Don't worry it's the bethesda way to interact with their players.
They give us the sandb-, I mean litterbox and we use the toys to remove the shit or fix the broken shit in the game. :KEK:

Oh man, I was going to point out that those games were developed by id software and only published by bethesda, but then I googled it to make sure and realized that they're all subsidiaries of zenimax anyway.

i believe B put a lot of work on this npc but i cant help but notice that once more we got 3 bullet points disguising the fact only a single npc got added, but hey its a public patch so most people wont notice
yeah, as soon as I saw they're all for the same thing I knew this was an empty patch

0.6.32 Patch Notes:

  • There’s a hefty new NPC in the Windy Peaks, Kailani, written by B! You’ll need to bump into her in a certain tile, then talk to her in the Vulperine Village on the peaks in order to start progressing your relationship with this foxy huntress!
  • Kailani has a personal quest, which involves proving your worth by fighting some of her fellow vulperine hunters, and then progressing to a much more dangerous prey!
  • Once you’ve handled her quest, you can make the huntress your mate. She has scenes for both tender and vigorous fucking, and a pair of new oral scenes too. She’s got a set of doggystyle scenes that’ll be in for next patch, too!

>Could've just made Cait save her actual virginity and let strangers only fuck her ass
Why does Savin think saving your shithole virginity is some romantic concept?
I didn't expect Cait to come out as a born-again virgin. Will we able to deflower her hands? Nah that'd be too much of a reference to a better H-game.

You have to understand.
He learned biology backwards when he was a child.
He thinks children comes out of our asses.
And everyone knows he's into asses so I guess that's a huge part too. :KEK:

Do you guys know how hard I'm laughing right now?
In the last WoW RP session my ingame brother laughed for at least 5 minutes straight while lying on the floor because my character is too dense. This hard?

Na too much corruption hentais. Somehow there it is okay when everyone fucks the pussy but the ass should be left for someone special.

Okay, I am going to be a bit of a devil's advocate here, but I think nowadays the phrase "Sunk Cost Fallacy" is being thrown waaaay to much as an excuse as to why X or Y has fans or enjoyers. It's REALLY easy to dismiss people who claim to like something you don't as "they invested too much time/money to admit the flaws in X". Weirdly enough, I feel tempted to return to Bethesda games, even thought we stopped talking about them a few pages ago. Mostly because I've seen streamers who shut down any person defending Starfield as "you just spend 60$ and are trying to justify it" and, while maybe it's true sometimes - it denies any actual discussion on the matter.
I agree with this, in the case that the person being hit with "you just got sunk cost fallacy bro" is actually trying to articulate a proper reason as to why the thing they're defending isn't mediocre garbage. Sadly, most of the time it's just a "nah you're wrong and just buttmad, it's good" vs "nah it sucks and you're just coping" type of back and forth. I'd even go as far as to say that instead of people arguing out of sunk cost fallacy, they're arguing more from the standpoint of feeling threatened by people trashing on the thing they like, because they don't like the idea that something they like could ever really be that bad.
As much as it's difficult to admit it - on the surface, CoC2 is a perfectly serviceable Text-Based Smut RPG. Story and Narrative seems pretty interesting at first, it presents enough mechanics to make you feel like there is depth to them and game's systems and overall - it seems like a decent package.
See, I don't like this argument. It's obviously not a complete dumpsterfire. If it was, it would've been dead on arrival. Though even then I could see it lasting on life support for at least a year because, let's face it, the core demographic they're appealing to knows just how niche of an interest they represent so they'd latch onto anything that directly tries to appeal to them, in the vain hope that it might just get better. You could also go the other direction with the serviceable argument. It's just serviceable, which makes it bad. You know what else is serviceable? Family guy and plenty of other shows on television that are in an okay enough state to be broadcast, but that doesn't really shield them from scathing criticism, does it? It just means that they're good enough to be profitable, same case as here one might argue.

This coming from the people that think getting slightly more preferential treatment from someone makes them your SO while they also happily get spitroasted by strangers wherever they go, is it really a surprise?

Just to make sure, I never said that this shields CoC2 from critique. It's as you said - niche interest causes people to latch despite the quality. There are mediocre games, anime or other media I like that aren't amazing, but they are done in a specific niche that I really much enjoy. Or they just have elements I find amazing but everything else is of little interest to me.

Nowadays, internet exists in bubbles a lot of the time. I remember seeing some dumb streamer who only plays CoD and cannot handle peak videogames that aren't CoD. Or people who only play FIFA and enjoy it. Or those who think Family Guy is the peak of comedy. I am sure CoC2 has a few fans like this.

This is pure spitballing here, but if I had to divide audience of CoC2, I'd argue we would have the following groups
1) Tourists - mostly Steam users, who bought the game, played it for some time to jerk off long enough before being bored and probably left a positive review. They haven't really engaged with a game on a deeper level and just assumed that the writing the game throws at you is good and solid, especially because it does "look" as if it's above other porn games. I also read the negative reviews to see if it's similar to what we have here - it's not. It's mostly complains about lack of gay and straight female content and the removal of Berwyn and it's writer, probably left by patrons who bough the game on Steam to support them and felt upset over this decision.
2) Fans - people who continually play and maybe even support the game. Just like Steam users, they don't engage it on a very deep level and will mostly likely be only upset by the quantity of content, not it's quality. I mean, CoC2 still provides them with text-based smut RPG they wanted, it's just that their bar for quality isn't very high.
3) Pretentious fans - Same as above, but the main difference is that they feel like they are engaging with the narrative and the world on the deeper level and think it's deep, well-written and great to read despite it having many faults they don't really notice. Think of them like TLOU2 fans who believe it's the greatest story on Earth because their standards are weird and they have specific quirks that made them really like something actually mid or just outright bad. Naturally, they aren't self-aware.
4) Self-Aware players - Those who play CoC2 for scraps of occasionally good/niche content they like, but otherwise don't really engage with the game. They don't hate the game, they just don't care about it. Indifferent unless it's something made for them.
5) This Forum - I don't think I need to describe it.
6) Ghosts - People who pay for 15 different subscriptions for things they don't use because they forget to cancel them.

The reason for this long af dumb classification is mostly to illustrate that there are many players for whom the major faults of CoC2 don't matter - either they don't care, don't notice, CAN'T notice or think it's okay. Most games have this and CoC2 is, as you said, good enough where it can get this divisive audience that will have a hard time communicating with each-other, because they believe their viewpoint is the only objective and fair one.

This, this is the reason why I love shitting on the reviews in this site.
Like wtf is this.

"Many well-written, many choics that actually affect outcomes and scenes and characters that are epic sexual style."

This is like saying Sarah Morgan is the best waifu you can ever meet in a game.
