, UK etc.. we are quite open about sex.

Decided to take a chance on this game. Well thought out and written so far, which I do like. Certainly has potential to be a solid game, not really a gem but a solid recommendation. Do like the slow build up to things, as the long game will be worth it all, and probably some child support payments for our girl Alex in the near future (hopefully). That said, I do hope that Brad is given an actual chance and is an actual option for Alex to maybe discover herself on that end of a relationship possibly.

Hoping there is forgiveness to be found for Zoey, that Alex comes to realize that while she did get carried away and go a bit far Zoey was supportive and accepting of her as is and a big help in getting Alex started in the gym.
