I'd actually like to understand why people like Berwyn so much. Never really much cared for him, and he sorely lacked in companion interactions, and from what I've read before, his only saving grace was the art done for him. I do think people dying on the Berwyn hill is a bit much, but I'd like to understand the reasons outside of him being a femboy/one of the few male companions.
I don't even care who likes the character or not I just don't understand why a character that people like got taken out of potential companions when all they had to do was finish his content with this latest patch.
There's nothing wrong with companions story ending before the main story.
And if someone didn't Ike the character it's whatever because they don't even have to interact with him.

If anyone here writes for work, I would like some input: what are common exchange rates for writing as around 1000 words?
Common exchange rate for writing is usually $.01 or $.02 per word, depends on how much you value your time/creativity/confidence in your work. I just recently took my first commission to write 1.5k words for $20. Absolute worst case is you can oversell yourself and then try and find a middle ground.

Also remember to NEVER send the full work unless you get your money first. Had a friend get scammed out of a fuckton of money like that.

This is literally just the first result of a Google search, but says the following:
  • Entry Level — $.03 to $.06 per word
  • Intermediate — $.07 to $.12 per word
  • Experienced — $.13 to $.20 per word
  • Expert Level — $.21 to $.30 per word
(I’m guessing USD.)

This is assuming you present yourself as a career writer, and not just a hobbyist, however.

It’s true that, in reality, you can charge what rate soever you think is fair for your work.

Nah I don't hate him, I hate some of the shit he writes along with his pretentiousness. But I don't hate him to wish him bad fortune.

To be honest from what it looks like, the reason you're not upset is because you don't have a personal attachment to the IP.
What value does the IP have other than nostalgia? I have fond memories of CoC1 too but I've accepted that CoC2 is nothing but an oc donut steel dumping ground for Savin and his friends. They never had any desire to make a CoC1 successor, and even the idea of a CoC1 successor is nebulous because everyone seems to have a completely different idea of what CoC1 was these days.

Thank fucking god they changed it though.
I can't say I have much attachment since I don't play it. But I was also tempered in my teenage years by the flames of

Which uh

(based on a true story indeed) Toriyama definitely knocked it out of the park, haha. Anything less bounces off of me (but I'll still give it a bit of shit if it's poorly written)

Those madmen at Square shipped this bomb out into the wild for children all across Japan (and everywhere else if you played it's fantranslation a handful of years later)

They absolutely rushed to get that down as well. And supposedly (if his words are to be trusted anyways) hugs had already had the ending he had planned. So it's not like they were lacking for direction. While I'm less than enthused to dig up old wounds, for the sake of citing my sources:

It's probably just got everything to do with it being hugs characters. Quint, Atugia, and (while not technically, I'm still including her) Agni are all questless companions and all of them together have less speaking lines in quests in the entirety of the game than a single Arona.
So it couldn't possibly be because they didn't want to do more work. Because they're not doing the work to start with. It's probably because of some meta drama unrelated to practicality and more to do with emotion of the fallout. Which alright that's fair. For them.

I mean yeah we're getting commissioned for porn and we're definitely not professionals at it, so we're not gonna get paid career rates. Heavily doubt anybody's gonna commission us $60 for a measly 1k word smut. Should've clarified that the exchange rate was mostly just anecdotal evidence from a while ago, too.

But yeah, it mostly depends on how much you value your work. I wouldn't think super hard about first commission price if it's only 1k words, that's only like 2 hours of work or 3 if you get a bit stumped(at least for me).

Huh, talk about creative.

Not sure I would want her after. Even the one in Monte Cristo left her husband when she found out what he did.
I mean, I'd be disappointed 'cause she got gaslit easily.
But if she's that stupid then it'll be easy to get her back while finding another.
Two in one~~~

PLOT REASONS~~~
That type of a shitty character also kills mine even though I am dickless. :KEK:

I mean, it's even dumber that the MC still listens to her.
But then again, only writers that stupid can think storylines like that are good 'cause moral dilemma = deep.

If I want characters that are intentionally written bad in a good way, I'd rather play and rewatch School Days.
That shit still kills me inside.

If getting her back requires raising her bastard, then no thanks. She can be a lonely widow for all I care.
