Yet Savin and his team can't even have regular weekly updates or any sort of proper schedule and just do whatever they feel like each month.

CoC 2 is not a bad game its a dissappointing one and that is worse as people would just write off a bad game and move on. Some who have gripes who write here are a mixture of people that once supported the game or were booted off the forums for valid criticism. I know that art isn't cheap and I think Moira earns her money as its one of the reasons I stick around but it does make you wonder what is Savin actually doing with the huge amount of money he makes every month. As a team not individuals they are disorganised, unprofessional, rude and outright arrogant and if they handled this with care and regular updates I reckon they could have had easily 50k a month by now and no one would complain they make that much.

Starting to think they should swap some of the CoC 2 writers for coders instead as they have the money to do so. Less than 1 update a week is pathetic with their budget.

I believe their standing excuse for the lackluster updates recently is that TiTS had to borrow most of their coders to help with the Java port. Which, yeah sure, is a decent enough excuse, but doesn't at all explain why they haven't hired more with the massive amount of income they bring in each month. Or why they only release a single update a week.

I agree with you that CoC II isn't a bad game, it just disappoints often. And it's frustrating, to actually enjoy the game just to be let down every week.

Late reply, but this point isn't a good one. You can willingly play as a monogamous (my main save), or even celibate character, and still get exposed to things like the Ryn heir, Brint manwhoring, and Azzy/Liaden. The game is also designed so that the player has to sleep around to see the content, so effectively punishing them for it is nasty. NPCs also aren't real people whereas the player is.

You can argue they shouldn't account for monogamous PCs because they're niche, but that just amounts to hilarious laziness. To account for it you just need to parse for player partners above 1, 0 if celibate. I don't care about a "years later nebulous pay-off" much, but it's still stupid to write content that clearly goes against what the audience for that character wants. Fixing the heir drama for male PCs in a decent way would obviously take some work, but when it comes down to it, not bothering with an agreeable solution again amounts to unwarranted laziness.

Frankly couldn't care less about who does or does not have the babies, the world is inherently polyamorous because to be otherwise would be a nightmare for user experience with this many characters (or just end up with a weird senario where lots of characters who desire monogamy are fine with you banging everything under the sun). It's making a mountain out of a molehill especially for content that has yet to be implemented.

Does the game even keep track of unique partners? If they started the game with that in mind then sure it's not much effort, this far down the line that's a lot of NPC's and loss scenes to tag for a small audience.

The game does track every sexual interaction you can have with each NPC. You can see all the flags in the save editor.

Even in story mode you can't solo.
That's the worst part about this piece of shit game.

You can if you pimp your save a bit. Bonus points to changing the stats of an item in the games resource folder and it won't register as cheating in the game. The only problem is that other characters can also get most items unless you want to pimp out a unique weapon you like. I've been riding solo on hardcore dark difficulty not problems so far.

The downside is that if you mess with saves too much they might become corrupt and not work anymore which happened to me with update 4.36. Still works fine with 4.35 but not newer and I'm not enough of a coder to find where the problem is and fix it so I had to restart. Fair warning to you there, but it does make the game a whole lot easier if you just want to experience the story and maybe feel a little bit like a badass.

If the previous threesomes are any indication of what to expect, it's mostly the other two NPCs getting an excruciatingly detailed horizontal dance while the MC just stands there with his dick flapping in the wind, with the occasional choice that gets him/her a brief mention in the scene at most.

I agree with you that CoC II isn't a bad game, it just disappoints often. And it's frustrating, to actually enjoy the game just to be let down every week.

It is so true as well. We have seen CoC at its best with positive community interactions which have in turn benefitted the game. Fenoxo even got a lot of free excellent writing just from people who loved his work and the concepts behind it. Clearly time has turned Fenoxo into a bitter, frustrated old man. I will try to enjoy the ride while I can and only hope that someone creates an excellent alternative to it. Sad when most porn games in the last 10 years have jumped up in quality and production while both TiTs and CoC 2 just can't remove themselves from CoC's shadow because the teams behind both have forgotten what made CoC so popular.

If anyone has any inside knowledge about who gets paid what from the CoC 2 team it would help to piece together the knowledge of how they actually budget. I would imagine the top earners would be Savin, Tobs and Moira? As Savin and Tobs seem to be the main writers and Moira provides most of the art. Other than Wsan are there any other regulars? I guess there are those who do the coding but not sure who they are. I will assume the regular team is about 6 people with Savin taking the bulk. A rough estimate is that Savin alone must earn between 10-12k each month if that is correct that places Savin in terms of individual income in the top 10% in the US. These figures are based around the fact Savin is the project leader I would assume he would take around 8k from CoC 2 alone for himself and at least 4k for his role as a major writer for TiTs. Could possibly be more due to revenue outside of subscribestar and Patreon and his cut could be higher for both who knows.

So when you put this all into perspective its not very surprising people are so upset as I think Savin's earlier work was better in the past along with his attitude. This makes it easier to understand why Savin treats his detractors with such contempt as he is laughing all the way to the bank .

I've been playing most of this game without a companion, no problem.
Some encounters are made for you to have help, like phoenixtower - but most can be done solo.
There are plenty of 'builds' that can get you there.

Some people on this forum keep crying about that they have to bring a companion, or several, everywhere they go, but in reality they basically only cry about not being able to build and equip correctly in a porngame..
Sure it's a lot easier with allies, but doable without.

But seriously, who hates Brint? He cool.
