Seeing atugia with literally 0 fucking votes in the poll feels so sad, man. I feel like she could be a really popular companion but Gardeford just refuses to do anything with her and she gets complete garbage scenes like the mushroom NTR and Brint sharing. I just want to romance the cute buff tomboy dullahan history nerd, man :HideThePain:.

I also have a feeling Kiyoko is only up there because she indulges a pretty common (and imo fucking annoying) fetish that is breeding. That and because she does wife things, even though it doesn't even remotely seem like she loves you. Cait's probably up there because of sheer content size and some weird stockholm syndrome shit. I refuse to believe people genuinely like her as a person.

Honestly besides Atugia and Brienne, I don't like any of the companions really. All the others either focus on shit I don't like or something about their character just really bothers me.
I do like the Brienne/Atugia stuff they make a great team in and out of the bedroom. I really really wish I could take Azzy as a fourth teammate/bedmate though cause she is the only other companion I really like. I don't like Arona but I do like putting her in her place as my sub 3:) Depending on how FemBerry turns out might have to make room for her too though...

How could she be anything but vanilla (for the Fenoxo/Savin games)?

She's your basic "human but with animal ears" cat girl. She doesn't have a strong lean towards any particular fetishes. Her main discernible trait, in a world where everyone loves sex, is "likes sex a lot".

Even if you ask your companions about her, the main thing they come up with are "nice" and "friendly".

She's vanilla as all get out. Plain white bread.

She basically exists because she's she's so vanilla she can be put in any sexual situation and it's not out of place.
Agni also says Cait is super brave for being a two dollar skank, doesn't really make it the word. I'm also not sure in what universe a pink fat cat, who just got fat by drinking gallons of spunk, saying she'll consider having yo kids is considered vanilla, but i think i prefer mine where vanilla means a cow wedding followed by a wincest foursome.

Brienne is unquestionably in first place, with Arona as a close second imo... futa dommy-mommy for the win... :)

Kiyoko isn't even on the list, what a waste of time character...

It's weird too because kiyokos built (at the start) like she should be a fox brienne. Both breed rapidly and like family, both are monogamous but ok with you doing whatever, both are party members, both are lovey dovey touchy feely (kiyo at least at the start), but imo the orb time skip things the issue. There's some moments like when you sleep with kiyoko on the outside and she feels the pc for real and isn't alone when she wakes up etc, but her personality feels off. She kinda pops out of the orb in "queen" mode and from then on interactions are just wrong.

They want her and kinu to be royalty and harsh but fair and all but compare them to other long term devoted partners: brienne you treat right and take care of (or I guess she still loves you even if you abuse her), and shes devoted af. Ryns got all sorts of issues but you can cuddle and talk with her and then she's devoted af besides weird writer moments, pretty much immediately giving you a high enough rank, with a fortress and forces included, to marry her with minimal problems eventually after the winter city stuff. Kas wants your soul to use as her baby battery but also treats the pc very loving if you do so in return, she has her own agenda and desires like kiyoko, but also values the pc openly.

Meanwhile kiyoko requires currently the most effort besides kas to save but is the non sexy, abusive version of a dommy mommy. She has occasional moments to reel in the mc like "here's dinner uwu" but then goes back to treating you like crap and not even wanting to invite you to much. It's like emotional abuse when she talks about the ""potential"" nakano has and how much kinu is in love with him and how you better keep your nose out of their business etc. The den as a whole just feels like you're not welcome, rindo and miko are basically your hos only until they find someone better, and you basically stare at the walls while everyone, including your hos, talk about how great nakano and the town drunk are. You can literally go to khor minos and have a harem and family, winter city and have a harem and probably become king, setup at the temple of mallach and engage in debauchery for the rest of your days, or you can be a ho that politely sits in the corner until your wife is done, with untold children that apparently all don't particularly like you while kinu goes off on her own adventures protecting them.

I imagine if they would have let the pc arrive at the attack on their home, and had you barge in the burning buildings picking up little fox kids going "papa/mama I'm scared" and going doom slayer on the attackers while floofs are on your back it would have gone a good way in building investment and attachment instead of giving all that to kinu. The orb time skip just seemed to remove anything you did with kinu or kiyoko so that could have been a good incident for them all to recognize you as their parent and to have went ahead and been done with kinus daddy/parent issues.

Cait's really easily likable as a person, more than most of the companions. She's a super basic, friendly bubbly chick who's down for lots of sex. People are obviously going to like her.

I don't mind her, she's just too vanilla to really tickle my balls.

I like pretty much all the companions to some degree though....except Quin.

He sux.
Well, you sucks too, m8.

I just ignore Kyoko and her quest entirely, not matter what I did it just felt like I'm there for convenience , if I wanted an abusive relationship I would have stayed with my ex
Kiyoko isnt that bad as a person in my opinion she's cute, my only issue i have with the kitsune quest line i found it a little... (can i say lacking?? not sure..) ill say bland for now. Other than that its interesting in its own right.

Turned me off quite a bit how she was a shit to young Kinu. How you gonna be jealous of your 5 year old child (who doesn't function like a 5 year old at all but still) for being good at things. Compare and contrast with Kaz, who behaved like her best self to meet her grandkid. It's pathetic, and also annoying that we can't call her out at all. If anything, trying to compensate for her shitness by supporting the 5 year old only leads to a geisha who loves her mother and despises her father, so there.

I actually believe people dislike her BECAUSE of sheer content size, cause it means she is everywhere, even when you don't want her to be there.

Hot take - I don't hate Cait. She ain't vanilla (as someone else said), but is basic instead. She and her entire personality is an easy-going, happy go lucky slutty girl that would fuck anything because why it's fun and actually it's her religion. It's not a bad concept. She serves as the polar opposite of characters like Brienne and Kyoko, which for a porn game that takes pride in it's variety is important.

In fact, I'd argue that being the first character you encounter - she establishes the tone of the world pretty well - it's a world of debauchery where it's fucked or be fucked and many characters see this as nothing serious or major. The issue with this is the fact that apparently we are supposed to be fighting against it, because soon it's going to be worse? This is more of the main plot issue.

every companion's response to her boils down to:
"She's so gosh darn sweet, you can't hate her!".
Call it contrarianism but it's that attitude that exactly makes her flaws stand out all the more.
That's also one of the reasons Cait is in a weird spot. She is easy as fuck to write for, because her entire personality is a heal-slut bimbo who would never refuse a fuck (and I actually sort of like that archetype). But the game has multiple writers, who all take different approaches to the companions, like how you can permalock yourself out of Kyoko by ignoring the item required for her. And actually, she is a monogamous wife and Brienne also wants to be like that.
So suddenly we have a cast of companions who are very different from Cait. So, what are they going to say about her? Will they bitch about her being a slut? Thinking about it, it's just awkward - you have a party of rather sane, established people who would fuck with you and only you and then Turboslut Cait who fucks everyone. Not sure how party members would even react to her without being awkward about it, so the writes just go with "Ah, she is quite nice and also hot."

TLDR: Cait is actually a decent companion but now feels out of place compared to other companions, but makes perfect sense in the setting and is hated because she appears more than welcomed. I'd say she is the companion who would become better by removing content with her, rather than adding, because that way she can stay in her own specific niche bubble like other companions and not step on other toes.

Eh, I don't think that's right.

Fuck or be fucked isn't normal in most places - most of the creatures you fight in this game that try to rape you are corrupted.

The main exceptions are kitsune (who are at least as nice about it as sex vampires can be) and orcs (literally a marauding warband).

The world is, obviously, very sexually open, but the specific problems we run into are almost all Kass related.

Your party only has...3 people who are banging you and only you, story wise (even if, obviously, most content practically focuses on PC).

Everyone with a dick will fuck anyone else (except sub Arona, and that's not so much by choice), Azzy has her thing going on, obviously Cait, Atugia will also bang other people if she wants (she gets into it with Arona)...it's really just Brienne, Kiyoko, and Agni.

Brienne, Kiyoko and Agni are also all, coincidentally, in various abnormal situations that cause them to fixate on you (Briennes cursed, Kiyoko cause amulet + fox society stuff, and Agni because she only takes one lover per life or whatever).

Cait is actually closer to the norm than your companions are. The disconnect comes from the writers knowing players like semi-monogamous characters, so a lot of characters end up that way even if it runs counter to the setting.

TiTs has the same problem, with the same disconnect. It's most evident in certain places at the start of relationships. All three people you can marry right now make a point of telling you that the relationship isn't exclusive; despite the fact that it's seems marriages not being exclusive is the norm anyway, so why bring it up? Same in TiTs, with everyone you get romantic with telling you that their species or society or whatever doesn't do monogamy - but apparently nobody does, so it really weird that it keeps being said.

Cait telling you she's going to bang other people is actually odd because...everyone else does that too, if not to the same extent, and nobody cares if you are just as much a slut as Cait.

Basically: in both games, they set up a "free love" sort of world, but they know players also want their waifu characters, and they try to have both.

The problem is her "specific niche" is mostly threesomes. By definition she's built to be included in other people's stuff.
Which is why I called her vanilla - she doesn't really have any strong flavor of her own.

Fighting people if they refuse to have sex with you is not even fucking remotely nice. I'm not going to fight random people for food unless I'm starving to death. It's even more fucked if the person in question values their chastity. Kitsunes are fucked bro, there really is no defending them. You're also forgetting the "exceptions" that are the shitgoblins, harpies, Kaina, Avani Rider, Selkies, Jotuns, marefolk, the manticore, and the mino-miners all have loss sex scenes. If loss sex scenes are this common, it's a fuck or be fucked world and kass has nothing to do with any of these scenes.

Atugia will also bang other people if she wants (she gets into it with Arona)
I don't remember this ever happening. Post the scene, please?

The disconnect comes from the writers knowing players like semi-monogamous characters, so a lot of characters end up that way even if it runs counter to the setting.
There are exceptions to every rule, though? Irl monogamy is the norm but there are still polyamorous people. It's not a disconnect because it's a deeply personal thing that varies wildly from person to person, regardless of culture or what the norm is. And Cait telling you she fucks other people isn't odd because it sets up player expectation that other people might also be like that, which lets them steer clear from the game if they don't like that.

Which is why I called her vanilla - she doesn't really have any strong flavor of her own.
If people can dislike her this much, I don't think she qualifies as vanilla. That and because like other people said, fucking and sucking 18 naked cowboys on ram ranch isn't really vanilla. A lot of people aren't super into what is essentially a free-use slut, regardless of how basic her personality is.

Imo arguing about tonal inconsistency is pointless at this rate. Devs obviously just stick random shit into the game regardless of how well it fits with everything else so why even bother caring if they don't?

Eh, it's exactly the same conflict vampires in most fiction.

Evil vampires are the ones that murder and enslave people, while the good vampires are the ones that try to drain willing people, or at least not kill anyone.

Just with sex instead. If this game had "evil" kitsune to make the parallel more clear, we probably wouldn't even be having this discussion.

I don't remember this ever happening. Post the scene, please?
Don't know how to trigger it and not at home.

Basically Atugia claims she's really good at oral, Arona challenges her, Tui makes her cum in like two seconds. It's a camp scene.

It's a disconnect because it's treated like it's the exception, not the norm.

IRL, if you get into a relationship, you probably don't ever have to ask if you two are allowed to fuck other people - because the default is "hell no".

If someone is polygamous, they would definitely bring that up, because they know that isn't the standard.

In this game and TiTs, open relationships and marriages seem to be the standard, but still everyone sees fit to reassure you that they don't mind you messing around - which makes no sense.

And of course, I know why they did that - it's to pander to the player. They want relationships that are IRL "traditional" in a society that exists with different traditions.

And Cait telling you she fucks other people isn't odd because it sets up player expectation that other people might also be like that, which lets them steer clear from the game if they don't like that.
Yeah this is kinda my point - it's basically addressed directly at the player. From an in universe perspective, it's odd.

If people can dislike her this much, I don't think she qualifies as vanilla.
I dont think how many people like her has any bearing on that at all.

And anyway, it's not like the people disliking her are the majority or anything - she's a fairly well liked character. Not as much as Kiyoko or Brienne of course, but well-liked overall. Remember, this place is a tiny, tiny slice of the playerbase.

In any case, my saying her being vanilla probably just speaks more to my personal tastes than anything, it's not super important.

Imo arguing about tonal inconsistency is pointless at this rate. Devs obviously just stick random shit into the game regardless of how well it fits with everything else so why even bother caring if they don't?
Eh, I just like talking about stuff I like.

It's fun.
