Routes which just slap a different personality with the same character are still routes. They are badly written routes, yes, but routes just the same. Which is why i said there's no guarantee having more routes equals getting character with depth. Because it's perfectly possible you'll just get a shit sandwich of a few half baked ideas to choose from.

More than possible, it's likely. But i still think it's worth an effort to differentiate between the two as more accurate language makes it easier to pinpoint what we dislike about CoC2 (and other things). For example, it's not different routes we dislike, it's poorly constructed ones that don't take into account the characters personality or shoehorns the authors wants (or even what they think their audience would want most) into it. It'd just be easier to call it something else though instead of saying the previous sentence every time.

Perhaps. For royalty? Well, that's more complicated. Of course, if it's a child given to you by a god, that'd just be a selling point to their subjects lol

Adoption is perfectly valid in reality, but this is a fantasy porn game. One for that matter has a heavy focus on pregnancy content, so it just kind of seems strange that your companion/lover who views herself as a woman and wants a kid with you won't get the "equipment" to do it. It didn't seem like she was opposed to the idea when she was trying to get rid of the cage (she seemed neutral to me, like she didn't care one way or the other, but it's been a hot minute since I played) it just seems like an odd hill to die on in a game with both the transformation and pregnancy fetishes.

I can not claim that what you are wishing for is unreasonable. But at same time, I see Ryn situation same as I see situation with vagina champ and Brienne and dick champ with Brint. You can not have children with them, but the game should still try to make it known that they are just happy with you how you are. Which on my recent playthrough with Ryn as a dick champ, she accomplishes that. So as long as that continues to be the case, I am happy.

Difference is those are same sex couples. I'm a man and Ryn sees herself as a woman, my woman. Brienne/Brint children is completely optional while with Ryn by all accounts is going to be mandatory one way or the other. Why wouldn't you give an option to male MCs that doesn't include forcing us to accept a kid with no relation to us as our offspring with her? It just sucks to be slapped with this way after I got invested with her. It's Kinu all over again.

Just my 2 cents but why not accomodate both options for those who are playing a fem MC? Or even better, Lumia is meant to be a god like entity why not give my champ vagina juices with sperm like properties so I can impregnate her even with vagina to vagina? Considering Ryn's dialogue and them refering to themselves as female I don't see why they wouldn't go further and have a vagina if the MC asked them to.

I can only hope we don't get some IRL logic such as your genitals don't determine your gender. Espeically when we are in fantasy world where changing your genitals is just a few metres walking distance away to your nearest alchemy shop. While playing this I was under the impression that Ryn would go all the way and get a vagina especially after you can transform her to be more feminine (which Ryn is more than happy to do).

The option to keep the dick is fine too and I would like the option to do both for my different playthroughs. Basically I have seen upcoming games recently with a fraction of the money give more variety and options to their characters there is no reason not to do both especially for a major character like Ryn. My current favorite theory is Etheruined is Savin's self insert and as much of a cucked anal princess as he is is still fond of his penis therefore his self insert cannot have it taken away. Or he's just a lazy ass and it was something he was going to do but never got around to and now people have asked for it he won't do it just to salt mine like he did before in CoC1.

TObs and Savin dislike Embry from TiTS, yet don't seem to realize that Ryn essentially has that exact same mentality with her (bipolar) characterization, as well as "not wanting a vagina" line of reasoning, that really doesn't seem to make sense when considering her character (well, especially in-line with the world, which is the same criticism that they levied toward Embry...).
Also, TObs criticized Embry for being a "trans expy", yet, isn't that what Ryn seemingly is (or seemingly acts like, when considering the setting of the game)?

So, time to also criticize Ryn then:
-Ryn implied before that she tried to remove her penis. Actually wants to keep though.
-Ryn implied before that she tried to grow a vagina. Actually doesn't want though.
-Ryn implied before that she wants to feel more "womanly", and likes feeling womanly. Already is though, right?
-Ryn implied before that if she was given the choice, she would want to be born a woman. Oh?
-Ryn doesn't have an explicit repeatable talk scene about never wanting a vagina - no matter how much the writers want to justify her stance, she only brings it up in 2-ish scenes ? - both of which are one off scenes. Give her a repeatable scene then, so that it's not easy to miss, no?
-Ryn was originally supposed to be a trap, and it seems that the "half-sexed" nature of Elves stems from her identity issues. It seems that the primary design document was edited in 2019 to remove the fact that Ryn used to be referred to as a "trap" - wonder if it was Alypia that complained. Maybe because Ryn was supposed to be a "trap" is the actual justification by Savin as to why she'll never get a vagina?
-Savin's criticisms of Embry also extend to her being a bubble character from a bubble race - yet JimT quit writing pr0n, so he wouldn't exactly have ever gotten around to expanding on the character or the race (Frogapus did expand on her a bit though - hope she does bit more, and for Prai as well). Savin also mentioned that he has never read the character (as he hates Embry), and would never create a Simii character... Make of that what you will.
-Dev criticism - seems like most of the devs just treat Ryn as though she's busty / enthiccened - due to the newer art only reflecting that side of Ryn, yet she actually starts pretty flat / thin. Guess that side of her character is also as forgotten about her as the submissive side.

I disagree with this, because am not really a fan of extra routes specifically. That they can, like everything else, be badly written isn't the main issue. These are aforementioned dispersion of effort resulting in less content in each route, and the second, larger issue i take with it is how it effectively trivializes NPC personalities and their changes, making it relatively effortless and casual affair. It turns what should be their own characters into playdoh figurines for the player's amusement. And while i can understand intellectually the kick some people get out of this sort of power fantasies it just isn't my thing. Like the power fantasies tend to do, it cheapens the affected characters and the whole thing for me.

I mean, especially in fantasy world where changing your genitals is just a short walk to your nearest alchemy shop (and you can sport a different set thrice a week) it kind of establishes that genitals don't in fact determine your gender. People who got their genitals swapped because of the demon interference don't immediately start thinking of themselves as being of the opposite gender, either.

No, did you read the post? Equated the Simii lore with how it appears as though Savin invented the whole "half-sexed" lore in an effort to also justify Ryn's identity issues (again, she was originally supposed to be a "trap").
And as was also mentioned in the post, JimT might have gotten around to expanding Embry and the Simii race further had he continued writing smut - much like Savin has expanded the half-sexed concept and introduced more NPCs like that, such as Annika, some of the Harem Spirits and Synneva.

Also, Savin seems to not like Jin-Jin, so maybe it stems from him seemingly disliking monkey-based races lol. Either way, it does seem pretty petty the lengths that he went to in order to constantly bemoan his dislike for the character - only to make a character that also has some level of contrivance herself (Ryn) - except with Savin being the project lead of his own game, he then is afforded some level of freedom to expand upon that contrivance. Something he isn't willing to admit with his criticism of JimT.
