I used to lurk around the Fenoxo forums, and for the TiTS thread on Myrellion, Savin said that one of the pieces of inspiration he used for the red ants was Starship Troopers. Well, there is a certain quote (in the movie at least) that describes the 'power-fantasy' problem oddly well, "That which is given has no value." If a character struggles and has to overcome whatever obstacles in their path to win, then why shouldn't they enjoy the fruits of their labor? If a character is given everything, is OP from word go, and never has to earnestly struggle against serious adversity, then that is a bad 'power-fantasy'.

Wait does someone have a screenshot? I never had the uh "kick" to play the game for a long time, how bad is it?
You ever talk to someone or read something where in the back of your mind it feels like "hey maybe yall yapping abit to much and trying to sound like you are smarter then you are at the same time"

its kinda like that

Edit: should point out i don't "hate" the kitsune content kyoko was #1 on the list to me at one point and Rindo is pretty cute but i def wish things where done better with it and well Ryn's story arc was just better to me

Savin has DnD sessions that he and his friends played on his YT channel, and its kinda disheartening how boring the lore for this game is. You have the Seven, gods who are secretly the most powerful members of an extra-dimensional race that almost destroyed the world and were expelled from it, who then took up the mantle of gods that did exist but were gone by that time (or so they say), and there is nothing really substantial done with it.

In DnD, there were three individuals who held the mantle of the god of Death: Jurgal, Myrkul, and Kelemvor.

Under Jurgal (neutral), death happened but it wasn't an unnecessarily intimidating or horrifying thing.

Under Myrkul (evil), death became scary, it became a terror that seemingly hunted people down to kill them.

Under Kelemvor (good), death became a comfort that would bring the good and righteous to paradise and the evil to judgement.

Out of these three, Kelemvor had the most harmful impact; good-aligned adventurers became glorified suicide bombers that were going to paradise because they died fighting evil, while evil went underground and became more devoted to the gods they worshipped. It only stopped because Ao, the chief of all the gods, told him to knock it off because the other good-aligned gods were complaining about.

There is no exploration of how entities, who gained emotions just before they took up the positions of literal gods, would fare. Would they focus too much on one aspect of their new portfolio to the detriment of others? Would they be ignorant of or actively ignore whatever nuances and intricacies their new positions had? Would they be involved with every aspect personally or would they essentially fuck off unless it was necessary?

Guys I know I brought Anno up (Comparing her to Cait), but let's try to keep this thread on topic for CoC 2.

I have been replaying it for a while and I don't remember it being how it is now. It's much better than when I played it a few years ago. And even though there appears to be more content for futa/dickgirls/femboys, there are a ton more female characters than I remembered.

Might have judged it to unfairly before, it's actually great.
I just hope the Kitsune aren't as bad as people seem to be saying here, cause they are literally my favourite type of girls.
A piece of advice. Don't let Kyioko out of the orb. She and Kinu will start hating you, and eachother, literally for no reason. Why? Because fuck you, that's why.

And be warned that most kitsune pregnancies are one-time only. Once done, you can never impregnate them again. And you can knock up only one of either Miko or Mai. Why? Because fuck you, that's why.

And before Savcucks start babbling about Orb Kiyoko - she's literally from a different era, when CoC2 was actually good, you can't compare her to modern CoC2 kitsunes.
P.S. Orb Kiyoko is still my favourite character in this shitshow of a game.

I recommend that you just play through the Kitsune den and form your own opinion, instead of relying on the opinions posted in this thread. A lot of people in here hold years old grudges and this colors their perspective on not just the Kitsune but on CoC2 as a whole.

Elsewhere, Kiyoko continues being one of the most popular characters, and for a good reason. Kohaku is also insanely popular, and so is Rindo.

The backlash in here against the Kitsune is IMHO overblown due to a lot of people in here having a personal beef with the guy writing them, the source of this anger being past drama and the fallout from it that happened all the way back when CoC1 was still being worked on. They claim that the writer created Kinu specifically to "troll" them.

But again, instead of believing either side the best course for you is to just play through the Kitsune content and form your own opinion.
LMAO. Look at you pretending to be a voice of reason.
First. Fuck you, TOBS.
Second. TOBS literally been bragging about how much of a piece of shit he is, on the forums. For years.
Third. TOBS' entire personal thread on the formus consists of him commissioning Kinu porn. All while other people get ridiculed for even asking if Kinu would ever get sex scenes in the game itself.
Fourth. Literally quoting TOBS: "the core pitch of the character [Kinu] was a spite project and a salt mine." TOBS FAGGOT.png

Personally I feel that The Seven only took up that mantle due to greed. Instead of destroying the world they decided that they'd much rather bask in the worship of mortals.

I still won't forgive them for removing favorite wolf boy from the followers list.

servicing others is not PLEASURE for the player, is not hot if it ends without the player receiving some love as well
Tell me you're a selfish "lover" without telling me. The service IS the pleasure; one is deriving pleasure vicariously through those being served. There is nothing more intimate and arousing, in my mind, than bringing pleasure to others selflessly; conversely, I find it equally extremely arousing when others please me with no real physical gain for themselves.

It's the thought that counts. Clearly, you don't think, therefore you wouldn't understand.

I see! so Basically I'm considering Power Fantasy from a narrative standpoint of avoiding a Mary-Sue/Overpowered main character whereas Savin just hates RPGs in general and wishes this was a book all about his OCs with no imput of the players whatsoever? (By that definition dude just wants to remove player agency from an RPG, the gender defined by that very player agency, is a stupid paradox.)
Consider the following statement:

I actually don't like games where you can max all your stats, tbh. makes stats seems meaningless.
It generally depends on how the stats are handled though having a full set doesn't necessarily make the stats meaningless, it's just a sign of ultimate efficiency. And people should always have the possibility to reach such a stage in games, mostly to reward them but also because it can be a pretty funny sight to just see the big bad boss get fucking routed.

You must've at least reached and completed the entirety of Gweyrquest, featuring an unskippable out-of-body flashback. In fact Tobs writes a lot of the main and side dungeons so even if you ignored the Kitsune Den you'll still have a taste of Tobs' writing.

Savin obviously enjoys having his writing be set apart from other people's. I understand the want to make a 'game' and feature your own stories collectively that otherwise wouldn't get the recognition they deserve, but Between Fen, Sav & crew, it really makes me think they'd just be losers at an anime convention rather than actively interesting people with their own panel/booth. VIP pay pigs for shit they pay people to do for them.. That they could do themselves.

Greed? Don't Nareva and Lumia tell you about them literally gaining empathy for people the second they "woke up". And it's not like they had a choice of what they turned into. They just woke up as I assume the god that people were praying to the most around them at the time based on what they said.

Wouldn't put it past Keros though. They guys a cunt.

Nah, they didn't wake up as gods, they were still themselves. They were massively powerful beings due to all the souls they had eaten, who suddenly lacked a purpose and were full of feelings, largely guilt.

They ran into each other and there happened to be 7 of them, amd there also happened to be 7 gods that people prayed to that...didn't seem to actually exist anywhere, so they just decided to fill those roles.

I think it's a pretty neat idea that opens up a lot of questions. Maybe the gods died? Maybe they never existed? Maybe thos is one if those situations with "destiny" where fate maneuvers the position to be filled by someone suitable?
