Spoken like someone who has no clue on both "the artistic vision when creating a game" and "the business of creating a game", but instead as someone that's "me me me I want this so it makes no sense not to continue".
All about ego then? Everybody wanna have their exclusive shit till the end of their world?
Your logic: business....If u planning to abandon game, u planning to abandon business related to it and that's good (wtf). That's good? U invested in shit and then....not wanting to pull max out of it. This ain't sony subscription that u gonna get money till the end of the world or end of sony. Competition here is rather strong, so ur shit gonna die quickly if not updated.
The artistic vision when creating a game... artist created game and then decides to bury it. Ofc he has all rights to do so, but why?
If u planning to kill it (whatever sad reason behind it), sell assets and script, call it v2 and let anyone else continue. Artist get final decent money (or proper deal) and game gets a fair shot to be continued. What's the other option? Nothing? Bit depressing....
Isn't it rather arogant to consider there is an artist of the game and there the story ends cuz no-one can pull it further.
Star Wars had 7 directors. Only first one was amazing cuz of the artist right? Few might believe that rest kept lore alive and thats the point of business if u really want to run it.
I really struggle to see any positives in such a choice especially for such a good game, therefore I wrote what I wrote...why kill it? Where is logic to it from any point of view apart of ego?
