I definitely understand that concept, I guess I just don't like the idea that she feels that the MC is an optional part of her life. She can cut contact with him completely for months, upon the request of some new guy, and then walk back into his life without any repercussions; they don't have a conversation about what aspect of their life will resume, or about earning back trust (at least from a player's perspective). Obviously we've not seen or heard much about the MC's past relationships so we don't know how he handles their arrangement but it really does feel like he is on her hook and not vice versa.Well, I was referring to later on. Right now the player doesn't have much agency in where the story goes or what the MC does and that's by design because I don't want any character to be skipped.
Also because I really don't like it when a game presents to you 2 choices that boil down to "sex scene or reject sex scene". Basically have sex here or have a small, no-content update. I hate that because to me it kinda wastes the player's time. Ayana is the only person the MC is fucking right now, so I didn't really see the point in making her skippable if the player doesn't have another sex option available to them at the moment, especially when the update is small.
Would you consider, once the game is finished, going back and tweaking decisions and options or when you are done with a story would you leave it as written? More of a broader question than just about this one instance. I am curious if, once all of the content is added into the game, you'd change something for narrative purposes.
Oh and personally I don't need a sex scene in an update if, instead, I get a well developed story and deeper character development. I am sure I am alone in that but I felt like it needed to be said. I've played much longer games that are sparse on porn but strong on writing.
