I could not seem to find any button to change the language from Russian to English, so instead I had to go to the console and enter
renpy.change_language("english", True)

There is a known bug in the minigame, if the cursor freezes, restart the minigame and wait a bit for the cursor to make a few jolts

i just scrolled 1-2 times back to restart the minigame and eventually it works.
