And yet the reviews for this thread give the game 4.5/5 Stars. The discontent between the extreme negativity inside the thread and the praise in the reviews is not the only thing I find hilarious about this place.
And here you can't be vocal about praising this game or its writers without having abuse hurled at and getting multiple insanely angry people to jump down your throat. And no, the amount of misinformation that is filling this place is not something that can be just handwaved. It goes to the core of the issues this thread has, and why the folks over at Fenoxo correctly view it as a joke. So far I've seen multiple page ragefests over Savin hating preggo content [FALSE], Kiyoko NTR [FALSE] and now poor grieving Garth not being told the truth about his wife still being alive [FALSE]. I'm sure I could find even more if I'd read this thread from the start to the finish.
I've never gotten the feeling that the Fenoxo forums are a "cult" or a "cirklejerk", from the time I spent over there. Quite the opposite, there's plenty of people there voicing criticism about things they don't like about the game, and there are even stickied threads where people are encouraged to criticize the game. These threads are among some of the most active ones too. Now, of course, if someone starts spreading misinformation and outright lies about the content in the game, or hurls insults at the devs, he'll naturally get kicked out. It absolutely wouldn't surprise me if the majority of people in here complaining about oppressive mods were themselves at fault for being banned due to their inability to discuss the game in a polite and civilized manner.
The devs deserve praise when good content is added, and criticism when they fuck up. So far I've seen the Fenoxo forums to be less of a "cirklejerk" as opposed to the "hatejerk" at F95zone. Destroyerofassholes, I really hope you'd give the place a chance and post your view on the game in there. If you get banned for it, I'll admit I was wrong and you were correct in your assesment of that place. In the case you were already banned there previously, I would like to see the entire conversation that lead to it, so that I can make my own opinion on wheter it was warranted or not..

I've only ever lurked (and never posted on) Fenoxo's forums simply because I felt the forum culture to be oppressive. What you found a place for healthy discussion I felt was a toxic chamber. I'll admit I haven't been there for a year or so but there's still screenshots of oddball retorts from
authors of all people here. That should never happen, period. I've always had the feeling that people just can't actually say what they want to say because there's a limit to what can be vocalized in the Fen forums, always walking on eggshells. At the very least, I had that feeling. I can't say for other Fen posters.

By the same token, to you this place seems like absolute ass and I can get that, especially since you got at least 1 not-so-very-nice message in the last page. But at the same time I don't think it's as bad as you make it out to be, I must agree with the other comment that you're not being completely honest. It is true that misinformation is rife within this thread, but people generally tend to step in when it's being propagated. Like with the "kiyoko ntr" stuff. Some people just didn't read what was being argued and just started writing random stuff. I've seen it many times where people confuse a writer and be corrected.
And I just plain don't think people get outright chased out for liking something here. At the very least I haven't felt any sort of pressure for "should I post?" here unlike what I felt with Fen's forums. Most people are pretty vocal here about their praise of Kas and Brint/enne and stuff. CoC 2 does a lot of things wrong but if it were unplayable crap, nobody would remain here for years playing and talking about this game. People are most certainly not as vocal about the good content than they are with the "bad" content(especially in a content drought like this), but then again people (and I) seem to find it funnier to shit on the bad then praise the good. In a situation where there's nothing new to talk about, people go back to past content to talk, and it tends to default to the most polarizing topics. I can see why that would make this place look like it's constant bickering. It's also why the game has such high ratings on this thread despite the mood.
At the end of the day, you do you my dude. I don't think we can change each other's opinions about either of these places and that's a'ight.
